  1. About a third into Towers of Midnight. After finishing WoT, my current shortlist (not that short) is, in order The Licanius Trilogy, James Islington The Powder Mage Trilogy, Brian McClellan The Sun Eater, Christopher Ruocchio (thanks, Sprennie! ) A Wizard of Earthsea, Ursala K. Le Guin His Dark Materials, Philip Pullman Has anyone read any of those, and if so, how were they? I did my best to check the content levels in them, but basically I don't want anything too much more than Brandon's works as far as language/other PG-13+ content goes. So if I missed something, I'd like to know, thanks! Any other suggestions are welcome, but making the list longer is both good and bad in some ways
  2. Yeah. The one for getting it in two is Taravangian on a good day
  3. Hmm, I was going to disagree because math (even if Archer's not wrong about math being a valid elim tell ) but I'm not qualified to use probability in this case so it wouldn't be math, just instinct that tells me that 1 per doc is unlikely- but the Illwei point is valid, I like that. Pretty much that commits me to e!Bort which I'm honestly fine with :P. But then it means TJ/Orlok/maybe shadow is next and I like that less. I know I'm not Aman, figured I'd mention this anyway- I was paranoid due to the Archer vote apparently being in her wolf meta, and then she stayed on Striker earlier, but Devo had a point in the doc that since Illwei was pushing the Archer bus theory that makes her feel better about shadow, and I kind of agree, but also Illwei knows how to distance and I could see her saying that with a train that isn't pure. Am leaning towards v!shadow but I'm not stuck on it. No, Kas, shooting you will not help figure anything out My preference is please don't, or I guess if you do I can stop repeating myself :P. Someone said (maybe Devo herself) that the only way she votes Archer instead of Thaid is if she has a better role than Archer (which doesn't make sense anyway, you can still vote Thaid in that situation) but since Illwei was the elim with a good role that implies that Devo is not the elim with a good role, tbh I don't see the elims valuing a doctor over a RBer and I doubt they have a Monk. You have to remember that Bort voted Illwei before Illwei was in any danger at all and wasn't at EoD to do anything if he wanted to. So his Illwei vote isn't a reason to v read him, imo. Bort would be my choice for a shot- fits the 1 elim per doc theory as well. Next choice would be Sibling, but idk if there's any doc stuff that would make you not want to shoot them. I know in my doc we discussed the timing of Sibling's vote being right after Tani retracted from Illwei- basically, Illwei was in danger temporarily, and then the second she wasn't in danger anymore Sibling showed up to vote Devo. How does a comment from me lead to a village read on a different player entirely? You label this as my 'pushing' but I've said it maybe twice in the doc, my insistence on v!Devo can be called a push but certianly not this. You make no mention of Aman, who has been pushing v!Striker for longer and more than I have, I just echo his read that Striker is TWTBAW. I'm not set on it either, it's a lean, but I do feel like e!Striker would have... some amount of self pres instincts, when he's shown to have basically none
  4. Sorry solving brain went either into the Fjorden doc or out the window Will summarize later. I’ll let @Devotary of Spontaneity mention anything she wants first since the limited half-conclusions we came to were a team effort
  5. >> Who put Orlok, Aman, and Araris on the same elim team xD Sorry for voting TUN, y’all. Idk if I’d have caught Orlok, but we’d have at least had a chance. I guess technically we still had a chance, but VC RNGs have been going the elims’ way for a few games now. @Amanuensis, you’re insane In the best way possible. You had me thanking you for getting me out of my tunnel when my gut was right all along, you had me CCing and doubting TJ when I had previously formed opinions on both. It was like the AG, except I didn’t have a MeerKas telling me to stay strong this time around. I’ll be… extremely careful the next time my gut doesn’t like you. Extremely careful. And we’ll see if I ever PM you again :P. Again, apologies to the village and especially TJ and Stick, for blowing that by voting TUN, we had a good run. Getting Araris D1 was amazing Even if Orlok was the only reason that happened. Thanks to all the people I had PMs with (even Aman… smh) and huge thanks to Kas for running the game and being so dedicated to the amazing writeups. Praise the Light. At the next turning of the wheel, all will be put in proper order.
