  1. Yeah it has been about six years since I have heard about this sort of thing.
  2. I am also perplexed as to why I have been summoned.
  3. About 300 pages into Way of Kings Prime. Interesting story, definitely can tell it is brandon's earlier work. Hoping to finish it in the next day or so.

  4. Well to be fair, the returned are by and large forced by the religion of their country to remain where they are. So to an extent that does account for your question of why aren't they out in the world. Since most likely lack the skills, training, or the knowledge that they might needed to plot their escape. Also most don't want to leave the life of luxury and opulence initially. Yet as siri herself notes upon becoming queen they have everything they could want in the court of gods. Save for freedom to do anything, it is a gilded cage but a cage all the same. This is not even taking into account hearing people day in and day out request your breath to save their dying children, friends, or family. That must take a toll on the person refusing no matter how callous they may believe themselves to be. Even so, that is an interesting take and I will have to keep an eye on the cognitive shadows of the cosmere's mental states a bit more thoroughly from now on.
  5. So, I am starting to wander my way into some of the non cosmere works as I await the lost metal. Just curious if anyone else has much experience with the world of Enderal as I love it immensely and have no one to talk about it with (much like the cosmere). If you are not familiar feel free to comment anyway as I so love to gush about any form of media I enjoy. As always thank you for your time and I look forward to talking with you all.
  6. Doubt anyone will see this anytime soon, but about to start way of kings prime. Eager to discuss other cosmere stuff in the meantime.

Ah, no worries for not being all caught up. Vin was a delight that I will admit. Though of the ladies of the cosmere I am more partial to Shallan personally.

Fair enough, I would have hard time picking my favorite character in general. Wit is high up there but we don't know enough about him yet to say for certain. Dalinar is definitely a contender as well.

  7. Like I said...would be so much better to be a feruchemist.
  8. Hello and welcome.
  9. Still reading through the novella after someone told me brandon wrote a mtg planeswalker. Can't wait to finish it...(dashes back to pdf).
  10. Hello and welcome.
  11. For someone who hated his people's oppressor's Rashek was quite the hypocrite.
  12. Hard to say, I know the forums are open to whomever. I generally type too fast to enjoy text based RP to the fullest. Slows play and all. As far as my story I kind of preferred to sandbox it, but I had written out at least one era of mistborn.
  13. Hoid would likely be my favorite. I quite fond of witticism myself and I would also run around..."acquiring" magical items. Though I have different favorite characters for different series. As for feruchemy I would abuse a lot of the abilities to; sleep normally, not need to study, etc. Granted I would likely be storing 50% of all physical attributes all day, and 10% of the harder stuff (fortune, connection, etc). To have a good reserve built up when I need it.
  14. Equally terrifying in my opinion.
  15. I sincerely love feruchemy because it has so many useful applications. I definitely would love to store wakefulness so I don't wake up at the weirdest of times or am unable to sleep for extended periods (insomnia am I right?)
  16. That is very kind of you, thank you. I admittedly have no concepts written as of yet. Though I have a weird fanfiction idea that could have an origin on scadrial (it is on my profile). Granted I did work out a whole setting and about 20 npcs for my current group of players (forever DM). Was trying to trick them into entering the cosmere, but there just was not enough interest.
  17. So recently I had one of many cosmere inspired dreams. In which the singers came to our plant instead of roshar (strange I know, I don't understand my brain). Essentially plot followed much along the lines of the books. Desolation comes and radiants appear and the battle for earth begins. Still working out the logistics of why bullets and such would not suffice (Beyond the carapace being strong enough to maybe deflect bullets not block them). Though an everstorm did knock out a lot of the infrastructure of human civilizations. My dreams get weirdly detailed I don't know why. The second idea I had was for a member of the 17th shard who is something of an anthropologist studying the various cultures and customs of the cosmere to bring back to silverlight. Granted over time certain issues may push against the 17th shard's non interventionist policies (there will be worldhopping). Have not decided on the home world of the OC's and such. Just curious if either of these sound interesting to anyone and if anyone has any suggestions to make things more interesting. As always thanks for reading and taking the time to comment.
  18. There was a pretty comprehensive list in the alloy of the law version of the mistborn TTRPG (which I still cannot find anyone who wants to run). They were pretty awesome in my opinion. At least as cool as Feruchemy names. Granted I would be a full feruchemist over a mistborn anyday.
  19. Happy to point people in new directions. Never been on it myself, but maybe one day.
  20. Welcome to the shard. Where we have theories galore, and as I recently found out a whole RP section for cosmere stuff.
  21. Yeah I used to bring my cosmere books (and some classic lit) to keep in my work locker for breaks and lunch. Now I bartend so there are less lulls to sit down and read. So, I pull up the coppermind on my phone!
  22. Hello and welcome. Glad to see I am not the only one who compulsively rereads the cosmere.
  23. Hope you enjoy it.
  24. Yeah Mraize is doubtful, though in the same interview Brandon did say Mraize sees himself as nice. Whether most people would agree well...I leave that up to each reader.
  25. So, recently was thinking back on Brandon's description of the Ghostbloods while talking with the 17th shard. To summarize very very briefly, Brandon mentioned that the people drawn to Kelsier's organization are very cut throat and competitive (much like their leader). However, those that Kelsier handpicks or directly oversea tend to be more along the lines of what we saw in era 1. So, A thought I had was that the organization draws people more innately like Kelsier. Yet, the ones he prefers to serve under him are more like his old crew in that they serve as the brakes to his acceleration. As we saw a lot in the first mistborn book Dox, Ham, Breeze, and Clubs all worked hard to curtail some of Kelsier's worst traits. Now given Kelsier's obvious comfort with his own insanity and his egotism I think he is doubtful to try and work very hard to change that. So instead he essentially hires people out to be his own conscience. Particularly given his natural inclination to like innately good people even while not being one himself. Afterword Thank you to those who read this. Kind of random but I guess I am feeling the withdrawal of cosmere content and wanted to voice some thoughts. If you have comments, contradictions, or just wish to talk more I encourage you to comment. Hope you all have a great day, night, etc. Just keep in mind, "There's always another secret."
