  1. Good point. They’re probably more of a perfect mix between the two, even though the concept of glory is not. Gloryspren probably embody a concept larger than glory, and were named that because people only saw that they were attracted to triumphance. Just like (dawnshard spoilers)
  2. My assumption would be the Stormfather Bondsmith is 100% Honor, the Sibling Bondsmith is 50/50, and the Nightwatcher Bondsmith is 100% Cultivation.
  3. I don’t have a wob, but I’m pretty sure the investiture in the gemstone is pulling other investiture from the spiritual realm into light. The amount of stormlight doesn’t decrease except through leaking. The light comes from other investiture in the spiritual realm.
  4. And then later he’s show up again and everyone would be confused why he’s not dead.
  5. Dalinar chose to make a new deal with Odium, without consulting anyone else for fear of losing the opportunity. Would you have made that deal? I would definitely choose risking myself to save the world. The question is the Stormfather. If Odium gets Dalinar, does he by extension get the Stormfather? If so, I’m out.
  6. Maybe. We know they can only lash other objects or people by extending voidlight, which makes sense with your theory because the voidlight is leaving the gemheart.
  7. I accept it! - Kaladin These words are accepted. - Dalinar
  8. We have a wob that the universal part of the third ideal is the “I will rise each time a better man.” The taking responsibility is Dalinar’s personal twist on it. I find it likely that Navani’s second oath will be nearly identical to Dalinar’s. Just because that is a general Bondsmith thing and most second oaths we’ve seen have been identical.
  9. Since when do perpendicularities open when radiants swear ideals. The only case we have of that is Dalinar, and he just happened to use a new ability of his right when he gained the ability.
  10. Riding the storm seems to be a Bondsmith thing for the Stormfather Bondsmith. The only times someone besides Dalinar has ridden the storm has been when the Stormfather specifically chose them to. It has nothing to do with being a Windrunner.
  11. I believe the sibling generated its own light. And now that they are bonded to Navani they have regained the ability to do so, even without Navani’s help.
  12. “I will not harm one to protect another.” The first oath is the same for all radiants. The second oath embodies the basic idea of the order. Windrunners will protect. Skybreakers will obey the law. Edgedancers will love/remember the unloved/forgotten. The third oath is a “higher ideal” because it raises the bar from the second oath. Windrunners will not make exceptions to protection. Skybreakers literally phrase their third oath as the oath of “choosing a higher law” to follow. Edgedancers will not only remember (passive) but will listen (active). The second and third oaths embody the first divine attribute of the order. And yes, I believe the Edgedancer oaths requires loving them as well, even if it’s not explicitly said. The fourth oath involves moving on from the past. This is the weakest in my theory. Windrunners forgive themselves for inability. Skybreakers go on a quest to deal with something in their past. The completion allows them to move on from whatever the quest is about. Edgedancers help others move on from their past. The fifth oath is similar to the third. It means obeying an even higher ideal. In fact, the highest possible for the order’s theme. Second oath is good, third is better, and fifth is best. However, the fifth ideal actually lightens the load of the radiant. Fifth oath examples: Windrunners recognize that both sides of a conflict (human and voidbringer) need protection from each other. Windrunners choose not to protect someone in order to avoid doing the opposite to the other side. Windrunners will still protect people from natural disasters and anything else that isn’t caused by a different person. Windrunners will seek to end conflict in a way that protects both sides. Skybreakers not only obey the law, they become the law. But by becoming the law, they can choose the law. I’m not sure what the Edgedancer oath is. The fourth and fifth oaths embody the second divine attribute. Windrunners accept their own inability, which is a major part of leadership. Also, by choosing not to protect, they instead dedicate their lives to leading other Windrunners and sending them to do the protecting. Skybreakers are confident now that they aren’t weighed down by their past. They are confident that they are correct because they embody the law, which they view as correct. Edgedancers heal others of negative aspects of their pasts.
  13. Maybe Shallan’s memory resonance allows her to create a sort of ‘memory’ of the geolocation resonance that she gets from Jasnah. This memory of the resonance let’s her use it while away from Jasnah, just like her normal memory ability lets her draw pictures of something while away from it. On second thought, I don’t think that’s true just because it’s way too far down the rabbit hole. I’m not even sure I agree that Shallan is Jasnah’s squire.
  14. Assuming this is true, is Shallan proof that you can’t be both a radiant and a squire in a different order?
  15. Kell always claims there is another secret. Funny enough, this is perfectly in line with lightweaver philosophy. He works with a kandra, a master of disguise similar to a lightweaver. We know next to nothing about Mare. Is it really that implausible that Mare was a lightweaver? She bonded a spren after the recreance but before Jasnah. She and Kell had a child, but Mare kept him hidden from Kell with her lightweaving because she knew that Kell didn’t want to have kids. She always pushed for Kell to want kids so she could reveal Mraize. Mare took Maize with her to the Pits of Hathsin when she and Kell were sentenced to go there. Mare knew that she was going to let herself get killed for Kell, so she showed Mraize the shardpool she used to get onto the planet. As my last argument, I submit Mraize’s chicken. He always brings a colorful one around with him because Scadrial had very little color at the time he was there. He likes the reminder of color in the cosmere. For the next person: Jezrien was a shard vessel. Moash took up the shard when he killed Jezrien.
  16. We’ve seen windspren use adhesion in pranks. We’ve seen gemstones enhance lifespren, which in turn enhanced plant growth. People on Roshar argue whether or not a spren actually creates what it is named after. All of this points to the idea that cousin spren might each be able to do a different surge. Spoiler for Dawnshard: Therefore, I am absolutely sure that luckspren are the cousin spren of skybreakers.
  17. Before the recreance, there were almost for sure a few dead eyes from radiants that just couldn’t make the cut. Is it possible that this was the single occurrence of sja-anat corrupting a deadeye beforehand?
  18. We know that Adonalsium could have shattered into completely different shards. When he existed, the shards were completely whole and acted as one, larger shard. When Harmony put Ruin and Preservation together, it created a different scenario from Adonalsium, where the shards were still separate shards held by the same person. While Adonalsium may or may not have been part of his own death, it was not because he couldn’t do anything; he could do anything.
  19. These all seem actually opposite to shard intents. Ruin has one of the worst future sights among the shards because the future wouldn’t really change his plans of destruction. Preservation’s godmetal grants connection, the opposite of keeping things the same. Endowment’s godmetal seems geared towards keeping memories for yourself, rather than giving things to others. Odium is all about the void, taking emotions away, but Raysium conducts it instead. Etc. Maybe godmetals perform the opposite of the shard for some reason? Does that have to do with the fact that amethysts, the gemstones associated with metal, create reversers instead of conjoiners?
  20. Originally I thought we didn’t have the translations for any language, but then I saw people translating women’s script. So I wanted to ask, does anyone know how to translate horneater? If so, could you show how? Thanks!
  21. I think whimsy is the only shard that Brandon poorly named. All of the others are nouns, and this is an adjective!? It consistently sounds and looks wrong to me because of this.
  22. Maybe at the beginning of book five Adolin and Shallan will see the Stormfather and his warning just before they leave Lasting Integrity.
  23. I believe that the nightwatcher Bondsmith can go wherever they want. The sibling Bondsmith has to stay in the tower; not because of proximity to the sibling, but because the Bondsmith becomes part of the tower fabrial. They can no more leave the tower than a flamespren can leave a fabrial. That said, I don’t have any proof.
