  1. Sorry about the spotty activity. I've been busy the last couple of days, and unfortunately that's going to stay the case for a little while. Not enough to render me inactive, but I won't be as central to the discussion as I like to be. I have not had the time to really consider the plans put forward this round, so I'll reserve judgement for now. Whatever our plan regarding faction identities, though, we need to make sure the Bankers know everyone in their gang. Despite what people have said above, no, the banker does not have the ability to get a random GA identity. They can only check the alignment of a player they specifically target. Guys, why on Earth are we letting Lopen get lynched? He's been one of the strongest discussion leaders in this game; we want him alive to continue that. Meta or Straw, please drop your vote before something really regrettable happens. So no one's going to tell me where to stay tonight, right? I just have to decide on my own?
  2. Okay, that's awesome then. Let's do that! And there's no shame in reusing a good idea. Silver, what do you mean, 'Banker gives points'? Once points are in the Bank, they're there to stay. The Banker either uses them or lets them wash away. (What's up with that, by the way? When was the last time you heard of a bank that was emptied of all its contents because of rain?)
  3. Silver, it's all or nothing; you can't split your points between yourself and the Bank. Lopen, your plan is amazing, but only if we are told who is in each Location, in the write-up or something. Otherwise, the Agents will just lie about their location, and all we'll be doing is giving them a handy-dandy list of where everybody is each turn. GMs, will we be given that information? I think the most critical goal in these early stages is bringing our factions together. Most of us are Regulars, which means we're shooting in the dark right now. I would suggest that our Captains and Commanders use their early points to start PMs with their subordinates, so that we can get a team dynamic going.
  4. Elbereth, please consider removing your vote from Firemuffin. He's new, and didn't no any better. Yes, what he suggested was foolish, but I'm almost certain it was not malicious. I'm basing this on character observation, rather than fact, but I do know him fairly well. I need a place for my other vote, so I'm gonna hit IrulelikeSTINK again. Sorry, friend, but you can still afford it best of anyone. Also, the PK assassination was weird. Kynedath, do you really think that the lynch has much effect on inactives in this game? The worst we threaten them with is removing their ability to be active. There are a bunch of other rules in this game built to incentivize activity, but I don't think it's something we can realistically use this complaint system for. If everyone else agrees to drop all votes this round, I'm all for it. None of the votes currently placed have any serious conviction behind them. This has to be unanimous, though, or we'll only be making things worse.
  5. Yeah. I did apologize to Hael up above for having missed that. I have no excuse; I don't know why I didn't see it. It wasn't a physicker, though, unless BB is lying about having used up my Bloodless. Which, given the way he's been playing this game, is absolutely conceivable, but I really don't see a motive. And yes, it's more complicated than I'm making it out to be. Otherwise, it would be a pretty boring game. However, I firmly believe that "Village finds, Eliminators hide" is rooted at the core of every part of the game, and that's something a lot of Village players would do better to keep in mind -- not as set of rules, but as a guiding philosophy. And in the case of my Analyst, why am I bothering to protect them? Answer: because in the long run, keeping them alive nets us more information than revealing them right now. I feel that most situations where it's better for the Village to hide things actually boil down to revealing even more in the long run. I agree that Silver's role-claim was inadvisable, but I felt that it would be rather hypocritical of me to point that out. The spirit of trust and candor that Silver showed is, in my opinion, very admirable. It was just exercised in a poorly-thought-out way. Without secrets and lies, the Eliminators cannot win the game.
  6. Wow. That's astoundingly selfless of you, Silver, especially since you've just essentially made your message-posting power useless. Thank you for being brave enough to share; this game needs more of that. In that spirit, I'll go ahead and report that my elevation this turn was in Naming. I'm in Imre for the turn, though, so I can't do anything with it yet. If any therapist Physickers want to contact me, maybe we can get something going in a few turns. Hael, maybe I'm just reacting against myself from last round, but I want to trust BB for now. His most recent story is the first time he's made complete sense of his actions; it feels significantly more sincere than he has up to this point. I'll never be able to fully get along with someone willing to tell outright lies even to players he trusts, but I no longer have any serious suspicions of him being an Eliminator.
