    Well, that's ironic. Literally seconds after I make a final condemnation of your inactivity, you suddenly become active, and promise more activity. How does being able to kill people prove you aren't Spiked? *sigh* As long as you promise increased forum activity in the future, I'm willing to give you a chance. It may not make a difference, though; you shouldn't have waited until this close to the end of the cycle. Sart. I'll move my vote over to jaelre, another two-post player, although one with less of a history of high activity.

    I agree with half-step (Can I call you half-step? I think it'd be a great nickname). Convinced you? Incriminating? What are you talking about? My whole argument was that there isn't any activity that could incriminate him. Honestly, I'm not actually all that suspicious of him; my vote is on him because I think his behavior is hurting the Village, whether he's Spiked or not. That said, he has had plenty of time to defend himself. And it's not like he hasn't checked; 17th Shard shows him online at 1:42 PM today, by which time he had already been the majority vote for quite a while. Since then he has said nothing. I'm sorry, but if you don't have the time to play, then you don't have the time to play. Sart has still made only two posts across the entire game, and he has given no indication that he will be any more active in the future. My vote stands.

    Oh, okay, it was a bad metaphor; I can't believe I didn't get that. Don't I feel foolish. Really, though, David always has a totally valid explanation, so let's hear it, Karlin: How would a fish seem, in theory, useful in a sword fight? As promised, I'll support Araris in putting pressure (and maybe the lynch) on Acer Tuy. Like you say, there really isn't a lot of compelling evidence against him, but right now, there's not a lot of compelling evidence against anyone. Additionally, what Alvron said about him being a little too quiet struck a chord with me as I realized that, until his post Friday evening, I had literally forgotten that he was playing this game. After a quick reread, it's not hard to see why: In the entirety of LG11, he has made a grand total of two posts. One of these was his short, cagey defense this cycle. The other was his character introduction before the game even began. Sart, a veteran Elimination player -- whose profile page tells me that, of the 174 posts he has written on 17th Shard, 149 were made in the Sanderson Elimination forum -- has been, in a very literal sense, totally and completely silent for this entire game. This strikes me as odd behavior. He hasn't just been forgoing the main thread in favor of PMs (although even if he was, I would argue that such behavior is damaging to the Village). He himself freely admits that he's 'not in a bunch of PMs'. His only defense for his lack of involvement is that he's been busy. Now, I fully understand that real life trumps the game, and when other players have put it forward to explain their relative inactivity, I've taken it in stride, deciding that I'd rather be duped by an unscrupulous Spiked than risk lashing out at an innocent player who just has their priorities in order. But this isn't 'relative inactivity'; This is just flat-out not playing the game. If you honestly don't have time to do anything but idly watch the game go by, I think you need to consider that you just aren't able to play right now. I applaud your diligence and sense of responsibility, and I'm sure I'd love to play a game with you when your calendar is more free, but signing up for the game, then refusing to take part, just hurts the Village. I've nothing against Sart -- and my suspicions of him are actually less compelling than for some other players -- but unless he starts taking at least an occasionally active interest in the game, I'm afraid I won't be sorry to see him go no matter what his alignment turns out to be. EDIT: Realized that 'Sart' is not his RP name. I guess it must just be the common nickname for him?

    I... I don't... What theory do you subscribe to in which that possibly seems useful? Alvron makes a good point about Sart. I'm not committing there for now, because I want to hold my vote to use somewhere it will help, instead of just putting us in a different seven-way tie. I think that that's a valid direction of inquiry, though, and if one or two of you decide to vote for him, you'll probably have my vote. I will, however, pull off Mailliw73, though, because I'm not helping anyone there.

As I've said before, I think the rules need to be more like mandates about what a doctor can and cannot do than guidelines about what tends to work best. That said, though, I'm beginning to think that you have a point, and that in addition to the rules, we should have a list of 'Tips for New Doctors', or something along those lines.

I suppose I just presumed that, what with all the urgent crises and emergencies you fellows deal with, you sort of dispensed with all of that. No offense was intended, I assure you." Nowko cleared his throat. "Umm... you've got this, right? Like, this is totally routine? Because when you were telling her majesty how routine this is, I sort of got the impression that it... um... wasn't. And it's just that, well, you know, she's a really powerful public figure..." He trailed off uncomfortably.

