  1. I would recommend mistborn if you are just getting into the cosmere. One of the pov characters is in fact a woman, though this is also the case in stormlight. However, stormlight has easter eggs from other cosmere works that you may not get without reading the other stuff. Would say both have interesting female leads, but one is more likeable in the second book according to many fans.
  2. If only we could all go to silverlight and peruse the myriad of texts they likely have on investiture. Would be heavenly to say the least.
  3. While a tad broad I will give it my best shot. A character I enjoyed writing was a D&D rogue swashbuckler who is basically going through a mid life crisis after his wife passed away and he sent his last child off to bard college. So he went back to adventuring to feel useful, granted after decades of indulgence and not practicing his skills he suffered some level loss. That or my lore bard who got kicked out of his magical college after being caught running a scam on noble students to pay tuition. The scam was rather simplistic involving him borrowing money from one student to pay his tuition, then borrowing from another to pay off the previous debt, then repeat. Now he goes around collecting books and such to pay off his student debt and hopefully one day graduate.
  4. I know this pain all too well. Also per a prior comment, can agree that Dalinar's arc is phenomenal.
  5. I understand this pain all to well. I am still trying to manipulate, friends, family, associates, etc into getting into the cosmere. Even trying to convince my friends to let me run a mistborn ttrpg campaign. Youare in good company I assure you, we all can nerd out together.
  6. Good to know, thanks for letting me know.
  7. If memory serves the vacuum of space is immensely cold and things can freeze almost instantly. But I could be wrong, as I admittedly am both terrified of and not particularly interested in space.
  8. Another limit of Feruchemy is that it does not give equal returns if you pull out an attribute in larger amounts than you stored it, due to the compression of investiture. So for your example, lets say I spent six months filling two different brass minds with heat, I likely could burn that all in a few min in space due to the sheer amount of heat I would continually need. If you had a full suit you may be able to stay out even longer, but still the sheer amount of time it would take to fill that metal mind would be immense.
  9. Interesting, any reason you have this preference as opposed to using the official rpg?
  10. I may be incorrect in this but I believe based on coppermind readings (the source for which I do not recall). Preserveration added atium as an allomatic metal (and by extension atium mistings) to allomancy. Harmony I believe rotated this out after their ascension but I could be wrong (since they don't produce it I think Marsh has pretty much all that is left). Sorry I cannot be of more help.
  11. Hello and welcome. Hope you have a wonderful journey through the cosmere and a delightful time here as well.
  12. Breathtaking, excellent work, thank you for sharing it.
  13. Finally got the entirety of mistborn era one in leatherbound. I am ecstatic, and will now proceed to wait many months to read them.

  14. Found it amongst various fan art of a professional slanderer in the cosmere. As for my theorizing I just have an overactive mind coupled with a propensity towards finding loopholes I can exploit. The politeness, well nothing wrong with attempting to maintain a certain level of tact. Thank you.
  15. Oh crap, well. I appreciate your kindness in correcting me of my errors. A rarity nowadays.
  16. Ookla, I greatly enjoyed your Picrew. Definitely felt like you nailed an Alethi look, and thought that was really cool. (Apologies for the lack of ping, I am unsure how to do that).
  17. Been awhile since I last posted but I have good news. Combination of an upcoming birthday and some savings allowed me to complete my collection of leatherbounds for the mistborn series. Very excited for their arrival...whenever they come.

  18. Delighted to say my friend (and player when I run ttrpgs) has just completed way of kings. Can only hope they will now catch the cosmere fever like the rest of us.

  19. Well took way longer than the first time, but I finished my reread of the way of kings. Must say the leather bound was well worth the money and the wait.

  20. I believe the pact was more specifically to keep the fused on Braize. I don't know the full story but I imagine the oath pact was meant to be a one time deal. The heralds would go to braize to keep humans on Roshar safe forever. The oath pact would be weakened when a herald "broke" and relented allowing the fused and the heralds to return to Roshar. Granted I could be wrong, but given Honor's intent I could see that being the case.
  21. Just wanted to say thanks to all my new follows. Will try to come up with some new insane theories for you all though I may need more material to do so. Otherwise feel free to make a post or something to chat about anything else if you wish.

  22. Fair enough critique. The magic system is in its infancy at the moment.
  23. Will have to do so. I have the basic mechanics out, basically every magic is warlock based. Humans are incapable of casting on their own, so they make deals with supernatural creatures (some long term, most short) to use it. Just working on devising rules and integrating it into how I envision the world.
