  1. Actually, I think that Breaths are easier to remove from skeletons, since their shape is no longer super close to that of a living organism. I think that you could theoretically create a weapon of Nightblood's caliber if you were to use the right Command fueled with enough Bio-Chromatic Breaths, and that being made out of bone would most likely change it's properties.
  2. I'm a little confused by your answer. I thought that the Blessing of Presence gave you enhanced focus, sharpened memory, resistance to madness, and the inability to fall unconscious due to shock. Also, the Blessing of Presence does provide you with at least some protection from Hemalurgic control, so doesn't that make it better than the Blessing of Stability, which doesn't have any other enhancements? Okay, that does make sense though.
  3. Here's a quote from Brando Sando himself on the matter So yeah, it's doable, but it probably won't do much. In addition, if you used a Gemstone's color to fuel Awakening it will effect the Gemstone for Soulcasting purposes.
  4. I wonder if wielding Nightblood would make such an effect achievable.
  5. It is said in this WoB that the Lord Ruler had Hemalurgic spikes. It got me thinking, why would the Lord Ruler want Hemalurgic spikes in himself? Wouldn’t that just open himself up to Ruin’s influence more? Plus, he already has all of the powers of the Metallic Arts, so why would he even want them? Here are a few ideas I had to explain why he would do this. 1. It may be that he had a Hemalurgic spike granting him Feruchemical gold. Even though he could already heal using his own Feruchemical compounding, he would still be subject to having his natural ability stolen by someone else via Hemalurgy. If he had another source granting him the ability to tap his goldminds though, he could survive the spiking and then use his health reserves to repair the damage done to him. This seems like the most logical ability he would have given himself, because of it would help secure his personal safety. 2. He may have somehow given himself the Blessing of Stability to aid in preventing insanity due to his unnaturally long life and the psychological pressures he was facing. I’m pretty sure he didn’t do this one because it should have warped him into a Hemalurgic construct, like a Koloss, but the benefit of such an enhancement would have been tempting to someone in a position like his. Not only that, but he had a intimate understanding of Hemalurgy due to his ascension, so if anyone could have found a way to bypass the mutating side-effects of Hemalurgically enhanced attributes, it would have been Rashek. 3. He gave himself enhanced Allomantic Soothing powers or Allomantic Steel powers. This would help explain why he was such a powerful Soother, or why he was able to push of trace metals in glass and stone, but he likely could have achieved these effects even without Hemalurgic spikes, since he had already made himself such a powerful Allomancer by using the Well of Ascension. He might have just done it to pull off these impressive effects with marginally less effort, seeing as how he seemed either too lazy or too prideful to kill people himself most of the time.
  6. I thought that the power that coalesced as the Atium was going to regrow eventually, meaning that it was still separate from the rest of Harmony, preventing the imbalance of Ruin and Preservation due to that specific reason. Hence the reason why the 4th Wax and Wayne book being called "The Lost Metal"; Atium is going to return.
  7. The only new powers to be discovered would be those that belong to god metals and their alloys. So if a Ferring has the ability to store and tap the power associated with a god metal alloyed with their own metal, then that should work. Sounds like this is actually what happened with the "Atium" Mistings in Mistborn; they were really electrum Mistings, so they could burn the Atium even though it was tainted with traces of electrum.
  8. Welcome to the 17th Shard! You know, that actually sounds like a very clever way to find new allomantic metals in a cheaper, safer way. I think that it should be possible, though of course you'd need a full Feruchemist in order to discover any new powers, as only they would be able to use store and use them.
  9. I suppose that makes sense. I just thought that it was a combination of Preservation and Ruin that made the Feruchemists.
  10. Is the blessing of stability weaker than the blessing of presence, since the blessing of presence gives you other mental enhancements in addition to making you harder to control? As a side note, does the blessing of stability make your spiritweb less likely to crack when you've suffered trauma, thus making it harder for external investiture to get in?
  11. Assuming that you could find a way to bypass the physical mutations of giving yourself Hemalurgic spikes filled with human attributes (such as being a shapeshifter, such as a kandra), and you found a way to combine multiple Hemalurgic charges in one spike (possibly by using Raysium), could you use a super charged Hemalurgic copper spike to give yourself abilities that you'd find in the movie Limitless? Kind of a lot that you'd need to overcome, but if possible it would be one of the most powerful abilities that you could get.
