  1. One of the serpentine figures slid into focus near Nameless, forming into Thaidakar, "I am alive. Two of the drifted ones have fallen." There was something... different about Thaidakar. There was a grim shade to his face, a foreboding tinge to his eyes. "I..." He shook his head, his glasses sliding down his nose. He pushed them back up again sighing, "I'm going to go find Calano." He shifted back into a dragon, twisting through the air, looking for him. @CalanoCorvus
  2. I will say that, now that I see this, there are three people fighting. Thaidakar sees himself as two people, Feanor and Thaidakar. It could also mean Spook, who is on the sidelines, who's perspective we'll see very soon...
  3. I loved that! Thaidakar won't win here, but he won't lose either. Feanor laughed, his hood whipping back and revealing his hair. Swords whipped back and forth, exchanging with a pleasant ring. A ring that normally brought death, but it was just another note to dance to for him and Platypus. Platypus really was a good one. Shame that he had to kill him if he could. However, he doubted if he could. Could really kill him, that is, without being stopped, either by himself or by another who wanted him to cease the murder of Narrators. "Having fun?" Thaidakar asked with a smile as his blades darting back and forth, Narration sparking. Power rippled through every motion, guiding each move. This was art more than anything, a painting created with fiery steel and Narration, Plot setting a backdrop for something magnificent. He could see Platypus was weaving more finesse, but Feanor knew that he could match it if he wanted to. And... what if... Feanor leapt into the air, narration spraying under him, stopping Platypus from effecting him too much while he arced across the dim sky. The landscape changed as he landed, a screen wipe. It was a tool that not many employed or knew of in this world, but Thaidakar knew it like the back of his hand. They were in the middle of medieval battle, screams of terror and pure enjoyment erupted around them as Feanor continued the fight, slashing with his blades like a deadly hurricane. The change of landscape would probably be disorienting for Platypus. Sorry for responding late, had a few things going on.
  4. aaaaalllllriiiiiight

I finished Eragon and... honestly,  (spoilers)

    Spoiler

it was a slog for a good portion of it. The writing was amateur for the most part. I was a fan of Brom, Murtagh and Solembum (not the names though XD), but the story kinda dragged. Saphira was hilarious, but like.. ehhhhhhhh.

Eragon as a character I think was fair. He was a standard fantasy farm boy protagonist. nothing special.

I want more about the Shades and the elves though.

I really did not like the last 70 or so pages of the book. I didn't like it very much. I felt like they should've leaned more into the politics side of Tronjhelm, making Eragon encounter high class. Maybe he should've had a dinner scene on par with the one in Dune

I watched Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and At World's End. I loved DMC, but didn't like AWE very much. I won't ever watch the other movies. I don't want to trudge through On Stranger Tides, nor DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES! *studio c noises* Hoist the colours is permanently stuck in my head.

Anyways, I started Babel by R F Kuang, author of Poppy War (Won't read that one though). I'm liking it so far. I'm glad that it's just Eragon and not all books for me that are slogs. I'm cruising through this one, the prose is just awesome.

My sister had a party today, it being her birthday and all. I kinda just hung out in the background, reading, watching PotC, eating ice cream as an older brother does...

    How's y'all's day been?

My personal favorite was book 4 and I think everything after flashback has gone downhill. It was great for a while though!!

I liked Unlocked and Stellarlune! Unlocked saved the series for me though.

Dead Men Tell No Tales is actually pretty good. On Stranger Tides is not.

