  1. Happy Birthday! I read a lot of webnovels, I like Glimwarden but haven't started Shadows of the Limelight yet. Keep writing!

  2. Hello there! Welcome to the Shard! Glad to have you with us!
  3. *background sounds of wretched sobbing & sniffing* I'm sorry... *sniffle* I'm just so happy! To-to finally see speculation about Kaladin's future that doesn't predict him dying or getting tortured on Damnation!
  4. He's hacked the power source but he hasn't hacked the magic system yet. He cannot Awaken via Stormlight I don't think you can reach the Heightenings with anything other than Breath He just uses the free ambient Investiture to feed his Divine Breath to keep himself alive
  5. It isn't difficult to imagine that Mraize would have a lot of skills that people like those of House Ialai might appreciate. He's probably skilled enough to ingratiate himself at an opportune moment or already had an in with House Sadeas.
  6. So who's your favourite character? And who's your least favourite?
  7. 3) This place is of a colour that makes it notable
  8. I think it should work, biologically speaking. The consequences on the other Realms of existence, we don't know, but I think it will either work out or there should be a method to make it work out
  9. Are you admitting to dissimulation & obfuscation? That being said, more relevant WoBs here: the last one is, sadly, quite telling or is it? May I introduce you to this WoB:
  10. If you find the main... body/hive/colony you should be able to kill the Sleepless. They can presumably breed them to have higher resistances to specific effects, so some research before going in would be vital. After the operation, whatever hordelings belonging to the same entity do survive shouldn't have enough cognitive ability to continue functioning as a superorganism. Or at least this is my hypothesis regarding such an undertaking until more information comes along. I think I've seen similar speculation elsewhere, people more or less agree that they can be killed but argue about how many constituent organisms that make up a Sleepless need to be killed and whether they can really considered 'dead' with <how many> hordelings remaining (& of course, the possibility of revival)
  11. I think there's a possibility that the title referred to Taln's tendency of self-sacrifice rather than The Self-Sacrifice™ (the Herald who didn't break the Oathpact & has been getting continuously tortured for millennia)
  12. 6) Humans being the equivalent of spren: I want to see a Shardworld where a Bond with a human grants the non-human (preferably a Cognitive Entity) access to an Investiture system Basically, a reverse of the trope of humans being granted magic by a magical entity, with the humans themselves granting magic to other entities
  13. It is the most popular theory. It was also used to support the Lightspren are the Willshaper spren theory post-OB
  14. Hello & welcome to the Shard!
  15. I suspect that's the Ruin in him. Maybe, in his heart of hearts, he thinks that the people of Northern Scadrial, the former denizens of the Final Empire, have already suffered enough, so he goes all Preservation on them
  16. Sorry but I don't recall noticing any such thing
  17. @StealthPrincess, you're not mad about the Southern Scadrial thing?
  18. Why not put up a full review of it after you're finished? comparisons with other unpublished works or the published version, character analysis, thematic focus, the setting etc
  19. Granted, here you go, a cybernetic eye with bluetooth. Oh! What's that? You wanted it planted, did you? Well, here you go, some surgical tools. Good luck! Your bane is that you are now blind. I wish for a magic notebook (Scribblenauts), that allows me to create whatever I draw or describe on it
  20. Dark but also Awesome! How would you feel about it happening to a non-shard world? In Era 4 that could be more likely, and they'll presumably have a lot more named worlds by then. Hmm, wouldn't have as much of an impact if it wasn't a Shardworld we've personally rooted for We do know that a world aside from Ashyn was destroyed. If this world's story is to be told, and if it was a diShardic world, which it likely was, then we might get a story out of this yet rather than just a backstory or a reference. Fingers crossed!
  21. Eh, I just use my devices' night mode or eye protection
  22. Okay, I'm on board the Sibling & Gemheart connection but not the Sibling is of Autonomy
