Just to show what I mean. Row Interlude 9 RoW Chapter 111 Then after the one you quoted. RoW Chapter 113 I also don't think that Szeth would call Herald a fool, even after a crazy fight. He is too respectful of them. That doesn't detract from your theory at all, but still.

This is a cool idea, but it doesn't scale very well. By era 4, Radiants would have to travel throughout the whole cosmere without running out of Light. And spheres are just not going to cut it. They don't hold much Light relative to their size and are too easy to break. So they would need either a source of renewable Light nearby or something with a much larger capacity and Investiture-density. This might be where the whole purified/refined Investiture thing comes into play.

In the last quote you provided, Szeth is talking about Taravangian, not Ishar. Dalinar is confused and thinks he's talking about what Ishar said because he doesn't know about the conversation Szeth and Mr.T had in interlude 9.
-
I believe Szeth meant Taravangian here. Mr. T knew that Neturo was dead.

Kelsier is in Fortnite. That really is something I'd never guess, huh. It really is a kind of announcement where I'm so shocked that there is nothing to say. -

Elantris during reod wasn't the best place to be in, either. The only place that could really work is probably Halandren. I just love the idea of someone trying to imitate a Highstorm on a budget, like with leafblowers, buckets of water mixed with dirt, and throwing rocks by hand. -

Something we'd never guess: Cosmere theme park. Brandon builds a church. Cowriting a novel in a different genre. A tv show based on some of his less popular series. -
I understand that, and it is in part a point I wanted to make. A thing described as warping air and causing explosions doesn't have to be related to Anti-Investiture, but because it looks and acts similarly to it, saying that Aon Daa uses Anti-Investiture is a viable supposition until we know better. Edit: Personally, I think that Splintering uses Anti-Investiture or Anti-rhythms to separate individual Splinters and to make it so that a Shard under attack can't simply take it back. Shards have an understanding of the cosmere and the way it works on a fundamental level, so saying that all Shards know about it wouldn't be much of a reach.

Do you think Shallan will have a child?
ScadrianTank replied to Anna9123's topic in Stormlight Archive
If she does, I hope it won't happen in a while. After RoW, I wouldn't want to leave a pet in the same room as her, not to mention a kid. -
I meant that you don't have to keep Awakened constructs supplied Investiture for them to work.
-
I hope he ascends to Ambition before punching any more full Shards because Dalinar and Mr. T might multiply him by zero for an attack like that.
-
Skaze and Seons are basically spren of Dominion and Devotion. So it depends on your definition of a spren. If you accept a self-aware sapient chunk of Investiture a spren, then Shards don't even have to travel to Roshar - just create a Splinter and leave it on its own for a bit.
-
That so far is important because the last time we saw them, Idrians were not fond of Awakening, and some cultures on Sel didn't like Elantrians that much. It will take time for every culture to adapt to the magitech. Do we know that for a fact? IIRC, to make one, you have to blank your Identity, then store the ability to use another power in a nicrosil metalmind. There doesn't seem to be much need for harmonium. It does look like homeworlds will have a lot more influence over their colonies, and Scadrians have the largest advantage in the long run. The proximity and Connection requirements for Invested resources make it easier to settle their own systems with a large difficultly spike anywhere further. Colonization strategies would have to adapt to this by producing more tools that don't require Invested power sources, for example, the medallions or Nalthian awakened blades. If a colony can switch over to mostly using conventional technology once it's established, then independent colonies might be more common than we fear. But I agree, a colony going completely independent is unlikely - the best they can hope for would be pledging themselves to a different Shardworld. It really depends on whether they can remain self-sufficient by using only conventional tech or not.

That's it, thank you. My brain seems to have merged them.

"I CONTROL ALL THINGS THAT CAN BE GROWN, NURTURED. THAT INCLUDES THE THORNS." And Dalinar saw only red.

Someone asked Brandon about them before RoW released. There is a possibility that the two aren't related, but knowing Brandon and the fact that he has a person whose job it is to keep track of the timeline, it might be that some of the Fused are traveling around the cosmere. Speaking of timeline, here is a WoB that mentions that Shadows is before Stormlight timeline-wise. For some reason, I remember something about it being set around book 7 of Stormlight, but I can't find anything like that anywhere. Maybe I'm just confusing some things, though.

Oh, I was thinking about Sharblades in hammer form, like Huio did in Dawnshard. My bad. Still, I'm pretty sure that wearing plate Dalinar could kill just as well with a regular hammer and a small delay, lol.

It's tough to discuss Plate objectively because Brandon wrote it as magical power armor from the start. While we see it stop rocks and arrows now, it will stop bullets and explosions in a decade, and it will stop lasers or blasters in a few centuries. This makes addressing all the posts with calculations for cracking Plate difficult because I'm afraid that Brandon might just go with a rule of cool in the end. That said, the largest advantages Shardplate provides is that it's immune to penetration and can be regrown with Stormlight. So even if you created a weapon that can reliably shatter a section of Plate, you could never kill its wearer in one hit. I mean, you can, but that would require so much force that the wearer would die of the impact strength, even if the Plate itself is still in place. Regrowing part can enhance this advantage even further if it's fast enough. I guess we'll see in book 5 if it is or not. At the time of era 2, the best way to crack the plate is probably a "stopping" rifle, aka Ranet's shotgun, aka a gun that shoots cartridges around half the size of an adult person's wrist in diameter. IRL hunters in Africa used them to stop charging rhinos and other large and angry animals. A slightly more advanced solution would probably be something like a small HESH shell to kill a Radiant with a concussive blast without the need to break the Plate. However, I'm not sure if downscaling it to a reasonable size for a handheld weapon can be done while keeping enough explosive to produce a noticeable effect. (An awesome minute-long video that shows how HESH works.) The pinnacle of non-Invested weaponry for use against Plate is a particle and/or an energy beam because it starts to deal damage as soon as the body is exposed. I read this and remembered that Shardplate is conductive. Then I imagined a Singer Radiant in Stormform, with a ground wire running to a point on a finger or palm making their best Emperor Palpatine impression. Kind of scary. Did I miss something? What's so special about shardhammers?