  5. "I am sorry, Platypus, but I cannot agree. Even if it changes nothing, I have to do it. And I didn't tell you my plan," Thaidakar said with a melancholic smile, standing up, "just why I am doing it. And thus our fight begins, my friend! May the best fighter win!" He raised his hood once more. He shook his shoulders, twin blades forming in his hands as he readied himself. Feanor grinned, "En guard!" He strode forward, swishing his blades in front in a test strike, a finesse evident in the precise movements. The flesh of his hands beneath the cloak undulated against the blades' handles, tightening and un-tightening with eagerness for the fight resumed. Platypus was a great warrior. And, for the most part, it seemed Feanor would lose against him. But... Feanor knew who was the better swordsman over all. Himself, most likely. So, it was really just a game of chess. A game of strategy and timing. When to fight and when to flee. When to strike and when to parry. When to kill and when to have mercy. Power sparked as Feanor's swords cracked like whips in the air as he began the real attack, after-images haunting the blades with purple and blue flames. With a grace granted by years of practice in an almost dance, his flurry of attacks came down on Platypus, parrying when needed, moving back at times and when his blades landed, they landed well. Recoil was not as much an issue for this master of the fine art of sword play, Narration and training helped with that. And, at times when he did feel it, he used it to launch another attack. Yes, the style of the Narrator was like a fine dance, a thin line between butchery and artistry. Much like TLT itself, in Feanor's eyes. Artistry at times and pure brutality at others. Feanor was the balance of those two things, the melody of the discordant tones of TLT, the embodiment of the ethereal, horrible harmony. Yes, Feanor represented what TLT was in several different ways. None of them the right ones. So, as Feanor unleashed a flurry of attacks on his friend, he knew that there was no turning back. No, no real turning back. A part of him wondered, however, was this really the right thing he was doing? The logic assured him otherwise. It would all work out in the end. Real change would come. The world would be changed for the better. His blood forged legacy. Planting a garden and laying his enemies' and friends' fallen corpses upon it as fertilizer. Would Platypus be one of those corpses? It was too soon to tell. And, as Feanor matched Platypus's most likely counter attacks and defenses, Feanor knew that this would be a moment to define the hundreds of pages. Ahh! A mere moment. Moments, what are they but a flicker in the mist, gone before you can register it is even there. They are branded upon minds and made more than what they were in the beginning. Memory enhances as much as it destroys. Feanor had learned that long ago. These thoughts plagued the Narrator as he danced his dance of death, weaving a Plot that he didn't know he was, even while intending to begin a far different one.
  6. only 2 sides? I can see more than two sides forming. Sure, there will be only two sides really fighting each other, but there are loads of other people besides the most vocal ones. It wouldn't split like a plate with a crack in the middle.
  7. Thaidakar smiled, sitting down cross legged. "See there, was that so hard? Come, sit with me. We have much to discuss. And," the Narrator waved a finger, "I have a good story too... a story of wrongs and reasons which I am sure you will be interested in, yes?" Though his words were jovial, there was an edge of caution, an edge that defined his readiness for a fight if one arose. "As I said, many people regard and regarded me as a horrible person," Thaidakar said, beginning his story. "I don't think I was or am. My actions are horrible at times, but inside I'm really just a fellow he likes a good story. And there isn't a good story without an antagonist, is there?" The Narrator sighed. "No, that is not reason enough... before you go thinking that I did it for the fact that all of you needed a villain, let me tell you otherwise. I am what I am because they have made me so. And..." He stood, "It must not be revealed to the thread, for that would destroy what I have worked for." Thaidakar extended his hand, the words entering Platypus's mind. "Do you understand now?"
  8. Here's how I look at it. The Lord uses higher levels of science than what we know to use the universe. Similar to how it isn't evolution vs God, God used evolution to create mankind. God knows more about science than any human will ever know until either Zion, the Celestial Kingdom or someday in the eternities beyond it. If you brought modern science to the esteemed scientists from thousands of years ago, they would say that it's magic and that it disobeys the laws of science completely until you reveal how it works in detail.
  9. I- ... I mean, this is the unpopular opinions thread. Ignore this post for the most part XD
  10. Oooh... Introduced was about when my mom had White Sand and I grabbed it for a read because I thought I wanted to write comics at the time (despite having not read any comic, still haven't really besides White sand, Dark one and Amulet, but those hardly count). I actually fell in love with him as an author when I read Alcatraz after that. Then, a few years later, I read Elantris and Mistborn. Then it started all coming together. And then my mom showed me the memes on here and I was like"Eyyy, if I have an account I can look at the memes more and add some more! And ask for Aether of Night! Another Sanderson book! Huzzah!"
