  1. "She...she's not..." He doesn't understand it, he doesn't have the information. "She's fine, physically." He's pretty sure, anyway. "But she isn't responding."
  2. "There was a fight," he says slowly. "It's taken care of. And Tvora..." Breathe. "Tvora's gone." His voice cracks.
  3. "Oh." Martin relaxes. "Uh... sorry?" He should have noticed that the tree was hollow. What's happening to his observational skills?
  4. Nice! What pattern did you use? Or did you draft it yourself? The blue looks perfect!
  5. Sooooooooo *walks in with a pizza to a room on fire, people screaming*

I'm not a negative person.  I like to think I'm pretty chill.

I genuinely don't have any idea what is going on, and I'm not sure I like it.

Oh, I'll come around to it.  But hole-ee woe, that came out of left field.

    Bonus reaction to friends:

I read Mistborn at 12 (just barely 12, too), and iirc the stereotypical Fortnite kid is 12, so the only problem I see is the "they wrote a book about this fortnite dude" thing, but chances are, those people won't care enough to come to the Shard.

Is Fortnite really a "children's" game? I mean, yes, children play it, but when it was originally created, did the developers think "Man, I cant wait for a bunch of six-year-olds to buy this shooter game and spend hours killing each other brutally?"

It was a HUGE deal when it came out. I was in middle school and in leadership (which i hated with a burning passion) and we made all these Fortnite posters and so I have no love whatsoever for the game but... Oh well.

I do think it's funny how people are reacting to it, though, to be honest.

  6. Ooh, I hadn't seen that, it does look pretty good! Not sure if I imagined Kelsier like that, though. I always thought of him having a somewhat rougher face.
  7. That was my first thought too. 'Wait, it's May, right? Did I misread the calendar and it's April 1st?'
  8. The cover looks so good! I'm half inclined to make that jacket a sewing project...
  9. I like the title and cover! The color scheme looks really good, the pink and orange look stunning against the gray of Spensa's outfit in my opinion, and I like the way Cytonic sounds when you say the three titles together.
  10. "What the - " Martin scrambles back, trips, falls flat on his back. He rolls to one side, coming back up on his feet in a crouch, heart pounding. "Who's there?"
  11. Ooh, I'm a sentient awakened object!

What kind of object would you all say I am?

      Hmmmm...

      A lamp.

  12. This is the first time I've heard the whole set of epigraphs together, and I think I have a new favorite monologue. Also, congratulations, Chaos!
  13. I read The Restaurant at the End of the Universe. It was a really fast read, I was a bit surprised, even though I should have expected it.
  14. Hey, @Kalak_, the mods prefer it if you edit your original post to add things rather than double post.
  15. I have a Thing about popular movies/songs/books (it's called 'It's popular? Well now I don't want to interact with it'), but I finally gave in and listened to Wellerman, and I've now listened about twenty times. So yeah. Sea shanties.
