  1. Yes Okay I'm seeing this in a few battles so I thought I'd make a post about it. To the players, your judge will give you a description of your opponent, that is all the information you will receive before the battle starts. I recommend planning for other magic users with the equipment you take before that point. I'd also like to reemphasize the example post Other than that have fun and enjoy your battles, we should have another one ready here shortly.
  2. You remember Clone Season? Dang you were lurking for a long time.
  3. Lerasium unto itself is powerful. The bead Elend had, which couldn't have been that large as he could swallow it while unconscious, so pill sized, made him multiple times stronger than an Inquisitor who had at least two steel spikes and might have been a coinshot before hand. Taking just a fragment of that to alloy with a metal would require next to nothing for noticeable results. We don't need everyone to have copper to block detection, only one individual. The copper they have is just to prevent emotional manipulation, which seeing Wax(which may or may not have been copper in TLM) should be just fine even with small doses. Electrum on its own would require too much training to be worth it, we just want it to fight atium or other similar abilities.
  4. I have for a long time been of the opinion that assuming equal amounts of lerasium, one which was pure and the other alloyed with Steel would make the coinshot 16x stronger with Steel than the mistborn. Honestly I'd make a set of near mistborn, all of whom have Steel, pewter, a tiny amount of tin and copper and electrum(barely enough to be a difference) bronze, duralumin, and Chromium. Certain individuals within the group would get: 1. Iron, and a larger dose of pewter and steel. 2. Zinc and brass 3. A larger dose of copper 4. Nicrosil, and a larger dose of tin 5. Bendalloy 6. Cadmium + grenades The idea for this team is covet-ops. Get in and get out before the enemy can mobilize. If they need to they can through hands with some heavyweights from the cosmere, but that should be a last resort option.
  5. We aren't sure, Brandon has been cryptic when he talks about Threnody.
  6. This is giving me clone season flashbacks
  7. Ever since Covid I've struggled telling the days apart.
  8. Okay you had me until this part. You cannot talk about my boy Tom Bombadil like that. I think Kaladin failing to say the fourth ideal in OB to be one of the most realistic, and because of that one of the most important moments in that book. I think that you might find realistic plots boring, or that the last five years to make a terrible story. I must disagree. Yes there are a lot of contrivances in the Cosmere, but just showing that the problem exists in other places doesn't make it not an issue.
  9. Hard disagree, I've found that Hoid was far more enjoyable when we got less of him. The more 'humanization' that he gets the less interesting I find him.
  10. That's really not true. Universal rationality can be dated easily to Plato, and 90% of what we have records of the Greeks talking about you can find Egyptian or Babylonian records from a thousand years earlier saying the same things. While I haven't found anything on this particular topic personally at the moment, I'll refrain from saying for certain that this specific idea does. As for making war less brutal or violent, in many ways ancient war was less violent than modern war. The Egyptian general Piankhi gave orders for his captains to ask the enemy where to have the battle. It was common to ask an army to leave their defenses to have battles on fair ground. Many ancient cultures followed the law of the third offense, that they were not allowed to go on the offensive until after they had been attacked and given the enemy the chance to settle three times.
  11. I don't think Ishar needs Odium juice at all to do this. Simply removing the Connection to Odium would be more than enough to kill the Fused. This is something any unchained Bondsmith should be able to do. I would agree with PanLin that we do. Rayse, Taravangian, Ati, Leras, Tanavast, were all pretty bound by their Intent. Fighting too hard against it will either get your personality overwritten like what happened to Ati, or the Shard will leave you like it left Tanavast.
  12. "You don't need that," - Wikipedia
  13. So I'm working on something and just thought I'd poll you guys here. What are your thoughts on reducing copyright protections? Currently they last(in thr US) for the lifetime of the author+70 years. What would your thoughts be on the copyright only lasting 15 years?
  14. Huh, I knew the mods could do that but I thought that was a permissions thing. They can also change the color around the @ box. Or if you're Mestiv cause Aonene's profile Pic to rotate endlessly.
  15. This is the cosmere board, you only need spoiler tags for Isles.
  16. Okay, mild corporate advertisement, but Brave is just the best web browser.

      Frustration

The best recommendation for Brave I can give, is open a Brave browser and without any modifications watch your standard YouTube videos for an hour. The feeling of loading a video with no ads is just *chefs kiss*

How do you have over 100 notifs? I think my record was 26 and I thought that was crazy. I actually went in and changed my notif settings because I couldn't deal with it.

I probably would have had more when I got back from my mission but the shard only keeps them for like 6 months or so.

    3. Immortal Platypus

      Immortal Platypus

When I left for a summer and didn't check the shard at all, I came back to like, 150. Then I changed my notif settings cause that is a ton of work. Now I'll rarely top 20, even in SU heavy days

      CoderDrag0n8

I guess i should change my notif settings

Although I do have an adblocker called Adguard Adblocker, and it blocks youtube ads.

  17. Huh, I didn't even know the inspect feature would make it stay in the post.
  18. I agree that it is among the general population. However to get enough participants I don't think that there would be enough Mistings who would volunteer, even for substancial cash payouts. Not to mention you still need enough women to serve as surrogates, which while not necessarily going to affect the genetics, but they can be counted in our total population figures. I honestly am of the opinion that the Set was not too forceful with a breeding program they just wanted allomancers as it was necessary for a perpendicularity. On feruchemists the Terris tend to keep to themselves, which does make that quite significantly easier as their genetics aren't as dispersed.
  19. Before whatever you wish to type use square brackets: [] inside those brakes write 'color rrggbb' with r g and b being variables for red green and blue with values ranging from 0-9 and a-f. For example my color is 00ff00 For @Frustration I would give you a demonstration here but it tends to break so I'll use parenthesis instead. (Color ff00ff)
