So, wait... Does this mean that if someone bonded an Unmade, they would be able to have them manifest as a Dawnshard in the physical realm? Or did that get broken by Odium's influence?
-
To add to your Breath shenanigans, what about the perfect color recognition? would that ability to see precise colors also be compoundable with tin? what about Perfect Pitch? are they augmentations to sight and hearing, or different senses? would storing sight with perfect color cause that stored sight to be incompatible with previous, "normal" sight, requiring a different Tinmind? I have so many questions so suddenly!

then again, Sazeium not only works better, mostly acts like atium/lerasium in name, but also sounds like Cesium, which it does act like, exploding in water.
-
But then what if they do? What if they want their body to change that way, based on the Spiritual Filtered Through the Cognitive of themselves? Like an identity (not Identity) thing. If someone identifies as male, and they want to be male, could it change them to that with proper planning and agreement?

From what it sounds like, a Pewter Compounder would be much like Duralumin+Pewter Allomancy, but without the obvious restriction of needing a second allomantic metal instead. Possibly more awesome, as it wouldn't be an immediate click of All of Your Pewter Is Gone Now, but still a controllable burn of Pewter (albeit charged with pewter allomancy's effects via feruchemy).

Imagine if you used honey from the nectar of the Tears of Edgli, as well! That's an interesting thought... Honey is already ridiculously healthy, and aren't the flowers the physical manifestation of Endowment's Investiture? Hmmm...
-
So if blood is too thin to awaken into a shapeshifting golem, then use honey i mean, it is ridiculously viscous... I have a feeling it would try and take on a serpent-like form to account for the fluidity of its material.

Well it's still a spren detecting a human emotion and indicating when that emotion is felt, but you're right, that does mean the position of the emotions are decided by humans, then. Interesting that I didn't notice that, and the other images on the page for the emotion-fabrial seem to suggest that there's a central gemstone that glows in different directions to light up the gems in the shape of the Double Eye.

Personally, ever since I read the "I will give you my sorrow" line (and also "you cannot have my pain!" from Dalinar) I've believed that Odium's proper Invested Art involves an emotional void in some way. It would be interesting then, if there are 10 (or perhaps 9, i'm not sure) emotions that... were... wait a moment. We have seen emotions tied to the 10 Orders before. The emotional fabrial bracelet has gems in the shape of the Double Eye, and they light up according to what emotions are being felt by the wearer. If we zoom in on the actual labels of which spot is which emotion... we geeeet... https://imgur.com/a/but0vQx Interesting setup. But the problem is that "sorrow" (Sadness) is aligned in the Lightweavers' position, and Hate is in the position of the Truthwatchers. But we know those are arranged accurately because the light-patterns are dictated by the Spren inside the fabrial, not by human decision. Ah. The Spren dictates the light pattern. Perhaps there lies a solution to this. Perhaps, and I'm starting to really reach here, but what if the Spren of this emotionrial (i guess) needed to be Enlightened by Sja-Anat to reconfigure the light patterns to be accurate to Voidbinding? After all, Glys is also Enlightened. If that's the case, then let's say for the moment that all the emotions shift counterclockwise by 1 position, putting Sadness into the place of Truthwatchers. Now what? We now have a very roundabout way of determining the needed emotional void for other Orders with Enlightened Spren? Sure, maybe. I'm just trying to lay down the foundations here. My only question is would Dalinar have given up his Joy if he were to be corrupted by Odium? That is what would follow the pattern I've set up so far, but perhaps I'm thinking about this wrong. What if it's not neccesarily the Order being associated with an emotion, but a Surge/Void that would be associated? then it would suddenly add up for Renarin to need Sadness to use his Illumination for future-sight, as that is the signature surge of the Lightweavers, in a manner of speaking. Does that make sense? Sorry, I just had an epiphany there with the emotions being linked to the Double Eye pattern, and had to run with it for a couple paragraphs.

