    It's true that I initially urged BB to be open with his powers, but I abandoned that line quickly. I have a policy of extreme candor wherever possible, but I respect that others do not share it. I suggested myself because I wanted to know, simple as that. I don't consider myself to be any better confirmed than any other player, and I don't expect you to trust me because I claim to have met an Analyst. I would have been nearly as happy if we got confirmation from one of his existing confidants. I don't want to know what his powers are; I want to know if, as he claims, they provide reasoning for what I consider to be mild to moderate suspicious activity. The information that I was dogging him for, though, was not his powerset, but a simple confirmation that he hadn't lied this turn, which he seemed to be strangely reticent to give. My increasing aggressiveness was a result of the fact that he seemed to be consistently ignoring my more reasonable requests, instead arguing only against those I was okay with him refusing. Now that he has given that confirmation, I will of course back off. You did not, and this is, perhaps, the source of the friction between us. From my perspective, you appeared to be ignoring request after request to give that simple confirmation, so much so that I began to find your apparent refusal even more damning than the loophole itself. If you believe that you gave that confirmation earlier, then you had every right to be indignant when I kept hounding you for it. In answer to your question, yes, I am happy, but I am also deeply sorry to have upset you as much as I obviously have. Bridge Boy, Bridge Boy. I must also apologize for maligning your understanding of the game. That post was intended at the time to be conciliatory, but I allowed myself to write it from a seat of emotion. Looking back, I cannot understand how I ever meant it to be taken as anything other than an attack on your person. I was wholly in the wrong there, and can do nothing but hope you accept my humblest apologies. Silverblade, I don't think I ever truly had any serious suspicions for you. I'm glad that you've confirmed yourself, but your post was not nearly so suspicious as I made it out to be. I allowed you to be swept up in my pursuit of Bridge Boy. I still think the origin of this contract on your sanity warrants investigation, but I was wrong to assume it implied your guilt. I'd finally like to apologize all around for my aggression this round. I like to think of myself as a levelheaded person, and that is clearly not how I behaved today. Nothing that happened today, either in reality or in my own perception, can excuse how I have acted. I can only say that I am very sorry, and promise to comport myself better in the future.

    Thisismyusername, I agree... Hold up -- I can't keep calling you that. It's long and clunky, and you told me you wanted to change it. Since I can't find a satisfying way to shorten your name, I am going to call you Tiffy. It's a familiarization of TIFU, which is in turn an acronym of your name. If you don't like it, get around to picking a better one. Now, with that out of the way: Tiffy, I agree that that's a point in his favor, but his refusal to give a straight answer about whether he's lied nullifies it somewhat, and is completely unjustifiable. As long as he remains silent on this point, he can claim, post-analysis, that one of his other statements, and not his alignment claim, was the lie. I have asked him to close this loophole repeatedly, and he has ignored or deflected my questions each time. If he is a Villager, then he had absolutely no motivation to do so. I agree that solving this is of critical importance right now, and have informed my contact that I believe their next scan should be on Bridge Boy, but if he refuses to confirm his honesty this turn, it may be a waste of a turn. On a different note, I don't want to let Silverblade creep back into the woodwork without first responding to the arguments I've leveled against him. Silver, are you willing to make an unqualified alignment declaration, or aren't you?

    They certainly should. I have my Analyst, and I know one other player's abilities, but there's more than a dozen Arcanum students out there now. Hopefully, next turn will see a much needed influx of information, but without knowing their abilities, It's hard to say what we'll get. For all we know, they could all have abilities poorly suited to information gathering. We should have at least one, and possibly three Namers out there; they should be using Wind to spy on PMs, which helps. Other than that, we just have to wait an hope. In the meantime, the Analyst will continue to clear or condemn players one at a time. I urge either player BB has told his powers to to come forward. You don't need to reveal what those powers are, just that they exist and are valid excuses for his behavior in this game. You're not really at any risk. You think the Eliminators would try to get rid of you because you know what BB's powers are, rather than coming after BB himself? striking at you would serve no purpose, and would only really serve to lend credence to what you and BB are saying. BB, I'm still waiting for you to tell us whether or not you've lied. Why is this so hard?

    BB, do you not understand that this is a team game? You win by making sure that the last people alive at the end are on your team, not by making sure that you're one of them. Your personal health is meaningless, except insofar as you are able to be of use to the Village. So far, that appears to be next to nil. I think I'm beginning to understand you. You really don't understand this game, do you? This is a deception game, and deception games are played differently than any other type of game out there. You're trying to keep score by the kills each team makes. Fair enough, that's how most games do it, and it is ultimately what decides the game. But it's not really a good metric for keeping track of which team is winning. Like I said before, it's all about information. who knows what is way more important than who kills who. The team that is doing better at its given goal -- concealing information for the Eliminators, revealing it for the Village -- is the team that's winning. My opinion of you stands, because I can't take the risk that you are exactly what you appear to be. Why, for example, do you still refuse to take ten minutes and confirm whether or not you've lied this round? That should be easy, and if you haven't, you could erase every scrap of my own suspicion, and probably a lot of the others as well (though they aren't directly connected to the Analyst). I am no longer aggressively convinced of your guilt, however: It's possible you're just a confused player who is being punished for his lack of understanding in what is admittedly one of the most unique types of games in existence. If that is the case, I am sorry.

