  1. I completely forgot about this! Though, as others have mentioned that doesn't eliminate possible sightings from WoK and WoR I guess. Precisely, which means he could have been one of the cryptics in WoK. We probably will never know that without a WoB though. I think you might be right. I'm definitely going to have a critical eye on all the Shallan viewpoints in my reread. That's for sure.
  2. Something has been bugging me... In Oathbringer, Shallan spends weeks in Shadesmar with Kaladin and Adolin and everyone... Why did we never see Testament there? Is it possible we did and it was so subtle that we missed it? I'm also guessing Testament could have been one of the many cryptics following Shallan in TWoK... but where was he all the times that Shallan peeked into the CR in order to soulcast? I can imagine that she'd have blocked him out while doing the soulcasting... but people would have noticed him while traveling with her in Shadesmar... Is there a way that she could have been bonded to a deadeye and not had it appear nearby when she went into Shadesmar? Any Theories? Sightings? Ideas?
  3. Brother of mine, brother of mine! Welcome to the shard! Nice Avatar
  4. Fair points. And yeah, Renarin is by far the more powerful of any fortune abilities we've seen outside of Shardic ones (that I'm aware of.)
  5. Right, but a Kandra isn't a capitol A avatar. (although I do really love the Seon in a cloak idea mentioned on the podcast )
  6. I'm not so sure about that. Anyone near Renarin was blacked out in Odium's "diagram" and his abilities seem pretty focused and specific. Vin was able to trick Atium just by referencing Zane's reactions to Atium trails. Knowing all of your own possible deaths would probably be really handy in a fight against an atium misting, or in dealing with a shard that wanted you dead. It just might be utterly useless for any reason other than survival?
  7. I'm not convinced... The solution to fixing AonDor was as simple as writing it properly-- this seems to be evidence that the cause of the damage to AonDor WAS the shifting of the land, and couldn't have been the opposite. The Sibling, along with spren like the oathgates, do seem to be location locked and that seems to be similar to the magics of Sel in some ways, so I like the connections you are drawing here... especially considering that the deadeyes (and potentially the Siblings slumber) are somehow similar to The Reod. Ba-Ado-Mishram might be similar to the AonDor in the sense that they might be some kind of focus for the "Pure-Tones of Roshar"?
  8. I'm two minutes in and I'm already FREAKING OUT! I am so happy for my favorite podcasters
  9. I don't have much to add... but this is a really good theory! This makes so much sense I'd be surprised if the broader theory you present here isn't true in some way. I think you are getting there with the 8 voids you've guessed at, but I'm not truly convinced by half of them. Learning, Foresight, and "Enlightenment" are the most convincing to me, though I think your mention of "Natural forces" as a void is intriguing as well.
  10. I think the important thing with her was that she produces Lifelight, not that she can use it. Contextually Mraize is being pretty coy with that statement, to imply that he is "in the know".
  11. Have we seen an example of Radiants being incapable of using lifelight? Lift might just be incapable of breathing in light like most Radients are. She is an anomaly, so I hesitate to use her as an example for what other radiants could or could not be capable of. We've seen Venli use Voidlight for Radiant abilities.
  12. I honestly felt this way when I was reading it as well. There might be some feelings involved now, but my interpretation of that chapter was that they both came to this relationship out of pragmatism.I don't think it's going to work out for them long-term, nor do I think it's intended to. Besides that, I tend to agree with the rest of the critics here, the scene could have been executed better, but it's probably an area where Brandon is learning and experimenting still.
  13. I suppose it's entirely possible. I don't see a reason that the Divine breath would be the only way that a returned could fulfil their purpose. We only really have Lightsong as a reference though so it's tough to say one way or another..
  14. Ahhh. Yeah... that was my 4am brain talking my apologies for even suggesting it. I see! That makes a lot of sense!! It's a very cool project and I can't wait to see where you go with it Thank you for sharing!!
  15. This is really good work and the implementation of lore into this is great!! Totally unsolicited suggestions: Maybe Vin and Elend could be the Emporer/Empress? I feel like the lord ruler fits The Devil as a card far better than the Emporer. On the note of the lord ruler-- The Tower could be replaced with Kredik Shaw! Keep doing your thing though, don't listen to me!! This is a fantastic idea and I bet if you digitize the art and find a way to get them printed when you have a complete deck people would buy them! (I know I would)
  16. Do you have any examples of this or WoBs? It's been a long time since I've read Warbreaker.
  17. I'm guessing it will be an era 4 thing... or that he will play a big role in SA's back 5. I also feel as if "the purpose" involves a specific use of their divine breath, so perhaps he will save someone's life or sacrifice himself to make some big change with his Divine Breath. Before that moment though, I've always considered each action he takes to be part of his 'purpose' I think Endowment is wayyyy more involved than they let on!
  18. Best theory. You win the theory game. Trogdor is Honor confirmed. Trogdor becomes Adonalsium and Burninates everything. Cosmere Complete. The End.<3
  19. I'm disappointed that the 17th shard is ignoring me so thoroughly in this polling process -- I assure you that Team Hoid will win and be the best for everyone in the Cosmere. You can trust me, I wouldn't hurt a fly; maybe some cognitive shadows... but never a fly. -Your dearest friend who's been with you since the very beginning. Tell Frost I said hi, our last correspondence didn't go over so well.
  20. Good point. Perhaps that means he is likely to refrain from investing anymore than the bare minimum...
  21. I couldn't find it on Arcanum but I swear I've heard that mentioned somewhere as well --- maybe its just a theory from here though. ummmm... he's recently invested into Roshar... that was basically the undertext of all of RoW. The Sibling basically said as much, and he's now got a "true tone" and everything. It may only be to solidify his control while he is stuck there... and he might 'divest' (if that's a thing), but for now he seems to have set himself up as a god on Roshar...
  22. I think you'll find that most cultures and/or ethnic groups that no longer exist today were simply absorbed into other cultures or outright transformed into something else. Genocide attempts might be common in history and have devastating impacts on cultures and peoples, but they rarely, if ever, actually wipe those people out completely. This bit of history repeats itself constantly and there is allegory for it in SA, the singers who have awoken are singers with human cultures ingrained in them from birth. Their enslavement is a perfect allegory for what usually happens when one group tries to genocide another. (And what usually happens is: It doesn't actually work.)
  23. "UNITE THEM" suddenly has deeper meaning.
  24. I've tried to but I can't. It makes sense from a narrative perspective... I'm not sure I like it, I don't know why that is because it actually seems like a fulfilling and interesting arc for him. (I'm not liking what it might mean for Syl though tbh)
  25. Welcome to the shard!! This post contains Cosmere spoilers so you should mark it as such, and it would probably do better on a cosmere spoiler-allowed board. This board is specifically meant for introducing yourself! In regards to what you are suggesting, I'm not sure that the breaths themselves would be multiplied, it would just make better use of the investiture. I'm pretty certain Nicrosil makes Investiture use more efficient, rather than actually creating more investiture... I could be wrong though?
