  1. I will pick Mek over Orlok. That's almost entirely gut, but it's better than a debtor. However, if we can swing the vote over to Piff or spencer -- or another inactive -- in the next fifteen minutes, you have my vote. right now, though, it would be useless to add it on there.
  2. Sorry for being overly quiet, Twei. I haven't been spending a lot of time here recently -- just enough to keep up on events -- so I really haven't gotten around to any analysis. Additionally, I will risk invoking Kas's wrath by pointing out that I am still relatively new at SE. I've held my own so far because I have experience with face-to-face Mafia and Resistance, but that tends to be less useful earlier in the game. In the real world, your clues on day one tend to be facial and vocal; while it's important to note what people say, for later deductions, it's usually how they say it that matters in the first day or two. As such, when playing online, I still have trouble reaching opinions early on, and tend to wait on concrete facts to deduce anything. That said, I will try to speak up more from here on. I don't have a lot of time right now, but I will go back over everything later tonight, and tell you what I come up with, even if it's little to nothing.
  3. I'm not rejecting power, I'm requesting that, in my case, the acquisition of power occur through realistic methods, that might reasonably happen in one of Brandon's actual novels. I want the limitations so that I can build a decent character, not just a decent fighter. You don't need magic powers to be interesting. I've got a Forger in LG12. Fingers crossed that he becomes an Elantrian, but either way, he's going to sign on as Nowko's lab assistant if he survives. That should solve the issue; even without the freedom of Aonic research techniques, his realmatic expertise will be invaluable.
  4. Much as I like the 'No Face' shtick, I'm going as Won LenReen, or Len; an accomplished SoulForger. Having recently discovered an Aonic ancestry, I have travelled to the land of Arelon, seeking answers. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that Stamps don't work here.
  5. I understand, doctor. Take whatever time you need. Winter, I'd prefer to play this by the book with my character, as well as lower key. Give Cloud' any powers you'd like, but Nowko is only going to have abilities he might have if Brandon were writing him (with perhaps a little bending).
  6. Nope; try again. I know for a fact that your name shows up if you protect yourself with iron. That may be why you didn't die, but not why you're listed as 'Someone'. So what else could it be? I know you're not a Trueself. Also, how do you know Kirrah lied about her powers?
  7. I'm interested in precision Spiritual work. I believe that, with the proper training, someone could use small, precision spikes and a Shardscalpel to perform a sort of Spiritual surgery. Healing spike victims and Shardblade wounds; things like that. If I get really good, maybe I could begin working with peoples' Spiritwebs in a progressive fashion, creating new sections of Spiritweb and implanting them in patients. I hope to be the cosmere's first Realmatic surgeon. What I wouldn't give to be an Elantrian. That would make my research a whole lot easier and safer. Anyway, I'd love to learn anything you can teach me about the nature and structure of the Spiritweb. I know a little, and I'm familiar with elementary Realmatics, but everything I have is cobbled together. I could use a more complete education. So, anything you can think of about hemalurgy really; bind points, effects, and the like.
  8. Phatt, Piff's only one man; give him a break! 'Pre-bonded spren'? What does that even mean? Dr. Kipper, a warm welcome. I'm sure a hemalurgy expert will prove useful; many of us are floundering in the dark, and would be totally unable to realistically perform a Spiritual surgery. Would you be willing to take some time to teach me the basics of the Spiritweb?
  9. Mother of God! With the center destroyed, this game just got a heck of a lot trickier. Araris, Spencer wasn't in the room for Meta's sweep, so he can't have been the hemalurgic Feruchemical iron. Also, many condolences to Haelbarde, who died a turn after he was born, before many people even knew he was playing the game.
