  1. I'm completely new at forum mafia, (and don't know how much to take from the RP bits) so I'm still trying to firgure out how to...think? here, but I'm slightly suspicious of Ventyl, mostly because claiming to be a radiant seems suspicious just because I would assume it paints a target on your back. However, I really have no clue, because I'm completely new to Forum Mafia. : ) I'm still trying to figure things out, but I figured I'd try and be a good sport by posting something, as it's been a day since the start.
  2. I'm surviving by rereading the other books over and over again. Currently on my 6th read of WoR in the past month
  3. I assumed that that was referencing the surge of transportation...or maybe transformation... like, calling...from somewhere else (shadesmar)? whether that be calling yourself or objects?
  4. oh whoops sorry I was originally doing that but I've become a bit obsessed and crazed. I only discovered the books this month yet read each of them at least 5 times through. I needed something else lol.
  5. That was a which one question. Kaladin got it at 3 but he didn't start as a squire.
  6. Er, I think these are minor questions? Who is the Ardent that wanted to draw a picture of someone from bridge 4 in WoR (okay probably not important at all but still I'm wondering because Kaladin thinks it's strange and I trust Kaladin) Will rock end up back in the horneater peaks? will he feel obligated because of what happened at the end of OB? who tf is Katarotam? Does Kaladin being called "Child of Tanavast" Have to do with Syl? Could Syl actually be the last Honorspren created by Honor/Tanavast? (but I guess the Stormfather is some sort of Tanavast because of cognitive shadows and all that?) Can the Fused and the Heralds see into shadesmar? Why did Lopen become a "full knight" with no sword after swearing only the second Ideal? Did Teft get the same fancy dramatic frost glyph at Ideal 2 or 3? How come people don't get the fancy color experience when around Vasher? Also, where did Vasher go? (supposedly he's in OB but that's the book I've read the least.) Is it possible for Vasher to see when people are using stormlight (but not enough to be visible) because of his heightening? Also what heightening is he at? because he doesn't really need breaths to survive anymore so I guess technically 5th at least. Are there spiders on Roshar? I mean we have evidence that Laral is in the story somewhat as of the Lirin chapter sent out in the Nov. Newsletter. Wait what? Where might I find that?
  7. where is it said that it doesn't allow healing? Szeth healed from wounds while he was bonded to the Windrunner Honor blade
  8. Plot twist: Tanavast's cognitive shadow separates from the Stormfather and drinks up Honor yeah, I was thinking that at first when Dalinar was all "I am Unity" that he would somehow drink up Honor and Odium, but I think that would be plenty different than having Preservation and Ruin, which kinda...counteract? eachother? kinda? I'm waiting to see more of Cultivation and what she's all about. I'm fully expecting Dalinar to not Ascend and to die by the end of the first 5 with a big part being because a lot of people expect him to Ascend.
  9. I was responding to a post saying that Rock never swore the first Ideal, saying that he did and what he didn't say was the "I will protect those who cannot protect themselves" . you then responded saying "even those I hate", which I took for you correcting me saying that that was the second Ideal. Sorry if I misunderstood that? Teft swore that, as the Third Ideal giving him his shardblade which allowed them to get to Thaylen City, not as the Second Ideal. I assume he swore that off screen.
  10. That's the third Ideal. - Life before Death, Strength before Weakness, Journey before Destination - I will protect those who cannot protect themselves - I will protect those I hate Still a bit confused about why Lopen became a "full Windrunner" after only the second Ideal. I assume it has to do with him having a Spren already maybe? and there being an order of Windrunner unlike when Kaladin was becoming a knight? I also wonder if Lopen has his shardblade as we never see Teft swear the second oath so Idk if he got the whole frosty glyph thing like Lopen got after the second or like Kaladin got after the third. I kind of got sidetracked.
  11. He swore the first oath in OB chapter 37? Do you mean the "I will protect those who can not protect themselves" ?
  12. Technically that's where I started, but I read it many years ago before I knew who Brandon Sanderson was and what the Cosmere was. By the time I started actually reading his books knowing they were his books I had forgotten about Elantris to the point where all I could tell you of the book was that I remembered there was "apple and bread." TWoK was my entry point to the Cosmere if you didn't count my reading of Elantris years back. I tried to read it for years before actually getting around to reading it. Because of my reluctance to read the entire book, I was confused at the Heralds and didn't understand what was going on. I also for some reason thought that Kaladin was Kalak. Yeah. I really had to force myself to read the Dalinar/Adolin PoVs and the Interludes in TWoK and I definitely didn't skip the Shallan/Dalinar flashbacks on my first reading of WoR/OB.
