  1. "I would accept this." Malevolence said. "But will Bacon?" "Well... Cricket, I can understand. I do feel bad for leaving before he got a proper weapon, and after he passed my trial too. Still, at least it does leave me an opportunity. And I suppose it was my Author's fault." The Dreamsmith nodded slowly. "I would like to see your craftsmanship. Forge something for me." "Is it?" Said the Priest, voice suddenly icy calm. "You are, without a doubt, one of the most despicable men I have ever met." The gathered throng roared in assent. "You deny life and love, you murder, steal, destroy with abandon. I will never stand by and allow these things to stand." He strode forwards, carrying, as always, the book of Happy Endings. "I give you this one chance, Rebus. Repent. Turn from your evil ways, abandon your cursed Plotblade, and end your tyranny." -- In a place absent of light, a voice spoke to two tempests. "Are you willing?" @TwinStorm
  2. Fun fact: Lessname Physically forced both me and her brother to go get her fries at Cookout today. Feminism is quite powerful.

  3. “Creepy. Well, I should be going, if you don’t mind. I’ve been meaning to go create a world for a while now, and I really should go do it.” — “Two…” Malevolence face palmed. “Why would he copy the paper when he splits himself?”
  4. “Interesting… a gun that shoots Nullite bullets. You know, I think Ennulers are overrated as a counter to Narrators.” “The version of you with the paper, I mean.”
  5. She’s definitely chaotic, and has some evil tendencies, but is more on the good side of things.
  6. "Ooh, that's exciting." Subversion scribbled down some more notes. "So why'd you bring me up here again?"
  7. "I do like chaos, indeed I do." Subversion scribbled some notes down. "Can I assume you're not an Author?"
  8. "Oh, how interesting!" Subversion took out a notepad. "So, what are your goals?"
  9. "That depends on you, not on me. I am a simple creator of stories. Who are you?" People around them.
  10. Subversion bowed, silver eyes glowing with reflected firelight. “Hello! I am Subversion, Narrator of Nameless. Pleasure to make your acquaintance!” “Define ‘weird’. If by weird you mean placing the paper in some sort of protective device so it cannot be read by anyone with the proper angle relative to you, then yes.” Malevolence handed Bacon a manila folder. “I’d also appreciate it if you stayed near me, or one of these others.” “Very well. I shall search for others then.” The voice left.
  11. The portals wouldn't lead out of TLT, of course. That's practically impossible.
  12. By finding a world with one of the portals on it? "Excellent job." Subversion's voice says. "You seem to be fairly well versed in the Plotblade's use now. Do you feel you need any more lessons?"
  13. It takes some searching, but God Killer is able to find such a world. Anyone could access it. Although it is infested by horrible monsters mutated by the radiative portal energy. Subversion looks surprised to be pulled somewhere against her wishes. She glances around herself in confusion. "Who did that? Where am I?"
  14. "Yes, well. I have trust issues." Malevolence tapped his foot. "Very well, I'm willing to allow the paper to remain in your care, if you agree to take proper safety precautions." The voice hushes to a low whisper. "Will you be of the three?" Within the rift is an alien world dominated by hideous monsters. The rift appears to be formed by a curious collection of crystals. Many other such rifts appear in the distance, opening to a variety of other worlds. Subversion popped up behind Vigo, invisible. She also wondered which Narrator Vigo had killed.
  15. The central hub, paradoxically, was filled with light. Light coming from a great rift opening up into a world lit only by distant starlight, from which the creatures originated. "I am trying to." Malevolence said without looking at Erryin. "But I prioritize stopping Rebus above preventing violence." "I don't start fights with those that might be my allies." Malevolence noted. "So for now, I believe I'm good."
  16. The creatures died in droves, but there were always more to replace them, hundreds, then thousands, then more of them swarmed from holes, screeching for God Killer’s blood. “Sequence is wounded. Hardly a good guardian. As for you…” Malevolence sheathed his sword. “Are you truly willing to do whatever is necessary to protect that paper?” — Somewhere empty and desolate, a voice spoke to the wind. “Are you willing?”
  17. "Rebus has Antagonist. He knows Bacon has the paper. Therefore, the paper is not safe with Bacon any longer." "I am willing to work together." Malevolence said. "However, Bacon cannot maintain control of the paper. He is compromised, no longer fit to be guardian of it."
  18. The unspeakable creatures of the night exploded, dying before God Slayer's might. Still they rushed onward toward him, more and more of them crawling from cracks and tunnels leading deeper into the earth. "Because, unlike you, I am willing to do whatever it takes to prevent Rebus from summoning the Witherlord." Malevolence spread his arms wide. "Search my soul, Narrator. There is no deceit in my words. I have sworn to prevent Rebus's plan from coming to fruition, and my Author has affirmed my honesty." Oops, I meant he'd killed Bacon to prevent Rebus from summoning the Witherlord. Fixed it.
  19. "An excellent decision." "Rebus knew, and I have reason to believe certain... forces of darkness, shall we say, that I was in contact with until recently had some sort of insight in the matter, so the secret was already out." Malevolence waved his sword at Bacon. "Now, will you kindly hand over the paper? I do not want to harm you, but if my choices are between your death and Rebus summoning the Witherlord, I will choose the former."
  20. Malevolence turned to Sequence. "You think you can beat me?" He sneered derisively. "I suppose it is possible, with that Blade you carry." He gestured toward the frozen Bacon. "Perhaps we should wait until he responds to my 'request' before battling to the death."
  21. "I will take it somewhere secure. As it is, someone is bound to get it from Bacon eventually."
  22. "A very stupid deal, if you didn't even ask what the paper was before agreeing to get it. And yes, I'm evil. Not nearly so evil as the Witherlord, however." "Yes, but you asked the wrong way. I made it very clear what I was willing to do to get the paper, if Bacon doesn't comply willingly." Malevolence frowned wrily. "Although Bacon may rather die than hand the paper over, and I also may not be able to kill him, so perhaps tricking him would have been a more intelligent approach." Malevolence's eyes flickered over to Sequence. "Knowledge such as this cannot be destroyed. The Authors will not allow it." Malevolence looked surprised. "Excellent. For now, though, we do need the paper. So long as it is in Bacon's hands, the Thread will never be safe."
  23. "I am Malevolence, he who will be the greatest evil in all this thread. As for the rest, if you do not even know who the Witherlord is, you should not be seeking the paper."