    Neo, after a cycle is finished and its thread is locked, they attach that thread onto the end of the original game thread. The entire game thus far is archived there. I'm going to lay a vote on Mailliw73, for being suspiciously quiet, even after he's returned from his trip. It's not like he's just been idling; he's been remarkably active on QF7, especially compared to his radio silence over here. Maill, what do you have to say for yourself?

    That's absolutely fine, Doctor McNinja. As the (potential) fourth rule states, willful ignorance is never acceptable behavior for a doctor; we must ever seek more knowledge. It looks like our best bet is Dr. Seixa, now. We can't count on Doctor McNinja having returned in time to help.

    Unfortunately, Jain mentioned elsewhere that he's taking a potentially permanent break from the Social Groups forum. It's too bad; we could have used his panda charm. EDIT: added name for clarity. EDIT 2: Also, I think making our first emissary our trained assassin might send the wrong message. Then again, if you're willing to go with him, I'm sure you could smooth things over. He may be our best option at this point.

    The trouble is, Clanky, that, as others have remarked, we don't have a lot of time. This game is going to be over in a flash, and the longer we wait, the more advantage we give to the Lawmen. I think we need to start reaching some conclusions by next cycle, if not this one.

    What? Who signed us up for that? EDIT: I just got back from the War thread. It looks like a lot of us support involvement in this war. Should we put it to a vote? I'm willing to get behind it, as long as it is made clear that this does not ally us with the other participants in the War in any formal fashion.

    "Incentives Program". Dr. Heatherlocke, you are very good at your job. We've not been drawn in at all; I was merely requesting that we be appraised of the situation. As it stands, this incident appears to have been more or less resolved already, and there seems to be no reason for us to get involved. All that remains for the Court is to deal with the culprits, and that is by no means our problem. Does it sound similar? One is about never accepting that you may be wrong about something, the other is about always taking the opportunity to acquire new learning. If anything, they sit at cross purposes, but I feel that they can be brought together harmoniously.

    No, I don't want to know who has it, I want to know who had it, and which of the non-lynch kills was theirs. The Lawmen can't do anything about that now.

    His RP name was Doc Piffington; In the write-up, you keep referring to him as Pifferdoo. Show some respect for the dead, especially a dead doctor. If the man who had the smoking gun would like to speak up, I, for one, will be willing to entertain the possibility that this was an honest mistake. The Village thrives on information; only Eliminators would hold it back. Also, looking at the tags, I can't help but reflect on their original purpose. I have to smile at the thought of someone trying to find all posts related to 'he was behind the fridge'.

    Poison! Why, I'm sure some of our number know something about that -- we are doctors, after all. Could you be bothered to give us a more complete explanation of the details, your majesty? Doctor, I think we can all agree that we are glad to have you here. If there is anyone who approaches Dr. Seixa in doctorliness, it's you. Also, Dr. Heatherlocke, 'blackmail' is such a harsh word. I would argue that it was more a case of... well... I've got nothing. Isn't making up political doublespeak your job? I think we need a more condensed ruleset. I still like the original two, as well as your rule 5 (the one about respect). However, I have the issue that most of these rules aren't rules; they're bits of advice. Also, they're all medically centric. Given that being a doctor is about education, how about: "Willful ignorance is never acceptable behavior for a doctor". It's not funny, but not all the rules have to be, and this one helps take steps toward actually determining an ideological identity for ourselves.

    The thing is, Phatt, that by making it between the two of you, we both keep others from interfering in the vote, as well as -- sorry, but it's true -- keeping ourselves out of the running. That said, you've been a great deal more active, so I'll lay my vote on dowanx.

    Yeah. Ordinarily I wouldn't say something without context like that, but I thought it would be fine, since my post directly followed his. And my vote on The Doctor was never meant to last through the cycle, whether he succumbed to the pressure or not; It was just a viral marketing campaign. I may be an unscrupulous recruiter, but I'm not that cruel. Nor would I give up my final vote just to recruit one member.
