  1. Ah, that makes things difficult. You probably don't have more than 4GB of RAM, which places limits on what you can do to get around any restrictions they have What for?
  2. Indeed, but most people don't even know what DNS is, let alone how it works. Chromebook or windows?
  3. It's you Internet service provider, not the laptop that shares the information, and it is necessary to access the internet, so it isn't something you can decide to turn off.
  4. What's scarier is that every website has access to that information, most just don't tell you. For example you can see this on the shard Account Settings > Recently Used Devices So be careful about clicking links you don't trust, someone could be trying to get your IP address or real location. You're welcome
  5. That's probably the location of your cell tower, or the site of your ISP.
  6. You can be stopped by complete national lockdowns? Indeed. Be aware you internet service provider can reveal your location. See https://dnsleaktest.com/ For how accurate it can get. VPNs or Tor can remedy the issue
  7. That is such an odd threat Indeed doxing oneself is not ideal
  8. Yeah no clue on that one. Not a huge fan of it either.
  9. Why I'm not sure, but personally I propose Ba-Ado-Mishram as the explanation. Additionally I've been thinking, having Wind and Stone be pure tones the shards adapted to doesn't work, as Honor had a great affinity for stone, and had to help Cultivation when she wanted to manipulate it, despite Wind being most closely associated with Honor.
  10. Make them the equivelant of a boss if the players had the stats of Focused Ones.
  11. You are forced to give up your hands in exchange for any magic system. The only rule is you can't use the magic to get your hands back.

What magic system do you pick?

That one guy from Doctor Strange had pretty good luck with whatever it is they do.

I mean, the obvious answer is one that lets you use some form of telekinesis.

I actually don't think I have a specific answer to this. Not exactly satisfying, I know, but I can't think of one where the tradeoff would be worth it.

      Hmmm mental earthbending

I don't get my hands, i get cool ah earth hands

and if mental earthbending doesn't count

then Dust Marrow from my special magic system (with Ichor)

  12. Interesting, I'll look into that. I think it's more likely that Wind and Night adopted the Tones of Honor and Cultivation, as all shards have Tones, though they are more pronounced on Roshar And Roshar's tones shifted to adopt Odium once he arrived in the system, and shifted again when Taravangain took up the shard. Though that does potentially bring a solution to the four tones as BAM connected herself to all of Roshar and the tones started doing some funky things once she did.
  13. Um, that's what started this whole thing in the first place
  14. Where are you getting four pure tones from? I don't recall a number ever being given. Additionally I would note that all Pure Tones we know of are associated with a Shard, and Roshar notably adapted to each new arrival, the pure tones were not already there.
  15. I think "flavors" of Judaism is one of the funniest things I've heard all day. Thanks for the resonpse, but it does raise some additional questions. I thought(and you may correct me) that the restriction from preforming sacrifices outside the Temple in Jerusalem was implemented by King Josiah during his anti-idolatry campaign. Likewise there are several instances of people offering sacrifices in other locations, most notably the Tabernacle, which the early Isrealites took with them as a mobile temple. Are those seen as one time exceptions, or was it permissable and now isn't?
  16. So, why don't you do animal sacrifices anymore? I know that the various different ideologies(groups, branches? What's the official term?) Of Judaism have different ideas, but it's something I've never been able to find out. For Christians, the belief is that the sacrificial death and ressurrection of Christ ended sacrifice by the shedding of blood. However, as far as I know Judaism doesn't have an equivelent doctrine.
  17. @Shatter I take it based on the Hebrew you're Jewish. If so, and you don't mind, could I ask you a question?
  18. You're good, goodness knows I've said things I regret. The 4 Billion was more to demonstrate that Google is more than willing to violate the law on a massive scale. If you're not worried then more power to you. I hope this didn't come off as "Google is bad and you must switch to one of my recommended alternatives." I was more detailing reasons why I personally don't like them and decided to switch, and to offer some of the information I found to others who might also be interested.
  19. Would you give up your hands for magic?

      sounds kinda useless tbh..

      or maybe I'm just boring.

But magic has no place in this world.

I'll just get dissected or something, or arrested cuz they think I'm an arsonist or something.

so maybe? depends on how I felt that day probably.

  20. You know there are more polite ways to ask me for sources. I suppose I should start by saying this is starting in the US, and not all of these features are necessarily available(or available for users) everywhere. Photos has an "Opt-in" that has Gemini scan all photos in your album and generate images of you and your friends/family: https://www.forbes.com/sites/zakdoffman/2026/04/20/google-starts-scanning-all-your-photos-as-new-update-goes-live/ Photos employs AI moderators that scan your photos and remove anything they deem violates their policies Photos has an AI search feature So they have an open admission that you can opt-in to having AI train on your photos, as well as two features that are passively looking at them. Of those two the search feature in particular is open about the fact that they do train on your prompts. In order to do that they also need to train off of the photos that you get the results from, which they don't say. Photos is next to inarguable. Docs is a bit less clear Google claims that it isn't training its models on them, but I have several reasons to doubt them. They added AI reading of documents, so you can listen to them. Multiple people have reported that google has locked them out of their documents, with the only explanation that we can find being the content of the documents. https://freedom.press/digisec/blog/google-docs-locks-out-writer/ Google has already added content filters to docs in the past. Google has show a pattern of behavior, that ignores user will and privacy, a short look at their history of fines over privacy law violations will show this. Hundreds of millions of dollars in individual fines, and yet despite this, they haven't stopped. These two things stand Google used to have a slogan, "Don't be evil" Statement number one is only true in the past tense. Even assuming they aren't actively training their models on everything right now, they have already begun implementing training on user data, and all signs indicate this will only increase. It takes a single update for an "opt-in" feature to become "opt-out" or even non-optional, assuming Google even honors the "opt-in" which they have proven before they are willing to violate(see below). The largest AI models already have everything easily available, and they are beginning to look for new material. Google is sitting on top of one of the largest sources of human writing, including material that no other AI model has access to. Do you really trust them not to? I wish you luck, but I don't think Google is too concerned about the law, or the potential penalties they would face. That's over a billion dollars just from ignoring privacy laws in the last couple of years. I didn't even list all of them, or their other legal fines for violating laws unrelated to privacy. In total Google was fined almost 4 Billion dollars in legal penalties in 2025 alone. https://proton.me/tech-fines-tracker
  21. I barely use Discord, but if I can get time I'll give it a look.
  22. Whoops, I just edited that I had found one. XD Up to you.
  23. Ah, I don't think there's a desktop app, just a website you can use once you have a note on the app already. https://www.protectedtext.com/ But I can keep looking @CoderDrag0n8 I found it https://www.bluestacks.com/apps/productivity/safe-notes-official-app-on-pc.html
