  1. What are the Thunderclasts? From Dalinar's flashbacks we see a Corrupted spren dive into the stone under the Purelake and afterwards a Thunderclast rises from the lakebed. In Thaylen City, Venli describes the Thunderclast as twisted Singers. Which one is it, are they Voidspren or are they like the Fused, once Singers but then changed by Odium?
  2. Agreed with Karger and Quantus, Odium seems very interested in the tower's full array of features not going back up, those came from the Sibling, which means that he's aware that they're still in play. Why would the three godspren correlate to the three realms (also I'd switch Nightwatcher to Cognitive and Sibling to Physical, Stormfather's okay-ish with the Spiritual) What Dalinar did on Thaylen Field, I think was become a Sliver of Honor and hold a large fraction of Honor's power: Unity being his interpretation of the Shard's Intent and provoking Odium to say that he already killed him (Honor). This was most likely due to The Stormfather becoming Honor's Cognitive Shadow. Why would the Sibling speak through Dalinar? His Bond is with the Stormfather, those are two separate spren
  3. Hmm... @RShara, a link to your theory that the OP mentions? Given that Brandon has said that when colour is leeched during an Awakening, the physical pigment is drained, it seems far more likely that we should look there rather than photons or EM waves. Plus with how colour drains to grey afterwards, that just fits better with pigmentation, something happens Cognitively due to perception Black can be used as fuel while while white can't, except apparently with the Tenth Heightening with prismatic effects: this part works better for your theory though Huh, looks like both are affected
  4. It was made way after Ashyn and the Oathpact, as the emergence of the Radiants is still a more recent memory to the Heralds. There was an argument about where to place the city and had Oathgates to the major Silver Kingdom cities, so this was after the Radiants had established themselves. Ultimately the location was chosen as it was somehow central and "closest to Honor" Who made it and how is as of yet unknown but the Sibling is deeply connected to it as their slumber left many of the tower's features dormant
  5. I think Roshar's form of currency provides adequate answer to the question of whether or not Stormlight's light is Physical or purely Spiritual, given that spheres are gems encased within glass to better distribute its light and is used as a light source by the general populace, including to read and check their reflections. It reflects and it refracts, it's Physical light, it just comes from the Spiritual.
  6. It does take colour When Lightsong gave away his Divine Breath to the God King, his body became grey
  7. According to Khriss (from the WoK Ars Arcanum) there are ten levels of Voidbinding and it is cousin to the Old Magic
  8. Why 'Retrac'?
  9. The person looks real...
  10. Every Nahel spren is different, Glys is even more different
  11. I thought so at first too but the full WoB does seem to describe the system of BioChroma and not just Nightblood Agreed, what Brandon has described seems to fit Breath & Awakening just fine, the former can be transferred freely and latter can be used by anyone who has the requisite amount of the former, and the whole thing fits with Endowment's theme
  12. I like this theory. It does seem that Odium did go to Ashyn first and came to Roshar with them so it's very possible that Voidbinding originated there. "The Unmade are probably the Voidbinding's equivalent of Bondsmith spren..." seems to be contradicted by this WoB:
  13. Hiding, by some method
  14. I read that as him hiding
  15. He's supposed to be good at suppressing his Investiture. No idea how that works though, since we've only seen this with BioChromatic Breath, which makes sense since users of Breath are actually holding their Investiture even while not actively using them (unlike Allomancers who hold Investiture while burning metals or Surgebinders after inhaling Stormlight) and Breath is supposed to be more in the Physical. No idea how he's doing that with all of his other Investiture arts but he's Hoid.
  16. Don't like maths?
  17. This brings up the question of how much Lift's Boon/Bane may have affected Wyndle. Cryptics seem to be more in the Physical than the Cognitive in general, I think, judging by Syl & Pattern's comments and the Cryptic that was trying to Bond Elhokar
  18. Hello to you too and welcome to the Shard
  19. Where and how does Hoid spend his gap years in general??? I mean in between his shenanigans on different Shardworlds when he's experiencing time dilation: Considering the nature of the Spiritual Realm does he physically go there? On Scadrial, On Sel, On Roshar, he was there when Taln appears, when Jasnah appears (and gave her vital info), at pivotal moments with Shallan and Kaladin, at the Alethi court on the Shattered Plains as the Wit, in Kholinar looking for a certain spren, knew the Heralds from way before, hiding from the 17th Shard, probably aware of the Ghostbloods, etc He has multiple plots running at any given time and uses his Fortune to know where he needs to be. Currently, I think he's using a significant portion of his time practicing his Surgebinding or looking into how to travel with his spren. And he's probably doing his small influencing via talking and storytelling which will have significance later on all the while As for the Kholinar secret underground aluminium lined bunker, wasn't it already there and Hoid simply told them where it was and why they should use it?
  20. It's been confirmed by Brandon on reddit that the Sibling is gender non-conforming and considers the concept a weird human thing
  21. That is because the Shards of Sel, Devotion and Dominion, were killed by Odium and their power locked in the Cognitive Realm as the Dor. The Spiritual Realm doesn't care about distance but the Cognitive Realm sort of does. This results in the magics of Sel being region-locked. On Sel, different nations have different magics. The further a magic user goes from their homeland, the weaker the magic becomes. In the case of AonDor users, the city of Elantris acts as a booster to their power. The other magics of Sel also suffer this weakness. The Dakhor monks are also boosting themselves in some manner. All the other manifestations of Investiture on Sel: Forging, Bloodsealing, ChayShan, Hrovell potion making (the character Forton from Elantris gives a potion to Hrathen that made him & Sarene look like Elantrians) also get weaker away from their homeland. Recall that Aon Aon was in the shape of Arelon and Shai commented that the base Forgery symbol resembles the shape of MaiPon.
  22. Yeah, we do! also check out the r/ketek subreddit
  23. My personal recommendation would be for Perfect State and Dreamer, they're both very short but oh so very good
  24. I'd like to try Sand Mastery and Yolish Lightweaving They're old school and just closer to what I imagine when someone says 'magic' I know, I know, this would need to be big production as this needs a lot of artwork but just imagine!
