  1. Syl, Pattern, Wyndle and Glys are adorable. Ien and Ashe were so nice and kind too. I can't choose one among them. I'll choose one among the rest: the Rainspren sounded cool and weird looking. I already like the Sibling . The Nightwatcher is kinda cool too. I don't really like The Stormfather as a character but he's a pretty cool element of worldbuilding.
  2. But isn't that just based on the word 'Beyond'? Brandon has refused to answer whether there is a connection between the two, and yeah he's also said he's never going to answer whether there actually is a Beyond.
  3. Romance was a fairly important subplot in Elantris (Sarene & Raoden), Warbreaker (Siri & Susebron), Mistborn (Vin & Kelsier) and Stormlight between (Dalinar & Navani, Adolin & Shallan) some of the main leads, especially Mistborn. Sexual & Romantic are very different things. Also I don't get what you mean by calling those characters gay
  4. The link between the Beyond and the God Beyond is completely hypothesized by Sharders. Brandon never says that the God Beyond is a God in the Beyond.
  5. Huh, I thought you were trying to protest or something, my bad 77
  6. I wish to grab books from a parallel universe where all our favourite stories were penned by completely different authors writing in a completely different style
  7. Are we going to get 10 clues? . Wait, you may already have given us 10 clues, there were a lot of tidbits is it Southern Scadrial?
  8. Maybe not during that particular number?
  9. I think it would depend on both the Radiant and spren's perception. To some, not acting is the same as acting, making the choice to let something happen.
  10. I'll, and I assume everyone else as well, would check out what happened at the Shattering. I'd also check out who built Elantris and Urithiru. Also on my bucket list would be the showdown of the ages between Odium and Ambition. I'll also like to see Devotion and Dominion, of course. If I'm allowed to interfere, I'll probably be there at Proving Day, telling the Heralds the truth about what swearing The Oathpact might entail. I wouldn't be able to resist helping out Preservation either. And who knows? I might choose to pick up a Shard myself.
  11. Absolutely, I feel that we will see Shadesmar as more than some mysterious mystical land. There've already been some background trade of knowledge within the book, plus human-spren relations too will be important going forwards. Roshar itself is a crossroads. There are multiple worldhoppers active there currently. The enemy base is located on another world. The two Radiant spren that are still the most angry towards humanity for the Recreance: Stoneward and Dustbringer, seem like the two Orders which will be reinstated by Heralds (for the latter, if the Shalash becoming a Dustbringer theory holds true). The history of the world, the Oathgates, one of the powers of the main cast of characters is to travel to Shadesmar. The Shadesmar won't be a background plot element, there's too much that has been foreshadowed, too much that is integral to the plot. And this is a big opportunity for the Radiants, though they'll have to free the spren cities too, since those are also occupied
  12. I love Surgebinding due to its complexity as a magic system, method of acquisition (it's based on merit rather than something some people just have), personalization (the Orders!) and how the spren remind me of dæmons from His Dark Materials. It just offers so much: boost in strength & stamina, healing, a weapon, armor, companionship with your spren, a chance to meet like-minded people within your Order I also love Forgery because of its complexity and the idea of reality hacking I like Hemalurgy because of how menacing it is, and how costly it is. Also, stealing part of someone's Spiritweb just sounds so badass. I don't really like BioChroma. You can't really do much with your own Breath except to give it up. Many, many others have to give something up, something that is almost inherent to them, in order for the magic system to be usable. Only after acquiring a lot of Breaths does one get access to perks like the Heightenings and is able to access the magic system of Awakening, and the number of Breaths involved to get there just doesn't sit right with me (Yeah, I know, this view is quite contradictory with my views on Hemalurgy, which also requires harm to others but this just hits closer and feels more "real" to me somehow). I don't really like the idea of Returning either, becoming kinda like a vampire, subsisting off of people's Breaths, with the sword hanging over your head that your dying (again, I might add) could do more good for the world than you continuing to exist. That's just messed up. Also, the Lifeless, that's just necromancy
  13. Isn't 100,000 too much? I don't think any topic has had that much post count on the Shard
  14. That is the best take I've seen on the Sibling since Calderis & Blightsong's Melishi imprisoning Ba-Ado-Mishram at cost to not only the Parshendi but also his spren. I like the connections you make for the Sibling. Honorspren do make sense seen in this light, but aren't Cultivationspren closer to Cultivation than Truthwatcher spren? Then again the latter Order's symbol is green and in the shape of leaves. This is could possibly be a cultural thing among the spren like Brandon said
  15. Oh yes. And more than one type. Do you remember Rysn and Chiri-Chiri, her pet Larkin? Those grow up to become Lanceryn: flying, Investiture-sucking, scaled, draconic things
  16. Good to know. I have heard enough horrible things about what goes on in YouTube comments section that I'm not going over to check so I'll have to take you at your word. That does make more sense in the theory-crafting boards, but what about comments simply stating support or interest? Sometimes people (including me) have used "lol" or emoji etc in the article comments section because upvoting article comments isn't an option?
  17. What about forums like the Forum Games and Random Stuff where we frequently do use single word responses and emoticons to express jest or de-escalate situations or it just makes more sense in context (possibly only after reading the whole page) and where post count doesn't increase? Would those be counted as zero content post? What about article comments where upvoting isn't an option? Also why is this a thing? I can't wrap my head around this, wouldn't having a disproportionately large amount of upvotes per content posted be more desirable?
  18. Thought I'd tag it here just in case anyone of you missed it:

  19. @Confused, you believe Taldain's water cycle is involved in its Investiture cycle? I didn't manage to follow your flow of thought. Though, that's an elegant solution to the Autonomy Invested the sun vs Taldain's atmosphere debate, and a possible explanation for the faces in the clouds I think Nalthis' Investiture cycle functions well as Breaths keep getting transferred or going back to Endowment (or seeping into the Earth, possibly helping the Tears of Edgli to grow?). I don't see how light is involved here.
  20. 1) It's very weird to think you're a certain age after 18 2) It's very difficult to wait for other people to post so you can hit a prime numbered post *scrapped* 3) It's easy to wake up on time, when you don't have to wake up on time 52
  21. Hmm... And henceforth I shall only post on prime numbered posts. You took my spot on this one though 24
  22. What're your other favourite books, TV shows, movies, games, anime?
