    Unintelligible frowned. “Anglioh? Tetran semino.” He coughed. “Oh, right. Sorry, Ookla season. Takes effort to speak intelligibly. What happened? Did Everyone do this to you?” “Maybe. But I have a feeling that him knowing would help Subversion.” The traveler and Tam reach the edge of Onyx’s realm, and the traveler comes to a halt. “Where next?” She says to herself, looking around. “Perhaps… no, I’m not that desperate yet.” She looks at Tam. “Any suggestions?”

    Unintelligible was shocked by Sequence’s injuries. “Forsegla! Allofdyo bakrof portedra!” The traveler shrugs. “It seemed a good place to start. I figured that if Subversion could tell Nogard about the true nature of the Thread, maybe he could help her find the answer she wants. So I wanted to know about him, and why he has a hard time understanding the Thread.”

    The traveler slows her pace to allow Tam to catch up. "What is it?"

    A traveler walks through Onyx's realm, hurrying past the charred remnants of a horde of insects. She travels towards the border, walking with purpose. The first part of her plan to save Nogard has gone better than she hoped, but much work yet remains for her, and she can feel her time growing shorter.

    The energy crackled again, and a faint light shone out around the sword's hilt. The traveler nods. "Thank you for your help." She steps through the crack in the wall and awakens.

    “If you think they haven’t abandoned him then sure, I’ll let them find him.” The traveler turns to go, then realizes she doesn’t know how. “How do I leave again?”

    "Would you mind if I woke him up on my way out?"

    A crackle of energy ran across the sword's hilt as the guard's hand neared it.

    The traveler shrugs. "You seem to know Onyx pretty well." She strokes her chin thoughtfully. "If you don't have anything, and I already know that fixing Nogard's home is pretty much impossible... I guess I'll leave. Thank you for the audience Onyx. Oh, wait! Onyx, where's Erif right now? I-when I was Subversion-lost track of him after his audience with you." The woman pulls a sheathed sword from within her cloak and tosses it to the ground before the guards. A moment later, she vanishes.

    The woman sniffs, then turns away. "I will leave a message for him. When he returns, it will be best for him if he listens."

    The cloaked woman sighs. "Well, where is he? I must speak with him. His campaign against he Maelstrom is a doomed effort, but with my help it can succeed."

    You can imagine it does. A woman cloaked in darkness approached the Emperor's throne room. "...I see." The traveler said. "Well, thank you for telling me all of this, and for allowing me to try to talk to Nogard about the Thread." She turned to Bacon. "Is there anything else you think I should talk to Onyx about?"

    "That's kind of you." The traveler smiles, then stops, hesitating. "Is there... I mean, what would happen if he can't learn to accept it?"

    Hope sparks in the travelers eyes. "So there's a chance that I could explain it to him? Would you let that happen?"

    The traveler glances at Bacon, then turns her attention back to the voice. "What would happen if Nogard learned the truth? Assuming you didn't wipe his mind."

    "His home. It's your world shielded from Narration? That's why he and his brother can't comprehend the reality of the Thread?"

    The traveler shivers. "I'm here to speak to Onyx. I want to know more about Nogard."

    "Interesting. So what does she want to know about Narrators? And is she open to visitors?"

    "Oh, so he's given you Narrator powers while you're here? That's nice of him. Who is your master by the way?"

    "Oh, I killed the other candidate for full Narratorhood." Subversion summoned a notebook and pencil. "Say, are you a Narrator?" It could be done by now, if someone were to go check on him.

    "I was born with Narrator powers, although I wasn't a full Narrator until I proved my worthiness for the role." Yeah, he's getting surgery. Having his soul stitched to his body a bit better.