What has he said to convince you at all?​ He dodges every question we throw at him, his only retort vague assurances that we need to 'trust him'. I'm sorry, but no. That's not how this game is played. BB, until you start cooperating with your supposed allies to at least a small degree, I consider you the enemy.

    Okay, Stink. Getting a little close to that Post:PM ceiling? Silverblade, first of all, you could easily have put that contract up yourself. If you were a Skindancer, there's no way it would be carried out, and you could use it -- as you just have -- to confirm your innocence. And why on earth would a Skindancer put out a contract to sabotage someone? They could do it themselves, or, if they had more pressing concerns, they could just ask one of their buddies to do it in their convenient little Eliminator doc! I suppose it would be an effective way to transfer money from one Skindancer to another, but apart from that, I've got nothing. Although, I can't fathom why a Villager would do it, either. The only reason for a Villager to want you sabotaged is if they suspected you of being a Skindancer, and then they could hardly count on the Skindancers to target you, now could they? Actually, thinking about it, the most valid reason for that contract to be posted is if you are a Skindancer, and intend to use it to confirm yourself, as you in fact did. I'm afraid that your post has only served to increase my suspicion of you. I have not missed that you did not claim not to be a Skindancer in that post -- though you seem to want us to think that you did -- nor have you all turn. In fact, that entire post seems to be very deliberately crafted to be composed of 'Aes Sedai truths', as you call them. I, also suspect that a Skindancer put up that contract -- you, or one of your compatriots. I insist that you come out and tell us, without mincing words, that you are not a Skindancer.

    Stink, are you saying you're BB's confidant? If not, what was the point of that post? BB, your 'common SE playstyle' is simply bad for the Village. As I have pointed out in the past, the Eliminators thrive on secrets. We vastly outnumber them. In a straight fight, we have the advantage. The only way they can possibly win is by keeping us from trusting each other, and the way that happens is through secrets and lies. I staunchly believe that in almost every conceivable situation, telling a lie hurts the Village more than telling the truth possibly could, and while not nearly so damaging as a lie, keeping secrets is still a dangerous proposition for the Village. At its core, this game is a fight over information. The central goal of the Village is to uncover information, while the central goal of the Eliminators is to conceal it. Pretty much everything that happens in any game of Sanderson Elimination is a direct result of the conflict between these two goals. If an action causes more information to be revealed than concealed, then that action is unilaterally good for the Village. If it causes the opposite, it is good for the Eliminators. It is true that there are times when it is better for the Village to keep certain information concealed. In all such cases, however, revealing information is still the ultimate goal. These are simply the situations in which temporarily keeping a secret now could allow for the revealing of even more information later. And even in these scenarios -- which, I might add, are much rarer than you seem to think -- It is always best to try and reveal every snippet you possibly can without significantly endangering the revelation of future information. Secrets hurt the Village, end of story. You need to decide if the damage your secrets do is really worth what you're getting out of them. Regarding your potential Analysis, I must demand that you go over all your posts and PMs so far and come up with a definitive answer as to whether you've lied or not. This wishy-washy "I don't know" strikes me as a perfect way for a Skindancer to prepare to counter a damning result from their scan. Figure out if you lied, and if you did, tell us what lie you told. I warn you that this is essentially the last straw with me. Almost every word out of your mouth is serving to increase my suspicions of you; if you keep refusing to comply with this simple, fool-proof Alignment test that poses absolutely no risk to Villagers, I will have to conclude that you are a Skindancer.

    I did try to warn everyone about that possibility. With the masters randomly assigning DP, the number of votes we put on people doesn't really matter. It's possible, however astoundingly unlikely, for a single RP-inspired vote to get someone expelled. I really think we need to put more thought into where our votes are going. What if you were given protection? I may be willing to send a Bloodless your way, if you would tell me your abilities in return. If not, I'm afraid I have to agree with Kynedath on this one. Since the very beginning, you have been the single most suspicious player in this game, and it's gotten worse over time. You have consistently refused to explain your actions, even in the face of compelling arguments that you should. If you continue to withhold what you claim is extremely valuable information from the village, I will have no choice but to assume your guilt. Consider that you have already admitted to the Skindancers that you have a powerful ability, one that they should try and kill you for. How exactly are the specifics of that ability relevant at this point? They don't care which of the many powerful Village-support abilities you have; their attention is on you in any case. The only hope you have of avoiding that attention is that they might believe that you are bluffing (which, I suppose, is actually a possibility, given your irrational reticence). The only people who do care which ability you have are the Village, because we need to know about it to get any good from it. Finally, if you have managed to confirm and and make a trust connection with another player, why aren't they coming forward to defend you? Who are they? Surely you aren't afraid to give us that information, when it poses literally no risk to you, and almost no risk to your partner. Funny you should mention that... I was just about to say the same thing. You see, I now have more reason than ever to believe it to be an effective strategy: earlier this cycle, I finally made contact with a Linguistic Analyst. I intend to protect this person's identity by acting as a liaison between them and the Village. So far, they have successfully checked and confirmed both myself and TheMightyLopen (I will keep making my declaration, though, in case we get another Analyst over the course of the game). So, Bridge Boy, perhaps there is a way to have your cake and eat it too -- have you told a lie this turn?

