Impressed by the undefeated armies of the flourishing Gehestian empire, the kingdom of Nam-Ed offers a coalition for the two of them to invade the Eakirandi empire, offering to split the nation 50/50.
The king of Gehest accepts the offer, and both countries set out to conquer the Eakirandi empire.
Both countries have massive armies, and can easily defeat any troops that get in their way.
However, the Eakirandi emperor has been preparing for such an attack.
The emperor is the eldest son of the previous king, who was overthrown by his younger brother over 200 years ago.
Now, the emperor is planning to retake his father's throne. He knows that he cannot beat the combined forces of Nam-Ed and Gehest.
So he hires mercenaries to fight for him, knowing that the mercenary companies will be better equipped than any other army.
The emperor also has spies within both countries. The day before the invasion, one of his spies informs him that Nam-Ed plans to strike first.
The emperor takes this information to heart, and prepares his own army to meet the attack.
On the morning of the invasion, Nam-Ed marches its forces onto the plains of Eakirandi, ready to kick some ass.
The Eakirandi emperor is waiting for them, along with thousands of loyal soldiers.
Nam-Ed's superior numbers prove to be decisive. Within minutes, the Nam-Ed army is defeated.
The emperor immediately launches a counterattack, and kills hundreds of the enemy soldiers.
But Nam-Ed has lost almost all its men.
The emperor then turns his attention to the mercs. Unlike the Nam-Ed army, they are well prepared for battle.
Within hours, the Nam-Ed forces have been completely annihilated.
But the Gahestian Forces strike next, reinforcing the Nam-Ed armies.
The emperor immediately launches another counteroffensive. This time, it works.
The Nam-Ed forces are forced back, and the emperor begins to push them closer and closer to Nam-Ed's capital.
But suddenly, the Eakirandi Empire strikes.
The mercenaries are no match for the Eakirandi soldiers, and Nam-Ed loses most of their forces.
With only 10,000 soldiers left alive, the Nam-Ed emperor retreats to Nam-Ed's capital.
The Eakirandi emperor sends his army after them, and once again Nam-Ed falls.
But this time, the Eakirandi emperor does not follow up with another attack. Instead, he lets Nam-Ed recover.
After several months, the Nam-Ed Emperor finally decides to launch a full-scale counterattack.
The Eakirandi emperor is caught completely off guard, and his country suffers heavy casualties.
Two weeks later, the Gahestian forces arrive, and annihilate the Eakirandi army.
The Nam-Ed emperor now has control of the Eakirandi Empire, and seizes total dominance over the region.
It... worked. I think.