  7. So you did. Sorry about that. I don't know for certain, but BB claims to. Which tracks; he would have been told in his PM report about the Bloodless having been used. Like I said above, BB was only informed after the attempt failed. Actually, you are still basically 100% confirmed. To be able to prove that to everyone else, though, I would have to give away BB's confirmation method, which I promised him I wouldn't do. I've told you the basics of it in PM. For everyone else, suffice to say that BB gave me a story that, unlike what he had said previously, is actually able to explain all of my major suspicions, and that this new story still locks Lopen's confirmation in stone. For any more than that, you'll have to talk to BB. Okay. If you like, I can give you some Nahlrout, so that you can pass it on to them without them needing to put any trust in me. Silver, I saw that, but I don't think 5 talents is going to cut it on that; If they weren't already going to do it, a talent a Plum Bob is not going to turn any heads. Kynedath, all I can say is that I'm flattered that you think I'm good enough to have faked that argument and loss of control yesterday.
  8. That's a thought. I encourage any Re'lar Alchemists out there to be doing nothing but making Plum Bobs. If you're willing to believe BB and myself that Lopen is clear, you should also make contact with him, and he can represent you. Otherwise, pick a player, then use your first Plum Bob to clear them, and ask them to be your public voice. I am willing to provide an essentially unlimited supply of Nahlrout for use with Plum Bobs. Be aware that even with Nahlrout, your name will still be in the write-up if you incite insanity, and even if you don't, the person you question will know who you are. If you are afraid of this spotlight, I encourage you to give the Plum Bobs away, rather than avoid using them. They're one of the most valuable tools in this game, and we need all we can get. In case we don't have any Re'lar Alchemists yet, I'd ask anyone who is not already heavily committed to the field to please refrain from putting any more EP there, so that our E'lir have a chance to elevate.
  9. Firstly, my Analyst is still alive. Secondly, no one seems to have noticed, but there was no sabotage. If BB is to be believed, the target was supposed to be him; he survived using a Bloodless I had given him. Now, we have something of a problem. Our Analyst-Analyst confirmation is not going to work out. BB has confessed to me that he has done a LOT of lying this game, and one of the lies he told was that he has been studying Linguistics. He hasn't. He does have a method of determining others' allegiances, which he has explained to me, but it is a LOT less reliable. It's not something we can count on to regularly clear people. We still have the Analyst I am in contact with, but without BB to confirm them, the thought of wholly putting our faith in them becomes far less attractive. I will continue to act as their voice, but realize that I will have no way to determine if what they tell me is true. If I end up dying, Lopen knows who they are, and, for reasons of my own, he still has 100% of my trust. I'm honestly a little lost on where we go from here. Most of my plans revolved around having our Analysts confirmed. Lastly, I don't want this round to be about BB again. I'm frustrated by his choices, as they fly in the face of everything I believe about how this game should be played. But that's just a difference of opinion. I believe that he is, at last, telling me the truth, and I am willing to extend him my tentative trust.
  10. I guess I'll go with irulelikeSTINK, the richest player who isn't me, and DeathClutch19, who has been inactive this round. I want it on the record that I do not like these choices, and am only making them to try and prevent lashings and expulsion. EDIT: So, Bridge Boy still hasn't read my PM informing him of the Analyst's identity. Unless he gets on in the next half-hour, he won't be confirming them this round.
  11. Um... I'm not comfortable with three of six votes. It's possible that I deserve it, but I can't afford to waste time on a heavy lashing right now (I have things to do for the Analyst next month), to say nothing of being expelled. So I want to put two votes down to spread this out some, but I have run out of suspicions. I could put a vote back on Stink, the other nobleman, and trust that he's able to afford it. There aren't really any inactives at the moment (basically everyone who was inactive just came in and responded to Lopen), so that won't work. I'm open to suggestions. Is there anywhere I could put my votes that it would cause a minimum of harm, while still spreading the lynch beyond three people?
  12. He's new, and letting personal ties get in the way. He trusts me because he knows me, but he doesn't actually have any more reason than you. You should be careful not to do that, by the way, Muffin. I'll ask, and hope they'll be amenable to the plan. There is a slight snag, though. I have news that will upset some of you. My contact is in Imre this round. They can't check anybody. My entire argument has been founded on false principles. I am so sorry.
  13. Wow. You're absolutely right. I don't know why I thought it was TIFU. Too much Reddit, perhaps? So, yeah. TIMU or Timmy. He doesn't actually want to be called Thisismyusername at all. He just put that in as a placeholder because it was late when he signed up, and he was too tired to think of a name. I just needed something to call him while he procrastinates on coming up with something permanent. EDIT: Problem solved. He is now Firemuffin42, so 'Muffin', probably.