  11. "If I do kill you," Thaidakar said softly, "I will do as you ask. And... as my blade falls on you, it will fall with tears. But," Thaidakar started, walking forward, his blade turning into mist and leaving him, "Can I at least give you my reasoning for why I am doing what I am doing? If you truly saw me as a friend, give me at least this chance to explain myself and the importance of what I am doing. I want someone to understand it. I can't explain why, but I just want someone to know it. I would die a villain in everyone else's eyes if only one knew what I am truly doing from the depths of my heart, though it be tinged with darkness." "Give me a chance, Platypus?" He said it like a question more than anything. In that moment, Thaidakar almost felt like he would let Platypus kill him. But, alas, his plan would fail if that happened, and he couldn't let that happen. This needed to work. It all needed to happen how it would so he could, at last, rest in utter peace knowing that he'd done something that would save TLT in the end instead of destroying. They had to think of him as a villain so that they could be ready for what was to come. For what was coming after him. This world had done nothing for him besides given him pain... and some friends. He felt a twinge of regret sting deep inside him. No time for that now. No... there wasn't anytime for that. Not yet. There would be time to grieve for the Brave Adventurer. Oh... the brave adventurer, his oldest friend, his oldest enemy. And to think that the last face the Adventurer had seen had been his own. Yes, there would be time to grieve later. He would make time to do so at all costs.
  12. *grins* Heheheh... I think it's about time to do something insane. Spook watched from the darkness, having used copious amounts of Narration to get there, following the traces of Plot left by Feanor and Platypus. This was going to be important. He knew it. And, if Platypus didn't succeed in killing Feanor, then he would do it himself. Spook had always hated his father, Thaidakar, but by the Authors, he was going to avenge him if necessary. And, yet... Spook felt that something dark was about to commence. A reveal... Those were always interesting. Hopefully Feanor was someone that Spook could make turn to his own side. However, Spook knew that the darkness, which he assumed was Feanor, wouldn't be that easy to defeat. No, the Temple of Plot had been clear, there was to be more death than had occurred. Much more. All he could do now was wait... Feanor laughed softly underneath his hood, "It won't, eh? Platypus, we've known each other for a fair amount of time now... My friend, from the moment you joined the fight, I wanted to show myself. But that was not the right time. It wasn't, no it was not. For, you would've killed me right then and there, misunderstanding everything and ruining my plan. My glorious plan!" He waved a hand in the air, a chuckle escaping his lips. "Ah... if you could see it all, you would understand. But I doubt you will... Even if I tell it to you, you would misunderstand it for villainy. It is not that." Feanor shook his head, "No, it is not that. Anything but that. They will remember me as a villain, most will, but I want you to remember me as someone different. A friend, perhaps. Though, that is doubtful in the grand scheme of things. I do hope you can come to regard me as someone unforgettable. Someone who everyone misunderstands. Someone who has changed the course of TLT." He lifted his hood and looked right at Platypus, smiling sadly, "I want you to remember me as who I really am, Platypus. I want you to remember me as the Narrator I've been from the beginning, the one who tried his hardest and failed time and time again despite wanting the best for TLT and wanting to do good. The one who noone thought of as the person he wanted to be. No... they only saw the person in the background, slinking around, grabbing power, being arrogant and fumbling around. I want you to understand that that was never me. "No, in the end, I only have one identity." Thaidakar ran a hand through his raven black hair, "I guess what I'm trying to say is that I want to be remembered as who I really am, at least by one person."
  13. frick y'all. I had the longest stretch without losing..
  14. *shrugs* I suppose I can work with that... some fun stuff will be happening! I don't want to do it today, unfortunately, because I got a load of stuff to do.
  15. nope to all of those This character isn't as young as they used to be This character has moved on from their original lover This character does not have a pov.

  17. Alright.

    I'm back!

The church campout I went to was a load of fun. Almost everyone there was a deacon though, so that was... less than ideal for me. There was only one person in either priests and teachers who was there. (won't say which group I'm in. Internet safety is important, kids.)

    forty three messages...

    my gosh...

Only like two of those seem to be from TLT.

    Five from PMs...

so what about the other 38?

I can't have gotten all that from SUs... right?

    ....

    Right?

  19. I'm like leaving rn. So... @Being of Cacophony Here's how things will go. Feanor warps them into another realm that works on different time so the fight is basically halted after you do your reaction to the moves that I just put. I'll be back on Saturday. To make it official: Feanor takes them to another realm where time moves way slower.
  20. Hey, I'm gonna be leaving to a youth camping trip soon! Cya everyone!

    I'll be back on Saturday!

I'm gonna try and check in here a few times before I leave so that I can put in a satisfying thing for Feanor in TLT so that I don't leave @Being of Cacophony hanging.

For Great Houses, I bet I'll miss a lil bit there, but... I place TLT on higher priority tbh, considering how connected I am to my characters in TLT.