    No, that's how it translates (at least according to Google Translate). The Korean is transliterated as kas-imil, and sounds a little like 'han-EE-me-ay'. His member title, by the way, is in Chinese. It's written as yóuxiá, which sounds like 'YO-shah', and translates to 'ranger'.

    I've made an "I am not a Skindancer" claim in my first post of every turn since I came up with it, and I haven't told a lie all game. If a Linguistic Analyust checks me at any time, I'll be cleared.

    All right, DC, I'll accept that you are probably slightly more familiar with the subject. I just skimmed over what came up when I searched for posts by you in the SE subforum, and many seemed to be you voicing opinions. I will drop the vote on DeathClutch19. I still encourage you to both think and discuss more about the game; there's no such thing as bad discussion. I agree on the Bridge Boy front, but at this stage my votes are better spent trying to spread the lynch more thinly. Unless a sizable portion of the village agrees to try and remove him, adding more than one vote to him is more likely than not a pointless gesture.

    Good point; thanks for reminding us. I will put a vote on DeathClutch19, for lack of contribution. Looking over his history in other games, he usually seems to take an active hand in the game analysis. In this game, he has literally done nothing but roleplay. What are your thoughts on the situation, DC? Why are you being so reserved with your judgement this game? I will hold my other complaint in reserve, for now, but if the vote remains concentrated, I will use it to spread it out some.

    Hm. The two disputants, I'd guess. So there were people arguing last round? OH! It's about the missing sabotage! The two were standing in an unlit doorway, talking in shadows. Hey Wilson, totally out-of-the-blue, hypothetical rules question: if two Skindancers both sent in sabotage orders, targeting different people, how would that be treated in this game?

    You know, I just realized that Sev isn't actually at the Horse and Four right now. He ransacked his room looking for the book, then went off searching for it. Oops? Oh, well. He certainly made plenty of noise when he left; surely someone there will be able to tell you where he went. It seems like our characters aren't going to be meeting up anytime soon; you're going to be led on something of a chase around the campus. I guess I need to stop waiting for you to arrive and start thinking of what Sev's been up to. More on that later, when I've had some time to think.

    BY THE GODS, IT LIVES!!! Thank you for finally joining us, Mac. Mark, he's not a seventh son (or, well, he is, but that's not the point), his name is Seventh Son. His parents ran out of names before they ran out of children. That's what Sev is mortified that someone will find out. That his name is ridiculous and stupid. Unless you already got this, and are just having Marcos misinterpret, in which case, ignore my prattlings.

    Because they were both killed by mercenaries, and the only place the rules mention mercenaries is regarding the death risk for living on the streets. Mashadar got put on the streets because he quit, and according to the site's records, Neo hasn't even been on 17th Shard since the 2nd, so he probably missed renewing his lodging.

    All right, I'll concede to your greater experience; I've never actually even been an Eliminator before. If you say forgetting is more probable, I'll take you at your word. It just seems odd to me. I can't really bring myself to accept the idea that they were just too busy. I would have thought the sabotage to be the most vital part of a turn for the Skindancers. What actions could they possibly be taking that they would consider more important? Apart from a kill, which obviously didn't happen, I can't think of any.

    So this was not a failed sabotage. Interesting. I see two options: one, the Skindancers are kicking themselves right now because they forgot to sabotage somebody, or two, someone last turn used an action-block ability and happened to hit Skindancer with the sabotage action. Of the two, I favor the second; I really can't imagine that they'd honestly just forget. So, whoever out there blocked somebody's action's last round, be advised that your target is a Skindancer.

    Yeah, it's a little weird. Wilson, supposing there were a failed sabotage, would we see it in the write-up, like in other games? Or do we just have to guess? Would the intended target of the sabotage be informed of it? If the protection was offered by another player, would they know? Edit: Oh, by the way, I'm not a Skindancer.

    Unfortunately, he has not. I'm sure you're getting tired of hearing this from me -- I know I'm tired of saying it -- but he continues to tell me that he has been very busy lately, but that he is doing everything he can to get caught up and start playing in earnest. It's frustrating, but I believe he's being honest. I actually don't think he's even managed to send in his orders even once yet, though I did manage to get him to fix his lodging when Wilson threatened to put people on the streets. I will do my best to make him post in the thread before the end of the night. If he doesn't, I'll join you in persecuting him as an inactive.