  10. LenReen stood silently, contemplating his options. What he planned went against his every instinct; his kind were never meant for the spotlight. Perhaps if he just tried a little bit harder... No. Remaining in the shadows is what made me try to kill Malrick. He rose and walked to the podium. "My name is LenReen of Terris, and I am a Founder. For fifteen generations, I have worked to preserve the work that I laid down here. What Fath... what Rashek -- the man you know as the Lord Ruler -- did was wrong, and only this brave little Village remains to resist him. "And yet, even now, he seeks to destroy us. He was ever fond of hemalurgy, vilest of Arts. It comes, I think, of his sense of insecurity; he revels in his ability to twist the strengths of his enemies to his own cause. And now he come here -- the Twinborn Village, that last bastion of resistance, lies in peril. "Men such as Jaelre, in accepting his gifts, betray the very foundation of this Village. "I cannot help what I am. But I can defend the Village, as I always have. I pray that you will let me." LenReen drew back from the podium as the crowd burst into excited murmuring. He saw Malrick, in the corner, looking grim; not surprised, perhaps, but deeply hurt. He strode over to him. "Kwon died, thirteen years ago, of a fever, and not a day passes that I do not mourn his loss." Malrick looked up sharply. LenReen continued. "I would have you know that he was my closest friend, perhaps the closest I have ever had. He demanded that I take his bones, but I still feel vile for having done so. "You may know little about me, but I have come to know you. I count you among my friends, Malrick of the Alehouse. I hope that we can remain that way." LenReen turned to go. Malrick watched him leave with tears in his eyes. Alternatively: LenReen turned to go. Malrick called, "Wait." Lenreen paused. "I've always been a lover of history. What say I pour you a drink, and you can tell me all about the early days of the Village." LenReen turned, a small smile on his face. "I'd like that." Meta, you decide. ------------------------- So it seems I've gotten here too late, and all I can do is bandwagon. Yes, Jaelre is almost certainly Spiked, which I have believed since before last night was over; Meta, luckat can tell you why. So, yeah, I'm a kandra. But I'm also the only kandra who has consistently sided with the Twinborn, in an alliance that I have called Team Twindra. Araris has engaged in some... untrustworthy conduct, Jain is looking out for Jain, and Feligon is... a dinosaur, now, I guess? So take it as you will. Umm... Meta... I sort of owe you an apology. Araris started the rumors by calling you his Spiked contact, but he didn't have the Twinborn contacts tho make that dangerous. I did. It's my fault that you got attacked last night (though I have no idea where seven attacks came from; I was hoping for three at best). So... sorry about that. I believe now that you are Twinborn; I can help you survive tonight, when the Spiked inevitably go after the public-facing Mistborn, if you want.
  11. David Tennant is my favorite actor (period), and I'm tempted to say that Ten was my favorite Doctor. However, I simply adore the direction they're exploring with Twelve; they are, in a very real sense, pulling back the mask that the Doctor has worn since meeting Rose and revealing the unstable, broken man that they have always hinted lurked beneath. Eleven was fun, and at times he really shined as a character (Rings of Akhaten), but he never settled on a self-definition. Matt Smith was magnificent, but his character fluctuated too much for me to ever attach myself to him. The tightest and most well-written season has to go to Season 5, even though I wasn't a huge fan of any particular episode. I love Time of the Doctor, which was a near-perfect resolution for Eleven's character. Single best scene goes to Tennant's death, which can consistently make me cry. (I'm serious. I could go put it on right now, and I would start crying my eyes out). I was a fan of the Angels, and though I think it could have done with a few less plot devices, Byzantium was all-in-all a stellar episode (I especially liked the jaw-drop when you realize the two-heads thing). The Silence (the aliens, not the church) are my all-time favorite sci-fi race; I wish that more of their potential had been tapped, but what we saw was great. I agree with the opinion that Moffat has a tendency to overuse all the most interesting races, though, rather than make more. He has driven the Daleks, Angels, and Cybermen into the ground, often reducing them to ridiculousness, such as in Angels take Manhattan (there were a few interesting things about that episode, but not one had to do with the Angels). But then, we have to remember that Doctor Who is always going to be ridiculous at times. As Yados remarked, Doctor Who is a big ball of stuff; it's terrifying and silly, majestic and irreverent, lighthearted and grim. With such a mixed bag formula, the show will never be flawlessly gripping like Sherlock, and there will always be episodes that make us cringe. That's the price we pay for a show that is so frequently able to deliver such magnificently creative characters, stories, and settings; no other show can so perfectly inspire such a childlike sense of wonder in grown adults as this one. True, the quality of any episode is unpredictable -- but so is almost everything else about it.
  12. I've added an 'About the Guild' section to the original post. I thought it was about time we began to decide the general shape of our guild, and how it interacts with the other guilds. I see us as serving, for a fee, as intellectual advisors and emergency medical aid. I've also taken to referring to us as 'The Abundance', for lack of a more permanent name. I feel it has a certain ring to it, that 'Doctors' Guild' simply lacks. Doc Piffington, I would like to request that the following be made available to our medical practitioners: Simple Regrowth fabrials. Unlocked goldminds, bendalloyminds, bronzeminds, cadmiumminds, and brassminds. Shardscalpels (for precision spiritual work). Assorted needle-sized hemalurgic spikes.* More standard medical fare (bandages and stethoscopes and things). *Medical supply spikes are for EMERGENCY MEDICAL USE ONLY. If you require a spike for personal or recreational use, I'm sure the Doc will be happy to procure one for you.
  13. Sart said that he didn't really have a reason for choosing Jaelre, apart from that he was inactive. He was even willing to call the attack off, if Jaelre would just start posting. That said, it is suspicious that Jaelre has ignored every attempt Sart and I made to contact him and save him. Plus, I assume that Sart went through with the attack, but I don't see a dead Jaelre anywhere. That tells me that, posting or not, he has been playing this game. So why won't he talk to us? Jaelre, I still want an answer out of you. I have other directions to look into, though. Alvron, you were the first to put a vote on Sart. Now, I did the same (although I later removed it), so I'm not saying that that alone is suspicious. However, that vote was your first major public action this game. What about Sart made you suddenly decide that now was the time to act? I mean, Sart was just as inactive on every other day of the game. So why now?
