  1. Ash fell from the sky Well that didn't work out Who's attracted to who now?
  2. How about... make everyone leak Investiture at a tremendous rate
  3. Neither, the Nahel Bond is between spren and Radiant, that isn't being shared. An Aviar can grant a temporary Bond, it seems, but still only to one person. Being a Regal has to do with Voidspren, who might not follow the same rules and being of the race of the Singers, so nope. Squirehood is either a bond with the Radiant themselves to grant the ability to breath in Stormlight or just guidance to help the squire as a prospective Knight on the path to Radiancy. As we see, Stormlight can be drawn before even the First Ideal is sworn and one can even use their Surges before a spren initiates the Bond. We see these instances occurring in various degrees across the Orders of the Windrunners, Skybreakers and Lightweavers.
  4. Nightblood is capable of damaging a Shard but here are some WoBs that were missed: *shivers* look at the last one I'm linking this excellent & terrifying scenario here because this might potentially be a Shard damaging event Nightblood isn't uber powerful (yet?) though:
  5. @Ooklidean Geometry, not Karger, that's @Ookla the Prolific but yeah, that's what I assumed @urrutiap, the Cosmere refers to Brandon Sanderson's main body of work, including the Mistborn series. So this is your first Cosmere book, I started with the Final Empire too , hope you enjoy it. Have you read the Wheel of Time series?
  6. True that The new millennium was celebrated in 2000
  7. Hey there, @Death By Taxes! Welcome to the Shard! Fav Miyazaki film?
  8. Oh, which book did you start with to get into the Cosmere, @urrutiap?
  9. Um, has it not been recorded in the Arcanum? Can anyone find & post the WoB? Or post a link to the video?
  10. Hmm... become the main character of Upside Down (without the romantic interest) or have a permanent magnetic dome around you. So many modern conveniences are made of metals, including utensils. Not to mention the possibility of encountering something heavy that pushes you instead of the object (or would we also have Wax level skill with it?) Being upside down would be a problem with getting around. Or eating. Or going to pee or poop. Oh no. Steel bubble it is then. Would you rather be thrown in the world of Malazan or ASOIAF?
  11. Great find, @Eternal Khol! That does make sense, I had completely missed this one. Oh, and welcome to the Shard!
  12. Technically, the next decade begins in 2021 (decimal number system, people)
  13. A-Nicrosil, A-Zinc or Brass and F-Gold
  14. Hmm, I think you can, if you can take your spren off-world.
  15. It's possible to Ascend via this means But not very feasible as others noted. Besides Preservation's situation was rather unique.
  16. He choked to death while eating. Vathi said it changed the way she viewed them Edit: ninja'ed
  17. No thanks, rewind back to the holidays plz
  18. I don't think you're supposed to do an autopsy on an ambassador, without permission from their nation, when they (seemingly) died in front of you, and the ambassador in question is from another world, who are much more technologically developed, spacefaring people who are teaching your world the ropes but you're also kind of stealing from. You're supposed to give their body back and hope it doesn't cause a diplomatic crisis
  19. ⚠ Aether of Night spoilers ⚠ To note: not Cosmere canon
  20. We know that children of a Shard's Vessel would be a bit more than the mundane: Also, have you read Aether of Night?

  22. For those who might be confused why some speculate that Endowment's Vessel Edgli is a dragon. There's a line in Warbreaker, where Dedelin refers to the Hallandren capital, T'Telir as a Dragon's Nest. These quotes from Brandon have further fuelled the speculation: Brandon talks about Dragons a lot: https://wob.coppermind.net/adv_search/?query=dragon There have been multiple threads discussing Edgli's race:
  23. The sphere of the Ire seems to suggest something similar is within the realm of possibility
  24. It does make sense that they might tire of their immortality and want release. Let's checkmark for the characteristics listed 1) The Ones Above travelled via the Physical Realm The Selish would have the strongest motivation to develop a method of travel via the Physical. Both Scadrian and Rosharan magics have been confirmed by Brandon to be suited to space travel. Nalthian magic is still in its infancy in a way, so we don't know its full capabilities. 2) Something prevents them from simply conquering or directly dominating the people of First of the Sun This something could be a Shard like Harmony for Scadrians or social mores, as @The traveller suggests for the Rosharans. 3) It's unlikely that they would arrange for one of their own to choke and die. Faking one's death can be considered to be an ability present in the Ones Above or a subsection of the Ones Above The Kandra and the Lifeless are popular candidates. All of the Shardworlds have magics that might facilitate this. Selish potions from Hrovell, Stormlight might also be able to facilitate a dead act or a Gasper Ferring (though that last part is a bit contentious, as they can't mask their heartbeat,... unless they were wearing spacesuits or something)
  25. Dear Traveller, I thank you for the gift, Highprince. Having a complete set of shards is certainly fulfilling. The blade is beautiful. The One Without Honor @Knight of Iron, Could you look into different donors, I appear to have lost track of mine. The One Without Honor