  6. Excellent Few things to note- Devo's 156 pages she looked through was actually only 4, Exp has 156 but it didn't take that long. Still though, that shows some effort, and I feel like an elim would have just ran with my assumption of more instead of correcting me Who wants to bet Striker is purposely voting a second late on the opposite train to an elim as a TWTBAW strategy? xD Probably not but it is funny Ok so that's the second time we got an elim with a last minute train, maybe we should keep doing that. Again probably not but I do want to look at the movements around that, maybe I should revise my Bort read but his vote came early iirc and he wasn't on at rollover so maybe not. Aman is still just village, Baker is the same as Bort. Not sure how to feel about shadow agreeing with the Illwei vote but staying on Striker, but I guess she didn't oppose it so still probably just village. Maybe sus on TJ for doing nothing but I do like how he acknowledged Aman's comment instead of remaining silent I think the Devo train was mostly older votes, so probably not a train that was in defense of Illwei. Same with my train, honestly. That's the problem with last second elim trains xD Thanks y'all for giving me another chance, I'll make the most of it <3 What's a ChayShan do again
  7. Maybe I'm pocketed but Looked through 156 pages of content on a conf villager to BG check him Voted Archer when Thaid was an equally viable option Very village in the doc Hi striker please don't tie it this is fine
  8. I can vote Illwei and that puts her in the lead, right? Right. Devotary is village and I will (hopefully not) die on that hill. Ninja'd by Aman, perfect :P.
  9. D1, as I read: One thing I'm noticing is that my early Empire stance was maybe the minority, but I was absolutely not the only one who had it. For instance, Aman remarks that 3/4 of his doc voted to reveal themselves, showing that someone in the Teod Empire shared this opinion. It would be funny if it was Archer, but I don't think it was since Archer was the one who revealed the entire Teod Empire :P. But Illwei also was shown to have this viewpoint, as well as TJ. So I'm suspicious of anyone who uses this as reasoning against me specifically. I... really do not like Striker's voting patterns xD Village point to JNV for pushing against the Thaid exe early Maybe I'm just wrong here but I don't think e!Devo is the kind of player to vote Exp for claiming elim? I wouldn't think Devo makes that vote as either alignment though so maybe it is e indicative :P. I feel like D2 Illwei is inconsistent with D1 Illwei's reads but memory=bad, if I survive I'll look at this more. Something to think about. Bort just switching between poke votes is eh. Still don't like that response to Araris, the thing Kas didn't like. Dunno how to label that :P. Devo apparently looked through 156 pages of content to find one spot Exp claimed elim in the BT to background check, seriously don't see this coming from an elim. Would be surprised if Bort/Araris was e/e Exp village read me and Devo (This isn't a point in favor or against of anything, I just appreciate it :P) I don't think Kas/Archer is e/e- they had too many back-and-forths for me to want to consider that. Furthering v!Kas credences. Still don't think TJ's post looks like an Archer defense, or e/e with Devo. Think Devo is village anyway. TJ could be elim but not from this, I think Aman is overcomplicating his TJ read because of this post. Simplest answer is sometimes the right one, TJ voted someone with low votes when Archer was a candidate with one of his elim reads. Already mentioned this cycle, I think shadow's vote is very village and I love her solving energy :D. Keep it up! Like honestly that Devo self pres is preferring Archer over Thaid, e!Devo doesn't do that. I don't see it. Smh I don't care how much Striker is letting himself be voted on that Thaid vote is... but also pretty obvious for an elim to make. Idk. Conclusions: Aman, Kas, shadow, Devo JNV, Araris TJ, Sibling, Baker Illwei, Striker(?), Bort Is my tiered and ordered reads list after D1. No clue where to place Striker, would probably put Tani in between Sibling and Baker, Bort is my preferred vote today but I'll vote where I can survive. Hope I can live to continue trying to solve, I'd hate to go out because I was less active than normal, or because I was right about something :P. I'm aware those are worded in a way to make them seem like eh reasons, but that's because I think they are eh reasons so /shrug In what world does this team let that happen lol I'm not crazy like Striker so, fair warning, in a 3way tie with me in it I will swing it to someone else
  10. I think you’re overassuming how much time I had for deep alignment thinking on D1 :P. I can gut read you pretty good, I went with that. It was proven right, imo, by your Archer vote. But I don’t see how me village reading you is a reason to elim read me lol Striker Home now so my D1 post is coming
  11. You guys can expect my D1 post in about 3 hours- I'm busy for about the next two. I started the reread but I want to post it all together, figured I should warn y'all beforehand so you're not expecting it soon... Hmm. That's about when rollover is, isn't it >> Would be great if I posted it at rollover only to be killed (No it wouldn't.) I'll put a purely self preservation on Devo for now but I would love to not have to leave that there since I still think Devo's self pres onto Archer instead of Thaid was village.
