  1. I know right? I honestly do it based around when a large group of sharders join at once, but it's really just all made up.
  2. Hey can we revive this? I'm guessing no one is using this, so I'll take over. This place is in the mountains
  3. Imagine being one of the older sharders. I think I'm currently watching the fourth generation since mine, but I have no idea how many occurred during my mission.
  4. So, here's a question. Given that the silvery inside portion of Elsegates is speed of light distances That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, as I thought that this was closer to spacebending, but regardless. Lets say something is inside the Elsegate when it closes: What happens? My new plan: if we cannot overwhelm the Herald with AonDor, we will get an enlightened Inkspren, and infiltrate the Herald's forces. We then open an Elsegate to Scadrial, wait for them to enter, and then close it.
  5. Okay, quick question: What's an opinion someone else has had that just leaves you flabbergasted that anyone believes them.

I say this because someone tried to explain to me that Microsoft Excel was designed to keep women out of STEM careers.

I'm still trying to make heads or tails of it.

      Their argument was:

      1. They couldn't understand Excel

      2. Excel is used in STEM careers

      3. ???

Conclusion: Microsoft Excel was designed to keep women out of STEM careers.

No amount of me saying that it's a spreadsheet, or that I find it difficult to understand as well(even though I find it leagues above google sheets) could change her mind.

huh. seems like a bit of a logical leap.

That's some very befuddling logic xD I also don't understand Excel lol
I know someone who to this day believes that Covid is a government hoax. Like it never actually existed. No idea why, and I haven't attempted to engage in that debate 💀

  6. That's actually quite a deep and insightful analysis. Well unfortunately my cousins aren't anywhere near this deep into the Cosmere, so no. Here's a thread from 2020 of me hating on Navani So I'm guessing it's self-published, given your penchant for absolutist morality... Jon del Arroz?
  7. As one of the individuals behind that madness I am glad someone else brings this up now and again. @Aliroz-The-Confused I just want to say that your post had me dying from laughter, please make more threads like this. Small point here, mostly because I have spent probably more time than anybody on these threads calculating the potential yield of the bomb And it wouldn't have taken out the whole basin, though they might have felt it. Based That's actually hilarious, and also a lot of my personal thoughts. That is an interesting observation on narative expectations and how they shape reader perceptions. I am still confused about this part though: but who come off as scoundrels and rogues because the narrative prioritizes the viewpoints of those they most oppose over those they most help, Stop I'm dying. That's too funny. Also I too hate Jasnah and Navani. Okay but: 1. That was really funny 2. Sadeas deserves it. I really want to know who individuals 1-3 are now. Yeah SA characters get plot armor beyond any reason. Brandon even retconned who discovered aluminum/conjoiner fabrials because it was more important Hulio figure it out than someone we didn't know. I have been saying for years the metalic arts need some buffs. Also this is hilarious.
  8. I think they would just move. As for having a fixed location, not the faintest idea.
  9. Looking at this again I actually think it won't work, just like how you can't summon a shardblade in ana aluminum room, the Heralds wouldn't be born there.
  10. Kalak also had no Stormlight and no Honorblade. Had he possessed either he could have escaped easily, and we have no idea how many breaths Felt used awakening the curtains. I don't think that spikes larger than their bodies would work, based on how important Intent and bindpoints are, now you could possibly use the Aluminum Maiden(TM Frustration, all rights reserved), and try spiking all known bindpoints at once, that could work.
  11. Control of shades is just what we know about them. Considering what Sigil went through with the desolations and that he considers the Night Brigade more dangerous... I think there's a lot we don't know about them.
  12. Not necessarily shades themselves. They hear about shades and say that the: "Forces of Threnody" are getting involved. Considering the Night Brigade and that even Sigil thinks of them as an overwhelming force that doesn't seem too much of a stretch to me for them o be worried.
  13. You make a solid argument, my only question is who does the torturing then?
  14. The Heralds also die to get there, but they have bodies to be tortured, as the Fused must have bodies to torture them with.
  15. They Eila stele says that humans destroyed their homeworld using magic they were forbidden to touch, i.e. Surgebinding. Not the use of Spren. And we can see that Regals did not predate the shattering for a few reasons. 1. Honor lists them as a development Odium made in their arms race. 2. There were no Regals in between the Desolations, they were sealed away just like the Fused were. 3. Regals cannot hear the normal Rhythms of Roshar
  16. Yes, but when Ishar is making Kaladin a Herald he says that the Immortality is separate. And Jezrien was still alive in WaT, as there is something there that El kills, even if it is too small for Kalak to sense. They are in the Physical Realm as Raboniel tried having Fused fly to Roshar, but they died trying. If the Herald is leading an army against Scadrial I imagine they are free from Braize.
  17. It's when Adolin and Shallan are starting their expedition into Shadesmar. I believe it was Adolin's PoV, I just took notes on it, so I unfortunately do not remember the chapter.
  18. Lightweavers can move physically to the CR, but it isn't easy for them. RoW page 322
  19. It's important to remember that Ishar said that their immortality is separate but related to the Oathpact, even taking that bond out, assuming you could do that, would probably not be enough.
  20. "Your Honor, I have no recollection of the event, I'm innocent." "We have video evidence of you killing the President." "I am... pretty sure I'm innocent."

    GB Ultra

So I was having a discussion with @Trusk'our the other day about Scadrial, when an idea came to me, and not necessarily a nice one. We know that Era 3 is supposed to be a 1980s spy thriller, there is a cold war between the north and the south, the ghostbloods and other secret societies are a big deal, and we're probably going to get more information on hemalurgy. Alone these make for an interesting story. Together, they spell out something sinister. I present this hypothesis, that in era 3 we will see the Scadrian equivalent of MK Ultra. MK Ultra took place during the 1950s to 1970s, as part of the Cold war between the USA and the USSR, involving the CIA and other government organizations. They were undertaken with a large amount of drugs, psychological torture, abuses of all kinds, electroshocks, sensory deprivation, and the more you look at it the worse it gets. Ladies and Gentlemen, I rest my case
  22. So let me see if I can explain. The reason Dalinar couldn't evacuate the humans from Roshar is that Honor is bound to that system just as much as Odium is, until Dalinar as Honor revoked the agreement all of the Shards and their powers were stuck there.
  23. I really need to stop going through my old friend's profiles. It's just making me sad.

  24. Hey queen, how are you doin?
