  1. I consider you and Eddie as squire sharders, but not full Sharders. I’m like a Jedi knight, soon to be a full Sharder master. You and Eddie are just about Jedi Knight Sharders, probably yeah.
  2. Looks like what we have here is one of the ancient traditions of the shard. The "HEY, I'm younger than YOU!" showdown.
  3. A conversation that is basically what the young mens groups are like.
  4. XD I mean, Wizzy mostly because he acts older, because he is older. Early 2022 was probably still what I count as my generation. Robin was then, if I recall. Eddie is probably also not a greenie anymore, but idkkkkkk.
  5. This feels like that Blue's Clues video.

    But that's just a theory,

    A Game Theory.

  6. Honestly... I view everyone as a greenie who came on the shard after me unless I've seen them so many times and they know a lot about the Shard. Wizzy is basically the only one of the new crowd I see as not a greenie in my mind, even though a lot of y'all have evolved to experienced Sharders. Still, I will forever view all of you as greenies. Even in like five years, I'll look back and say "Yup, they still greenies." XDDD
  7. Two men of opposing views on life sat down in a bar.

One turned to the other and explained his view on the way things worked to the best of his ability. This brought an ensuing argument that lasted for hours on end.

At last, the two men left, both frowning and sputtering. Another man came, younger, seeing the aftermath of the fight. He sat down at the bar, ordered a drink, and asked the bartender about what had happened. the bartender explained the deep theology conundrums both sides had presented. The young man, now sitting at the bar and enjoying his drink, thought for a long minute and said, "I don't see why they didn't agree."

"What?" the Bartender asked. "Why is that?"

"You see, they've just put a whole mess over it," the young man said, raising his cup for another drink. "It's my humble opinion, my friend, that the purpose of life is to love and be loved. God can say what he will, people can say what they will, but whatever look you have on which ways of loving are good, the purpose is always the same. It is to love and to be loved."

The bartender didn't say a word, not for a long time. The man chatted with a woman about how he was planning Finally, as the man was about to leave, he said, "Sir, I will give you a free drink on the house. Those two men had PHDs and have studied all their lives. You, without a PHD, without a doctorate, without knowing all the things of the different school, are the wiser of them all."

"I don't know about that," the young man said with a smile, "I just am fond of fantasy." And he left, leaving the bartender with the drink he had been about to give to the wisest man he had met that night.

    2. The Paradoxical Phenomenon

      The Paradoxical Phenomenon

Hmm. I agree. That’s a rather simplistic approach to the issue. There’s more to it than that. But in essence that is correct. It doesn’t contradict anything revealed by God, and he would appreciate that description of what life is.

That was entirely what I was trying to avoid, Alphie, contradicting what has been revealed by God. If I did that I would feel incredibly guilty. But I also think that, explained in this way, it's more applicable to many groups of people, thus being less tailored to our specific beliefs.

    4. The Paradoxical Phenomenon

      The Paradoxical Phenomenon

Yep. And thanks for posting that, it gave me something to think about.

  8. Or mildly threatened?

Sometimes I just lose all words beyond "What is going on?"

Am I going to spin that into a big paragraph upon paragraph essay on why you should be a better person? I can, but I'm tired and I want to read about Dune characters having the best insults.

"Worm faced, crawling, sand-faced piece of lizard turd!" - my boy Stilgar.

  9. Should I feel complimented or concerned?

  11. I'm procrastinating, obviously a Rithmatist reference. (Brandon, FINISH IT!)
  12. Ik I just posted and I need to do school, but...

    I get it now

    I really get it now.

    I understand.

I will be rereading all four Dune books. I'm reading Dune right now and will start Messiah after that.

I flipped open Children of Dune to one moment with the right song playing. I widened my eyes and the camera did some funky stuff as I said "I get it now."

Then I started shrieking "I UNDERSTAND YOU NOW, PAUL! PAAAAUUUUUUULLLLLL!!!!!!!!"

      The Bookwyrm

I want Part 2 so bad...

I need to read Messiah again because I don't think I got it the first time.

      And (CoD spoilers)

      Spoiler

Paul's arc in this book felt weird to me because it felt like it was undermining his "I just want to vanish into the desert and die" decision in Messiah.

But you just illustrated that it's much deeper than that so I need to reanalyze.

I couldn't get through God Emperor. I barely hit one fourth, if even that. It was just...boring. And weird. And it didn't have that same Dune feel to it, if you get my drift...

      Thaidakar the Ghostblood

Yeah, 4 is trying to go into the big things happening later in the series. I thought the first part was awesome, if a little different. But then that last like hundred pages was nasty imo.

      Messiah is sooooo goooooood!

      Spoiler

Yeah, I get that. That's how it was the first time and the second time I read it.

It makes more sense when you put it together with a lot of thought and comparisons, especially when you see that he was deliberately saying know to what Leto was doing in GoD.