  12. If you were to go to the cognitive realm on Roshar and implant one or more Hemalurgicly charged copper spikes into a lesser spren, could you grant it sapience? Would you then be able to bond it like a radiant spren? Would it be easier to bond because of the holes in its spiritweb?
  13. It's true that there would be some resistance that the soul would exert, but Bondsmiths are very powerful in terms of raw investiture. If anything other than a Shard can effect your spiritual aspect, it's a Bondsmith. Also, the Lord Ruler didn't change his actual soul, just his physical body, which meant that his soul kept trying to move back to where it should have been because it thought that it should have been something else. I believe that most changes made to your soul would be temporary, but they could be maintained the way Soulstamps are; just give them some occasional upkeep.
  14. I think that the reason why the Fused are so much weaker than the radiants is simple: Odium doesn't care. The Fused may be weaker in their power, but he can just bring them back to life at minimal cost to himself. They're built to be investiture efficient so that he doesn't need to spend very much on their creation, thus giving him an edge against other Shards in a direct confrontation. So long as they get the job done, and he doesn't need to waste personal power for their eventual victory, he's fine with them loosing the majority of the time.
  15. A fascinating idea. Perhaps someone who wasn't an Elantran, but who studied the use of Aons intensely, could create these than give them to Elantrians to make work. Perhaps you could even make more advanced Elantrian equations work this way if you got detailed enough.
  16. Yeah, I suppose that both sides of Roshar's war would have implemented the use of Aluminum in this way if it did that.
  17. Yeah, I suppose that makes sense. I was also thinking about when Jasnah used Soulcasting to fill a large hole in the final battle of OB, and how much Stormlight that would have taken. Also, since radiants have a limited amount of Stormlight that they can hold at once, they wouldn't be able to achieve HUGE effects with Surgebinding, even if they had had enough infused gemstones nearby or an open Perpendicularity. I suppose that it could be a limitation similar to Allomancy, actually.
  18. Are there any jobs that are unique to the Worldhopping community, or jobs that Worldhoppers would have a special advantage on? I know that they could trade special exotic goods from one world to another, but what else might they be specially qualified for with their knowledge of the greater Cosmere and (presumed) access to Perpendicularities?
  19. Can a Radiant only use Stormlight held within their body to fuel their surges, or can they use stormlight that is near them, but not currently held within them? If they can only use stormlight within their bodies, how did Jasnah use her Soulcasting abilities in WoK without glowing?
  20. We've seen aluminum block investiture, and souls are made up of investiture, so if you were to trap someone inside an aluminum box as they were dying, could you prevent their spirit from escaping to the Beyond?
  21. I thought that it was Allomancers who had power granted via Preservation, and that Feruchemists had an equal balance of Preservation and Ruin; I don't know that Preservation can make someone a Feruchemist, direct action or not.
  22. I'd also love to see more of Nalthis and how Awakening can be used by society. I'd especially like to see more "self Awakening", because I want to see its limitations.
  23. He might have gained Feruchemy using the method that the ancient Terris did. He did ascend temporarily, so he would have gained some knowledge in this area most likely. I believe that the reason he has the spike in his eye is to staple his spiritweb to his body, not necessarily to gain Feruchemical power.
  24. I just thought of this today; Forgery on Sel is basically just rearranging and creating false Connections, and overwriting your spiritweb. What you are, at your core of self. If a Bondsmith can alter your Connections in a similar manner, that would be terrifying. First of all, Forgery is very limited in what it can accomplish because it has very little investiture to work with. Bondsmiths, however, have access to more raw investiture than any other radiant, meaning that they may not need to rely on believability like a Forgery, they can just change themselves, or you, in any way they want. I can now envision a scene like this happening with Dalinar or Navani “Oh, you’re a 7000 year old Fused? Well, we wouldn’t want you to benefit from all that time training, let’s just remove the Connection to that time, maybe give it to my Windrunner over there. He’ll make much better use of it.” They also might be able to hack any magic system, since they can just rewrite their past to say that they gained access to it. Seems really, really powerful. Assuming that this is even something that can be done, of course.
  25. Thank you for finding it for me! Not going to lie, I spent over forty minutes trying to find it unsuccessfully.