  13. aww give Nightblood a friend! or...something he wants to destroy?
  14. SA: Nohadon is Tanavast okay maybe not. Nohadon is a cognitive shadow that has been trying to work behind the scenes such as Kelsier did in Secret History. Dalinar will either Ascend or die by the end of arc 1 I don't know if this is a theory but Moash is...I dont know I was wondering if even though he was given the sword if he's somehow going to be a Fused. Miscellanious Kelsier Theories I Have Subscribed To/Thought of that probably already exist: Kelsier stapled himself to a Mistwraith but with Trellium. Kelsier is somehow involved with/running the Ghostbloods. Or maybe he has his own organization. I refuse to believe that Kelsier didn't get himself more directly involved in the Cosmere. Kelsier is going to be the antagonist of Era 3. I think that he is not the kind of person to be the protagonist-even in Era 1 he wasn't really the protagonist. He seems to really only care about his agenda. You can say that maybe he changed after seeing things he saw in Secret History, but I find it unlikely.
  15. Erm, I have read the rules? I did not see somewhere in there saying a specific thing to do to sign up? Is there something specific I need to do?
  16. I've been seeing some things about people speculating that Szeth might reach the 5th Ideal, and this is a reason I don't think he will- He is lowkey insane and admits that he doesn't know what is right anymore. Additionally I wonder if a lot of people who join the Skybreakers do so either because they might be executed if they don't, or they are completely in awe of the fact that Knights Radiant still exist. The Squires that we see with Szeth (why do I keep accidentally writing Sazed...) seem way too eager to follow the Knight's orders - to kill people - to be there just because they need to find a higher moral code to follow. I would love to see some new Skybreakers that become Skybreakers because of something else other than "They don't know what to do, so they follow blindly." People followed the codes in Alethkar because they believed in what they would do, not because they didn't know what to do. Of course, I guess that's why there are other orders? I mean, Dalinar isn't a Skybreaker. Anyways-
  17. Er, Are you talking about during the fight? or is there something I'm missing. because were two of the nine not Ash and Taln? I mean, I know they get books in the back 5 so...but am I missing something or is that what you mean?
  18. If they look anything like Amaram is described, I really wouldn't like to see one.
  19. Mhm. My brother worked to get me to read Mistborn and SA for the past 4 years, up until a month ago, and now that I'm in deep he gets frustrated when I talk about it
  20. I think both Skybreakers and Elsecallers are terrifying. Skybreakers have the Surge of Gravitation that basically allow them to throw anyone in the air and there isn't anything that person can really do about it. They also have the surge of Division which I don't really know anything about but it has to be more useful than the Surge of Adhesion that the Windrunners have. Soulcasting is just completely terrifying as shown by Jasnah in OB where she just basically thinks and she can just...kill...someone. Just...turn them into something else? that's just terrifying. I really wouldn't care what side they are on if anyone can soulcast living things as well as Jasnah can I wouldn't want to be anywhere near them. I would say that this combined with the fact that the Surge of Transportation would allow them to pop up wherever, but is seems that to leave shadesmar they would have to find a perpendicularity so maybe I would change this to Lightweavers - because theoretically they could make you think your surroundings are different than they are as well as soulcast you into whatever. Assuming they are practiced enough. Also my mind Immediately went to who would be the deadliest assassin so I think it would also depend on the situation. Regardless I am terrified of surgebinders and if I lived on Roshar I think I would be 99% against the reforming of the Knights Radiant. I mean, probably until I saw the Fused...but anyways-
  21. Killmonger of Wakanda
  22. This reminds me of Nightblood eating Szeth and lift being like "Huh yeah I mean if I was really hungry..." The fact that all the books are white though...Irks me...
  23. I didn't even think about the fact that people already didn't trust Dalinar too much Before Amaram's army swapped sides, and now all of a sudden the Assassin in White is serving him? I wonder if anyone is going try and spread rumors that Dalinar had the assassin do what he did.
