Vivace opened her eyes and smiled. "Sorry, just one moment. Vivace's got a couple of questions." Concerto shrugged. "We'll fix it later. And I think I'll have to pass on that free demonstration, thanks. So, I never got your name."

Works for me. Melody raised a hand to her mouth and smiled, but she didn't move. Illusory Melody stared at Ellis as if confused. "Ellis, this is the real me. Are you okay?"

Herate turned to face him, a melancholy smile gracing her lips. "Can't you see? It's not a choice at this point. I just have one thing to say." She stared intensely into his eyes. "Win."

"And I bet you can't wait to dish it out. Well, I'd leave but I find myself second-guessing. Obviously it would be better for Chorale if I stayed, but this tells me that it would be better for me if I didn't. Sister, you sure you want to stay with these guys? Sister?" Chorale had closed her eyes and wore a tight smile on her face, held there almost as if by reflex. Her hands stayed strictly by her sides, though, and her feet seemed rooted to the ground, so it probably wasn't all that bad.

"You could try," laughed Concerto. "I doubt you could stop me. Perhaps if Chorale - her powers under her full control, of course - wanted to keep me here, she could. There's a reason I was the leader of the Amal at so young."

Daolan shuddered as the torment lessened. He hadn't seen much through the haze of pain, but it seemed they had come to an agreement. He could only hope it was a good one. "Now I'm curious. Did Wyrn know about this?"

That's basically the first book from Edward's perspective. I wasn't aware of it, but it still isn't the closure I wanted.

There's not - wait. There are two Melody's, but you can only see one.. One of them is an illusion, the other one is using illusions to be invisible.

"Sure, sounds like fun! If I could just..." Illusory Melody reached for the sword and grasped the handle, picking an illusion of the sword up. It actually stayed on the ground, but no one would be able to tell.
