Random writing update that no one asked for: I managed to derail my own derailment when I was supposed to be writing another cosmere crossover fic by deciding instead to write Adolin, Shallan and Kaladin playing Mario Kart/Smash Bros, but as soon as I sat down my brain was like “no, you’re writing Ruin and Preservation in couples counselling”. Storming brain, this is why I never finish anything

I had a dream the other night that I tried to log into the Shard but it came up with one of those prove you’re not a robot things, and I had to click all the boxes with sidewalks, but there were no sidewalks in the picture. So after I failed that it came up with the message You are a robot. You have been denied access to The 17th Shard, so I emailed the Shard and they said “well, we can’t do anything but here’s a coupon for a cruise to Scadrial” so umm the moral of the story is that all the inactive Sharders are actually on Scadrial?

WHY DO I KEEP FINDING TWO YEAR OLD HALF-FINISHED COSMERE FANFICS ON MY LAPTOP
Seriously I’m in shock right now; I’m staring at a half-finished cosmere crossover fic about all of the main characters attending Shallan and Adolin’s wedding that I have no memory of writing (I remember coming up with the idea and writing about it, but I don’t remember what I actually wrote). They’re all bringing wedding gifts except for Kelsier, who says that “my very presence is a suitable gift”, and there’s a dot point that says “Kelsier and Shai sneak off and team up to steal stuff from Urithiru and complain about Hoid.” The Era 2 crew start having a crisis when they spot the Era 1 crew and Marasi tries speaking High Imperial to them.

YOU GUYS. IT’S BEEN A YEAR. A WHOLE YEAR.
Every so often this past month my brain has been gently reminding me “it’s your Shardiversary soon!”, but now that I’m actually here I can’t believe it. I still feel like it was yesterday when I timidly posted an intro thread and found myself gravitating over to the Forum Games and Community side of the Shard, where I’ve stayed for most of my time here. Since then I’ve *wins*ed, rambled (often incoherently), joined RPs (which either died or I had to leave, whoops) and honestly stumbled across such a wonderful community to be a part of.
To the forum games crew, you guys never fail to make me smile! I love going on adventures with you, granting boons and banes, and all of the general randomness that happens along the way.
To anyone I’ve ever RPed with, you’re awesome and thank you for being patient with someone who had/still has no idea what they’re doing
. This site is full of amazing storytellers and I’m so glad that I’m able to write with you all.
And finally, thank you. Yes, you reading this. For making this community such a great one to be in. Whenever I’m in need of a laugh, a fun conversation, or a virtual hug, I know where to come.

When you finish writing up your Shardiversary post, click submit, but forget that that Shard’s probably logged you out for inactivity and the whole things deletes so now you have to rewrite it. *facepalms*
