  1. Vance watched him walk off, tapping his wrist with his arms crossed. He'd been hoping to figure out what kind of person this Antin was himself, but figured that of all other people here, Quest could probably get a good read on him. Besides: the two of them would probably be more useful towards all these curses and such than the likes of Kealie. He grabbed a pair of bows and two quivers of arrows, giving one set to the crazy vine lady. "Let's get skedoodin'." @The Halcyon Girl
  2. "Hm." Vance crossed his arms. "On second thought, you stay here with Quest. Kealie, you're coming with me instead." @The Halcyon Girl
  3. "DoGONNIT -" Vance grabbed Antin and started dragging him out of the room. "QUEST! GOT ANY... ANTI-CURSE MAGIC??"
  4. Vance grabbed a bow and quiver of arrows off the wall, about seventy-two percent sure that they wouldn't reanimate and try to kill him later.
  5. Now facing resistance within the newly-conquered region of Nam-Ed, the Gahestian Empire decides to crack down on traitors with a show of strength. With their armies recuperating and airship fleet destroyed, they begin drafting civilians from Eakirandi, Adoral-Can, Quonshi, and Sociania in order to build a new battalion to quell the rebellion. When the draft soldiers arrive at the front lines, they find the Gahestians fighting alongside the rebels, who are led by a former guard named Tarn. Tarn and his army manage to defeat the Gahestian forces, and the people of Eakirandi and Adoral-Can reclaim their lands. The Gahestian Emperor orders the attack on Adoral-Can to be resumed, and the Gahestians are victorious once more. The Emperor now sees the potential in Tarn and orders him to lead his next battalion of draftees. Despite the Emperor's wishes, the Gahestians refuse to fight and flee the battlefield. With no other choice, the emperor orders Tarn to capture them. Tarn and his forces are able to track down most of the fleeing troops, except for one. Sensing something isn't right, Tarn asks the sole survivor of the battle why he ran. He tells Tarn that he fled because the Gahestians were using the draftees as cannon fodder, and that they would never win the war this way. To prove his point, Tarn commands the single remaining Gahestian to turn and face him. In a surprise move, the Gahestian draws his sword and slices through Tarn's head. The soldiers return to camp, where Tarn's body is discovered by the commander. The commander expresses his condolences to Tarn's grieving comrades, but the rest of the troops are furious, believing that the survivor was simply trying to save his own hide. They kill the survivor and blame him for the death of their friend. As punishment, they strip the surviving soldier of his rank and send him to the frontlines of the war. The man is given command over a small group of draftees, who he puts through hellish training for weeks before sending them off to fight. The survivors of the first battalion are outraged when they learn what happened to their commander. They decide to leave the battlefield and seek out Tarn's killer. ...Can someone explain to me what just happened?
  6. While the Queen of Serenitas is unhappy about losing control of Adoral-Can to her allies, she doesn't pursue the matter further, and sends troops to march on the Kingdom of Zunotis. The armies have orders to slaughter every civilian, soldier, and noble they encounter. The Queen plans to eradicate the royal family of Zunotis and claim the throne for herself. Zunotis is forced to surrender, and the Queen imprisons the King and all of his remaining nobles. The Queen of Serenitas then captures the Princess of Zunotis and attempts to seduce her. However, the princess resists the queen's advances. In response, the queen casts a spell that allows her to take over the princess' body. Good... job...?
  7. "Yep! And they might even be cursed!" "We've still got, like... a week or two." Vance totally hadn't forgotten what day it was. "Enough time for us to explore this creepy cursed mansion a bit, at least."
  8. ...how is starting with Stormlight unorthodox? That's how he got like half his fans.
  9. I did. I posted a status update with the full drawing in it.
  10. “There aren’t any villages for fifteen miles in every direction,” Vance interrupted. “And I wasn’t planning to live off just meat, Quest. If you want to help try digging around the roots of those short yellow-ish trees: you’ll find some tasty root veggies there.”
  11. “No. Antin: we’re going hunting!” He glanced over at Quest. “And uhhh… this guy can eat the rest of our old rations… or something.” @The Aspiring Archivist
