  1. Got a leatherbound copy of warbreaker on the way, I will now have every leatherbound cosmere book currently available!

  2. Well, the deal on dice has enticed me to pick up a physical copy of the ttrpg...guess I have reached the inevitable point for all ttrpg players...dice goblin.

  3. Ah another joins us, as another sanderson addict...you are in good company.
  4. Glad to know I am not alone in this habit, one day I will check and immediately grab another signed leatherbound book.
  5. I have nearly every leatherbound book that brandon has put out for the cosmere (looks longingly at the warbreaker book). Backed the version of the secret project that got me hardcovers and leatherbounds cause I have a mighty need for them (hardcovers are my favorites if not leatherbounds). I am also delighted to see warbreaker getting more love, I find that book wonderful but find it has has a lukewarm reputation. My favorite cosmere book would likely be oathbringer though, a certain scene got me balling and helped at a very low time in my life.
  6. Hello and welcome, always happy to see more fans join the forums.
  7. Quite fair, Doxson definitely had his own prejudices against the nobility, for quite fair reasons.
  8. No worries, merely a jest in my part.
  9. That is a very astute observation that admittedly flew right on by me. I figured that he was getting there long before given he wanted to Kelsier to reign himself in a bit in book one. Even so, really love this discussion and analysis everyone.
  10. Much obliged thank you. One of my friends has shown interest in the cosmere as a whole. Mostly trying to figure out how to hack his way through various magic systems.
  11. Well I am happy to say I got all my npcs created for the one shot. With motives, clues, and drama prepped in advance for my players to stumble across. Now to just get a map so they have a basic idea of the manor layout and refresh myself on the rules of character creation. Hope this will provide a good introduction to the setting for them and maybe get them to read the cosmere. Wish me luck
  12. Attractiveness of staff does not factor into my decisions. More that reading through an archive of magical horror stories and perusing relics is strangely a semi dream job for me.
  13. Welcome to the shard, always glad to see more sanderson fans and aspiring writers. Hope you are enjoying the dresden files, haven't done a reread of those in ages but it's a pretty good series.
  14. Alright, go with a basic ones. Favorite cosmere character, book. and if you could have one shard's magic system which would you pick?
  15. Curious how that would work given we sadly did not get a stormlight ttrpg. So far I was just planning to use the mistborn ttrpg for this. My vaguest notion of the guests are still being formed but I may make the murderer a steelrunner so that their seemingly ironclad alibi doesn't actually protect them.
  16. So, I have had a vague idea for a murder mystery one shot amongst a high class Elendel dinner for awhile. The players could be various individuals either of the same house (but different standings), various nobility, or wealthy merchants (or family members of them). A wealthy lord descended from the lord mistborn himself is having an overnight social to decide where to invest some of their assets. Only for him to not appear at dinner and be mysteriously murdered. Basically want my players to play detective and hopefully learn more about the magic systems (Alas I have yet to convince them to really get into the cosmere). Thoughts, advice, etc? Any comments are welcome to those who feel inclined to share. Thank you in advance for engaging with the topic.
  17. To reply in order, mildly concerning given his murderous tendencies but I will concede he has some charisma some may find appealing. Two, unsure how being a windrunner will mix with murder the rich, but you know...morality for windrunners is more mercurial. Finally, glad to see warbreaker getting some love.
  18. What character is your favorite in the cosmere? If you could pick one magic system/power from any shardworld what would it be? Favorite cosmere book?
  19. I think you are on the right track, in general the third oath of the windrunners is them learning to set aside their own biases and protect everyone equally. It is seen as a kind of moral elevation as they are no longer simply selfishly trying to protect others that they themselves care for, but rather learning to acknowledge the duty to protect everyone that they agreed to.
  20. While I am not done with the series as of yet, I greatly enjoy the Eye. Not because I generally fear being observed, but because in all honesty if I discovered all these entities exist...let's just say it wouldn't be long before the institute got my application.
  21. Phenomenal work as always. Always happy to see your creations.
  22. Much obliged thank you, I have recently decided to embrace the comedic contrast in writing tabletop characters who are not even remotely edgy. Capped off by my normal guardsman fighter who became an adventurer purely cause he got talked into buying a house he can't afford. Wasn't even the toughest guardsman either, just a dude.

    Very beautiful art.
  24. Very interesting, I am reminded a bit of how the mistborn rpg was designed and like the parallels.