It definitely seems like the planets have "magic numbers" and due to the fact that all investiture had to "flavor" itself to match one of the 16 shards, all the investiture currently not in Adonalsium or Yolen would be pockets of certain shards' power off on other planets. With that in mind, it seems reasonable to suggest that Roshar (or Greater Roshar) naturally had a lot of Honor/Cultivation's investiture already in use (e.g. the Spren, perhaps even the perpendicularities on Roshar aligned themselves that way), so Honor and Cultivation settled there to have a lot of their investiture at the ready to use as they saw fit. Likewise, perhaps Nalthis had a lot of Endowment's investiture around, or Sel already had Dominion and Devotion's investiture. Scadrial is an interesting exception as Preservation and Ruin created the whole planet themselves, thus its number and all the ambient investiture would be automatically attuned to their shards. Braize being 9-centric instead of 10, when all of greater Roshar is 10-centric, and Braize is sort of Odium's shardworld, does seem to imply that Odium's powers do some sort of "shardic subtraction" to the world-number. if he went to Scadrial, would it become 15-centric? Would we lose an entire metal from the charts? I doubt it, at least for allomancy/feruchemy/hemalurgy. Those seem firmly rooted in 16 by the will of the shard on the planet. I suppose Odium's metallic art (side note: what a scary thought) and it's magical resonances (like feruchemy being a resonant system of Preservation and Ruin) would possibly be 15-centric instead, but who knows what that would mean.

That's how I've always thought it would work. Which would actually make them quite a handy duo.
-
Seeing yourself with that future would also then allow you to change it by avoiding that situation at all costs (like how you can avoid the normal Electrum shadows that get, say, stabbed in the face)
-
I agree with all of these except cadmium/bendalloy because those seem like distinctly physical effects whereas atium alloys do Mental and Temporal effects. The rest of those sound really good, though! Far better and more interesting than pretty much every other atium alloy powerset i've seen... even the ones i've tried to come up with.
-
Ah, yes, I bet it would help you hear someone tapping or storing feruchemy. I think brandon has said it would take "a tweak" to bronze sense to make it able to detect Feruchemy, so that might be it. Also an extended range makes sense, too.
-
Actually, Atium alloys do "various temporal AND mental" effects. Because pure Atium not only shows you the future of people and objects (like arrows) around you, but it also boosts your mental capacity and speed (hmm, like F-Zinc) to handle the influx of extra information. And if the alloys follow the same pattern as gold malatium, then alloys of atium invert the internal/external axis of the allomantic chart. Which kind of makes sense thematically, the god metal of the shard opposite to Preservation causes the effects of his magic system to be inverted. So electrum-atium would... Huh. It would show you the future of others around you. ...Just like normal atium? Wait a minute, but then...
-
I find that very believable. I also wonder if allomantic tin can also enhance your "sense of balance" which seems to typically fall under the realm of Pewter allomancy, thus meaning that someone adept in both would have fantastic mobility, far beyond one just burning pewter.

Nergaoul as a splinter of Ambition
Halyo_Alex replied to Dunadan Windrunner's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Wait, does that mean that bonding with an Unmade would technically make you a (presumably Void-variant of) Bondsmith? If they're meant to parallel the Stormfather, and bonding the Stormfather makes you a Bondsmith... woah. That's kinda worrying tbh. -
I think what RShara is saying is that you could charge the Nicrosil the same amount, but that you could do it with less metal burned. Or charge it faster. Whereas you are explaining how being a stronger mistborn would increase the total power that the Nicrosil could store?

Nergaoul as a splinter of Ambition
Halyo_Alex replied to Dunadan Windrunner's topic in Cosmere Discussion
personally i like to think of Nergaoul as part of a neccesary "conservation of emotion" and he's the output of it all by design of Odium, putting it to good use to "prove" that he's "Passion" and not Odium. -
Thought on bonding multiple spren
Halyo_Alex replied to Elsecaller_17.5's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yup. That's the one! It's also interesting that all the diametrically opposite orders are connected, even though i'm fairly certain honorspren and cryptics (for example) really don't get along very well and would probably hate sharing a Radiant together. -

if you go to the Coppermind it's the picture for the Surgebinding article. -

Also if you take note of the KR chart from TWoK, there is literally a line connecting Windrunners and Edgedancers. Also Lightweavers and Stonewards, interestingly. -
The speed bubble one seems a bit unlikely, if only because you can see the bubbles from the outside as well.

Hmmm... Random crackpot hypothesis. The beyond is the equivalent of a Spiritual realm Black Hole (or Event Horizon in some capacity). I mean, if you can't come back from it, and it's where your spirit goes. If that's the case then who KNOWS what sort of spiritual mumbo-jumbo goes on in there.
-
Now I just want a comedic KR that literally swears at the Stormfather while making his Oaths, like, "I storming promise to protect the innocents of the world!" or something
