    Soulstamp!!

That's really cool! Damn! What have you written into it?
  2. Strongly agreed!
  3. I felt that if one didn't know anything about Stormlight it wouldn't give anything away, but once one started reading after playing it would give some fun extra tidbits of recognition! I'll see if we can't play with four people then @Falkir, and yeah - need to try some more of the quests! Have you tried it solo yet?
  4. @Bzhydack did sort of reply on this, the shadow of the shadow would be the Ideal Self of the object. But I guess the clothes of someone entering Shadesmar will recieve some sort of cognisance as their bead will "dissapear" in order to remember everything that happens to them while in the CR. The items buildt in the CR might have some sort of internal feeling of self as long as it is inside the CR, which turns into the spren/bead once it leaves?
  5. This would be the answer regarding the two first questions, just in reverse. But for the last question I'm a bit lost..!
  6. Well you sure live up to your name!
  7. Your clothes will have beads, right - so if we turn this question into a simpler one: What happens to the beads of your clothes as you enter Shadesmar?
  8. So playing this game without giving away many spoilers is doable, the gameplay doesn't really force you to acknowledge any spoilers but I think anyone who has played this and then reads Stormlight may find things they remember from the game which might be fun for them - but there are for sure spoilers in the art and in the name of the cards so beware if you want to play before with someone un-initiated! We did a couple runs (still working out if we understood all the rules right) and the game isn't all what I hoped for, but that might be because we did co-op and not really counted the score. We liked the runes (basically two-side dice), but the core gameplay loop wasn't all that exciting unfortunately. At times we just progressed because we had to, not because we had fun... Got to try it a few more rounds to see if his is a recommendation. If you include some roleplay I guess it could be more fun however!
  9. I agree on the assesment of Ruins investiture reacting to the presence of Preservations Investiture, it makes much sense. This is what I have concluded myself. Wonder if somebody knows better..!
  10. I'm re-reading Mistborn and got to the part where Kelsier ruins (pun intended) the Pits of Hathsin, and I was wondering if we know why the crystals break from the effect of allomancy? I've googled and searched and thrawled WoBs but can't seem to find what I'm looking for, because most old theories I find suggest that it doesn't break from all kinds just when pushed/pulled by steel/iron. This is supposedly also why Mare could be sent to the pits (with or without being spiked first, but lets just say she isn't). My problem with this is that as soon as Kelsier burns Tin he hears a crystal crack! I'm not bothered with Mare being sent to the Pits with all the fuss she could destroy it, she'd maybe get the slightest amount of tin through traces in food or water but would be killed the first week she didn't supply a geode and thus problem solved for the Ventures/TLR... So, educate me! Edit: Also, why do they break from allomancy?
  11. So I just picked up my Call to Adventure: The Stormlight Archive and got to say, frikkin' love the art! I've never been that good at imagining what I read, so nothing really conflicts with what was in my mind and thus it feels so good to see it all drawn out! I haven't really had time to play it yet, but had a look at the Worldbuilding sheet and the cards and see that there is potentially some spoilers here. The thing is that I have one friend really into the Cosmere and a girlfriend who has just started - and we just don't want to spoil her too much..! Does anyone have any experience playing the game yet? How much spoilers would you say one gets? It's starting to be a couple months since I last read WOK/WOR, how early would you say we learn about Odium? Other than the art, Odium, the Fused and a few other small things I'd say we could play it as an introduction to Stormlight and entice her to read the books!
  12. Hm, I like it! So Aimians are stalked by Fortune?
  13. So Fortune is your destiny? What is spiritually planned for you in your future? Charging something with Ruin's Fortune changes the destiny to be more "ruinous", charging something with Cultivation's Fortune makes it grow/develop, Honor makes it motivate honorable action etc. He know where though, just not what/why? For that I have absolutely nothing! I forgot about the contagion...
  14. I think Eshonai at some point noted that the humans wear all their emotions more than Singers, and thinks it is due to their lack of rythms. Humans needs to smile, laugh, emote more bodily than the Parsh who can just attune to a rythm to convey their emotion. Edit: Found the quote.
  15. I'm mostly intrigued by your idea, but I still struggle slightly to find your definition of Fortune. I don't feel like your post makes a clear definition. Fundamental impulses that causes change? While we might interpret how a ball will bounce for two or three bounces, Hoid might see the most likely few hundred bounces. Aimians' Curse of Kind may be a complete lack of foresight in this manner, if you never can interpret the effect of your actions you are doomed to feel unlucky! These are by far perfect analogies, and I'm not going to challenge your theory. But I do crave a more direct explanation of what your definiton of Fortune is!
  16. Aren't we all sort of always seeing what will happen next? If a ball is thrown you do know where it will land and how it is expected (ie. the most likely way) the bounce. You could attribute that to deduction, but maybe if you were string Fortune you'd just be oblivious to cause and effect?

    Pixar Lamp

This is quite good, can't wait for that Rockbud though!
  18. Dang how I love these..!
  19. If you make anything into gas instead of metal it will spread quite alot more..! 1L of water at room temperature = 1367 L water vapour at room temperature (if you had a magical way of just turning liquid to gas without changing pressure or temperature )
  20. How did you select people to dag, I wonder! I feel like an imposter, but I guess that makes me the Hero Of Ages? 1. Joined because I had questions that needed answers, stayed because I had answers that required questions! 2. I spend too much time here, especially during work hours... I'm supposed to be doing reasonable things, not making a lecture on the metallurgy of the middle ages! 3. The welcoming party of this Forum is amazing, and also the length to which people like to discuss and converse on things nobody knows anything about! Good thread idea, btw!
  21. Fossil fuels is a very Earth-centric term for sure, as the source of carbon comes from decomposition of organic matter. Carbon sources for use as fuel however can be made fairly easily! If you have such an understanding of metallurgy a society with Allomancy requires, creating carbon sources for metal refining should be open knowledge. But then I searched the Mistborn-triology for "coal" and found this in Hero of Ages chapter 26: So there are some coal mines for sure! It might be that when Scadrial was formed, Ati and Leras copy-pasted so much from other planets that coal sources came along "unintended"..?
  22. If you want some really cheap metal go aluminium foil, rip it to pieces and crumble them up a bit! It should do ok with water as well, just op up the bottle once in a while and rinse it all out ofter the evening is over. Should be a problem drinking it either, but I'm not goign to recommend that! Oil will have plenty of colour to make the metal less visible, and may also be a source of a smell- and/or yucky-problem. Any alchohol will also evaporate as with water.
  23. That is a fair point! The toxicity of most allomantic metals is actually quite high..!
  24. That's more genious than I thought of, good thinking..! Can't quote all of that @robardin, but I get your thinking. However, I still wonder if the piece of metal is seen as a whole thing or as the atoms it consists of (there are some Cognitive and Spiritual aspects of this we could get into, does a piercing see itself as a whole item or as atom bonded together?) - and if the former how would it burn? We do know metals burn outside-in when in your stomach, but then the entire thing is inside you. Would the same go when only part of the metal is inside you? Can you see only the part of a piercing that is outside the body using Steelsight? Bah, I have so many questions... And maybe more than what Brandon has thought of..!
  25. I think you could say that the body of a Radiant is continously updated to match the Spiritual Ideal Self, which is why it will heal up the weirdest and oldest of wounds as long as the Radiant him/herself thinks they shouldn't be wounded that way. Ie. Lopen getting his arm back but Kaladin keeping his scar.
