  1. Thanks! I didn't know this
  2. No, that's the only informative WoB I've managed to find on the subject Brandon has said that the no. of Shards could've been different under different circumstances, but that doesn't really confirm that the number arose because of the no. of people present at the Shattering. Hmmm... if it was one of the Shards we know of, perhaps Endowment? Edgli does seem salty in her letter
  3. Hey there! Welcome to the Shard!

  4. -- That Shard That Just Wants To Hide and Survive, in reply to Hoid's Letter Oof, nice
  5. The prose version is, simply put, much better. The story flows better, the character motivation, personality depth, interaction & development are smoother. The events can be a bit haphazard in the graphic novel, especially vol 1. The prose version is also, of course much more detailed regarding both the characters & world-building (there's a lot of interesting things about Taldain you'll miss if you only read the GNs!). Things gets better in vol 2, and I actually like vol 3 better than its corresponding part within the prose. But that's still only 1/3. I'd recommend reading the prose version and getting vol 3 of the graphic novel (the ending is better, and there's quite an interesting additional scene).
  6. Similar principles: This WoB proves that it's feasible: Using your gold shadow to Forge a Soulstamp would produce quite the Essence Mark, I think. How bounded Allomantic gold is in itself quite useful as it shows a possible version of you having made a different choice, which gives the Forger a more concrete target, I imagine. And yeah, with practice, an Auger should become better at using their metal. We've already got confirmation of how much more a powerful & skilled Seeker could do, including interaction with other Investiture systems.
  7. Welcome to the Shard! We look forward to your art!
  8. I got those first two as well Oh and look forward to the Emperor's Soul in the Arcanum Unbounded as well!
  9. Have you taken the official Knights Radiant quiz?
  10. Welcome to the Shard! Shouldn't be too long, I think we have some rec lists around here somewhere, there's also Aether of Night
  11. Are you looking for a vegetarian culture? I don't think there are any on Roshar. The Vorin nations to the west use Soulcast meat, the Reshi & Purelakers are pescetarian. Iriali & Makabaki eat meat too, as do the Horneaters.
  12. *Chemoarish No, I think that place is similar to the Shattered Plains, it's probably a fortress-city or permanent military encampment. It's on the border with Herdaz and Alethkar frequently wars with them, Jah Keved & the Reshi. Taravangian & Fen Rnamdi both comment on Herdaz usually being the first victim of Alethi aggression.
  13. Feruchemy is from both Preservation & Ruin Scadrial only has the two Shards, though it has been visited by other Shards in the past But only two Shards are Invested there, and only the two were present there for most of its history, including during the Final Empire Though there is Trell post-Catacendre...
  14. We've seen that WoB already, it was being discussed on this topic just a while ago
  15. Huh, the Shan Elariel change actually makes sense. I like it.
  16. Welcome aboard! Have you taken the official Radiant quiz yet?
  17. Put it here:
  18. Hey, have you read Aether of Night?
  19. Welcome to the Shard! Reading the-, huh, I hope you enjoy waiting then.
  20. *yikes* I'm not gonna get into a philosophical debate, so my only post on this is gonna be this. Nope I'm pretty anti-execution, especially execution on the spot. She should've had them taken in.
  21. Including White Sand? What about Aether of Night?
  22. Hey there, welcome aboard! So, have you finished all of the Cosmere books?
  23. Pewter drag alone is dangerous enough, no a Shardblade wound is too much, it cuts you in the Spiritual as well. Yes, Feruchemical gold could heal Shardblade wounds