  12. Everyone has games like this- games where suspicions don't fall together. I've almost committed to solving this game through village reads, but I am going to go back through D1 after I finish this post. I am usually more firm about my suspicions by now, but I don't think that's elim indicative, that's just disengaged indicative :P. And I will try to fix that, if you'd let me. And like Aman said, I was right xD I doubled down on it with a single word because I was on mobile with limited time, but also I didn't feel like explaining it to Devo again when I'd already done so in our Empire doc :P. Why is ironic = elim in this situation? Why does perceptive = elim in this situation? Can anyone consider that maybe when Exp said In his post I easily determined that he was in the same Empire as Aman, and since claiming elim seriously isn't something that happens normally, I made the not-very-difficult leap of logic that this was a ploy of some kind. It's well known that this is the kind of thing Exp and you like to do, and you're in the same doc. Essentially, the coincidence-I-think-NOT meme, but like cmon it wasn't even something I had to think hard about and I don't see why being right about this means I'm elim >> See response to TJ. I'd like some grace for this :P. My IRL time for SE is about the same as normal now, but it wasn't on D1 and I lost a lot of the groundwork I normally make there. I thought Thaid was more suspicious than Archer in the limited reading time I had, what can I say? Again I already kinda responded to this, but look, Aman and Exp both claim Teo and then Exp claims elim in what is an obvious ploy, what was I supposed to think. When have I ever done this xD You are a village read for that Archer vote basically every time Hello I have a preference Looks the VC is shaken up though and I still want to reread D1 before voting
  13. I don’t think you can cite my stance on Empires as suspicious unless you’re also willing to elim read Illwei and TJ. Saying that I only changed because of shadow is misrepresenting my though process, even if unintentionally- enough people had said something similar, you included, but shadow’s happened to be the one I quoted and responded to.
  14. All true statements. I am playing more passively than usual, I’ll own that. I’ve been wanting to change that, get more involved- I think I’ve done better this cycle, even if I’ve been defending more than accusing- but when getting involved requires lots of backreading, and I don’t have a huge amount of free time, it kind of just keeps… not happening. My highest suspicion is probably Bort or Bread, but I’m noncommittal and haven’t voted because I don’t like how little those are. I’m hoping to solidify something during the reread that hasn’t happened yet I do know though that I generally disagree with the Devo read and to a lesser extent the TJ read, I don’t think a bus is the most likely option. I could see e!Illwei but also eh
  15. So anyway
  16. oh I’m aware Working to make up for that :D. I have much more time this cycle than I did on D1 so that’s helpful.
  17. TJ had one game relevant post on D1, so early TJ wasn't anything The only mention of Archer in said post is And that is the only mention, despite TJ including a rough reads list in the post. For me, I get what you're saying, but TJ actually has less content than I was picturing and idk if this one line and the Thaid vote is enough for me to want to vote there. The VC at the time of TJ's vote was Devo (3): Striker, Kas, Araris Archer (2): Aman, Exp Thaid (1): Baker Exp (2): Thaid, Devo Bort (1): Mat Aman (1): Archer In reality, I think Exp was voting Tani by this point, but nobody knew that so it doesn't really matter. I think that the Thaid vote isn't indicative of e!TJ, since Devo was in TJ's elim reads and if his goal in voting was to save Archer without looking like it Devo would have accomplished that much better. Also going to note, since I'm looking at it, that Archer and Thaid had the same number of perceived votes (3) at the time that Devo self pressed to Archer. This reflects village on her, I think.
  18. Wasn't TJ's vote made before Archer's train had any ground? I think out of the PoE TJ would be my last choice, for this reason.
  19. I was able to work out your docmates, but my doc and yours are probably the only ones that can work all of them out. This is what I was arguing in D1, yes :P. That went out the window.
  20. I had two Thaid votes in the cycle- the first was when Archer didn't have votes, yeah, but I'm fairly certain that Archer, Devo, and Thaid were all about equal when I changed from Bort back to Thaid since I remember thinking that since Thaid was the viable option I liked the best I should vote there :P. Dunno why I'm clarifying this but here you go xD
  21. Why do you differentiate my vote from Striker's? His being 'flat-out incriminating' and mine being 'just null' doesn't make sense to me considering they accomplished the same thing. I mean, sure, Striker's was a lot more blatant but mine actually counted for the VC
  22. If you’re trying to act suspicious, is it hard to believe a villager will read you as suspicious? :P. Araris isn’t the first person to mention suspicion on you, either.
