  1. The man appears to have no powers at all. In fact, if he were normally capable of such a thing, KDJ could not even detect the man's soul. "You could've asked why Rebus found leaving the Thread impossible." The man pointed out. "He knows enough of our organization to inform you."
  2. "We prevent Narrators, withergeists, and other similarly dangerous threats from leaving TLT. We are the ones who made the great Wall."
  3. The man seems utterly void of any intent to cause pain, and KDJ can detect no abilities at all.
  4. "Were you not aware of the Enuller's existence?" The man scribbled something on his clipboard. "Our organization is not secret."
  5. "Correct. Although assuming you left other copies of yourself in the Thread, they will still have Narration."
  6. "Any Narrator powers have already been stripped from you." The man confirmed. "Once you're back in TLT, you'll have to apply for return of them." He tore a piece of paper off his clipboard and handed it to Cep. "Here's the form. Next time, please work through our offices instead of trying to sneak away." The man seemed utterly nonthreatening.
  7. "I'm afraid you can't be allowed to do that while in possession of your powers as a Narrator." The man said. "As such, your powers have been automatically confiscated for the duration of your trip." "Immigration, so to speak."
  8. A man holding a clipboard appeared from nowhere. "Excuse me, are you Erryin? I have you here as attempting to leave TLT."
  9. "What, you don't know?" Moni's grin widened. "He likes you. Thought that was obvious." -- Ah. Thought Unintelligible as he stood somewhere dark, staring his fluffy death in the face. That would've been good to know earlier.
  10. "On a quest to find some way to heal you, that's what I meant." Moni replied. "I can't imagine much else would keep him from a party like this." She flipped her hair back, a grin playing at the corners of her mouth. "Not when you're here, at least."
  11. Concern spread across Moni's face. "That... sounds pretty serious. Actually, it sounds similar to what Nameless went through when he was stabbed with that Mordite blade. Minus the memory loss." She frowned. "Is that where Unintelligible is?"
  12. "So am I." Moni brushed brown hair out of her face and looked at Sequence closely. "Are you doing alright? You look a little bit... unwell. The Dreamsmith watched these proceedings from his workshop. "So... An automaton." He fiddled with Reverie. "Ah, to think of the challenge of forging for a soulless entity? Perhaps there will be time before..." He sighed, trailing off. "No, I cannot afford to dwell on it. I need to be focused, now more than ever." He turned, placing Reverie on his workbench. With a few modifications... Yes, it could work quite well. "Omen?" Called the Dreamsmith. "I have a task for you." "So you're not looking for the legendary fountain of youth?" Lyric said in surprise. "Odd. Most adventurers I see around here are very interested in that fountain." He narrowed his eyes. "Come to think of it, a robot wouldn't have much use for a fountain of youth anyways." The portal was genuine, of course. And considering Kion was at least on the right planet, surely he could find his way to the party before his Render caught up to him.
  13. "Malevolence?" Moniker took a cup of tea and sat down. "I haven't heard of him. New character?" She took a sip of the tea, sighing contentedly. "I think I've missed about twelve hundred pages while I was in Ragnorok, so I'm not exactly up to date." The Dreamsmith examined the bracelet, then knelt and picked up Reverie. He turned the machine over in his hands, noting every detail. Finally, he set Reverie down on the table and nodded. "This is good work. Unique. The method you use to allow overlay of the two realms is inspired." He turned to face the false Dreamsmith. "You are free to go." "Well, lost adventurer, you are in luck!" The man had red hair and green eyes, and wore a forest-green cloak, a shield-like cymbal on his back, and a hammer at his side. "I am Lyric, self-appointed guardian of these forests." He bowed. "How may I be of service?" Because the Authors were kind, or at least not always evil, Kion felt his head clearing. They'd escaped from the demons, and Moni had just disappeared. A door appeared in front of him, one that would lead out of Ragnorok for now. If the plot were ever revived, it would also lead back in.
  14. "Awful." Moni said. "I've been in Ragnorok on a sputtering plotline that seems to have died entirely now." She took a deep breath, trying to dispel the memories of that place. "How've you been?"
  15. "Oh, well. When you are sure, let me know and I'll help!" "Oh, I normally just..." the Dreamsmith pinched two fingers together, and the false Dreamsmith felt a slight warping to his soul. "A talent of mine. But that tool could be useful in certain cases." A man popped out of the woods in front of Jack. "Hello! Are you a lost adventurer?" In addition to what Sequence said, I don't believe Bacon actually put the paper in it yet. -- Subversion watched Sequence's party with a sense of... was that melancholy? Surely not. She'd absolutely cut out that part of herself. She was certain she'd gotten all of it. And yet... Subversion gritted her teeth and decided to do something else. Not to distract herself from painfully sweet memories. That would have been patently ridiculous. She just didn't like parties. -- Somewhere much darker, Moni decided she'd had enough. Sorry Perseus, but I think you'll be fine on your own for now. "Great Elephant and Thread, take me to safety, take me to solace. I promise no violence and I promise civility, grant me entrance to Sequence's world." @Sequence
  16. Can awakeners can awaken metals 'normally'? We've only seen them awaken metals Nightblood style so far. Although modern science could probably make some very strong materials from once-living material anyways, so they'll still be quite strong.
  17. "Once his Author returns, then." Jim froze. "Actually, forget I said that. I believe the handbook said I wasn't supposed to mention them." The Priest nodded slowly. "I see. Truly, Rebus is a twisted an-" he cut off suddenly, pulling a pocket watch from his robes. "Good heavens! I'll be late to the wedding!" He turned and vanished from sight in a sparkle of golden light. The strand of the Dreamsmith's soul flickered in time with his eyes as the false Dreamsmith worked. "Those tongs seem quite useful." Noted the Dreamsmith. "Perhaps I should acquire a pair." The song cut off abruptly. In the deafening silence that followed, Jack could hear a faint rustling rapidly approaching from the direction the singer had been.
  18. “I’ll talk to him once he wakes up.” Jim said. ”I didn’t say I couldn’t help you find the spike. What does it look like?”
  19. Jim seemed unaffected. "Do you have any clues as to this disease's origin? You already said you were infected by someone who shouldn't have been able to be infected."
  20. "Rude." Jim noted. He examined the blood carefully. "Huh. Yeah, this is definitely a serious condition."
  21. I concur with Chaos. IotE contains some hints towards events of WaT, but it doesn't have any spoilers.
  22. "Why'd you do that? Now it's contaminated." Jim pulled out a medical bag and started looking through it. "Now the only thing I've got that'll work is this." He pulled out an even larger syringe, one that looked like a souped-up version of the ones dentists use to inject numbing medicine into your jaw. Holding that syringe carefully, he reached in and grabbed a much smaller needle in a plastic case, then put the large syringe away. "Here. Just poke yourself with this. The lab will only need a drop." He tossed the case over.
  23. "Don't worry, I promise I won't store the leftovers of your blood sample away in the Ennuller database." Jim said, holding the syringe towards Asher. "I'll have a word with the testing lab operator to make sure of it." Not wanting to get any closer, he tossed the syringe the remaining distance to Asher.
  24. "Of course I am. Ennullers are always serious." Jim pulled out a syringe with a wicked needle at the end of it. "Now, if you would be so kind as to give me a blood sample, perhaps I could give you some insight into the nature of your affliction." Jim shrugged. "No idea where this spike is, sorry."
  25. The man unrolled a short section of duct tape threateningly. "Ennullers are nothing if not picky about technicalities."
