What if a full powered Mistborn such as Rashek, or perhaps even Vin or Elend, uses the mental and/or emotional powers of Allomancy while going up against Taln or any other herald? Would soothing or rioting be beneficial against them in such a contest? Also, if there was enough atium for the Mistborn to use, how helpful would that be for them?

I predict that Wax would win, especially if he is also using firearms. Kaladin is my favorite Stormlight character, and Wax is my favorite character from Scandriel. I would be betting on Wax to win because of his excellent combination of Allomancy and feruchemy. I am pretty sure that the levels of skill AND strength of power from Wax's allomancy combined with his iron feruchemy is stronger than the lashings from Kaladin, even though he is a 5th ideal Windrunner. For betting odds, I would give Wax a 60% chance of defeating Kaladin. However, that advantage swings VERY heavily into Kaladin's favor if my favorite Windrunner turns the fight into a close quarters melee battle.

I completely agree. Winds and Truth was a complete disappointment for me. I really enjoyed the first 4 books, and I have enjoyed all of the books in the Mistborn world. However, at the age of 60 years old, I cannot wait until 2033 for the next Stormlight Archive book to be published. Even if I decided that I wanted to wait that long, I doubt that I would buy the next SA book. Sanderson's WaT book ruined the Stormlight Archives for me.

That is a great question. Frankly, I have no idea what the answer might be. I would love to read what everyone else on these forums might think about that.

I can see that happening as well. The biggest thing about Lirin that would prevent him from becoming a Stoneward is his personal code of pacifism.

I also want to see just how long a pacifist surgeon like Lirin will be able to keep faithful to his personal moral code in a time of global war. I think it would be fascinating and entertaining if Lirin is able to remain a pacifist, despite the horrors of war that he is experiencing and will continue to experience.

There's all kinds of possible trouble that Shallan and Adolin, with Pattern and Maya, can run into inside Shadesmar. Maybe the reason they are being sent into Shadesmar is because Adolin is Dalinar's son and Jasnah's cousin. I think that negotiating with the honorspren means that humans are going to need someone with the authority to speak for both Dalinar and Jasnah.

Although Shallan is not one of my favorite characters, I've always found the Cognitive Realm and Shadesmar very, very interesting. I am REALLY looking forward to reading the Shadesmar chapters in Rhythm of War.

Alright. Sorry about that, I guess my desires there are higher than my reach. I thought I could use atium as one of the metals because many of Elend's soldiers were able to use atium as mistings in Hero of the Ages. Okay, out of the 16 available now after Mistborn Era 1, I choose steel. Of all of the external physical mistings, I Like Coinshots the best because of the flexibility of different uses for Steel that an experienced Coinshot has at his disposal.

If I had to pick only one and be only a misting, then I burn atium and be a Seer. The ability to be able to see what someone is going to do in the next several seconds is very appealing to me.
