You get an extra passive effect, from the resonance of the two powers in your spiritweb constructively interfering. Twinborn get those.

Atium alloys have temporal and mental effects. You can see it mentioned right on the allomantic table (for example on the Coppermind). That being said, I feel like the Enhancement quartet would become temporal, and the Physical quartet would become Mental. That way the whole top half is Mental and the whole bottom half is Temporal, which is the halves that Mental and Temporal are already on. So in that case, I feel like Pewter/Atium could do something like the mental component of normal Atium; expanding your mind to comprehend what's going on around you in a supernatural capacity, without the Atium Shadows. Aluminum/Atium would be an interesting case, I think it could do something like... subdue the allomantic potency around you. dampen everyone's burn rate. Something like that.

Sounds like something that would need the combined strength of Honor and Cultivation, which would probably wreck Roshar's biosphere anyway, so...

So, Gravitation from a distance?
-
So would that mean the one in Aimia became... Yelig-Nar and scoured it? Is that the unmade that did that? Am i misremembering that we even know an unmade did the scouring of aimia? Probably!

theory The Unmade are Truthwatcher, not Bondsmith, spren
Halyo_Alex replied to KandraAllomancer's topic in Stormlight Archive
That sounds pretty reasonable. Alternatively it could be Tension or Cohesion used to manipulate the shape of the carapace, and the spren-bond provides a Form with loads of carapace to manipulate in the first place.- 30 replies

I think more of those abilities (like auto-shielding from the brightness of Stormform lightning) will become present or explained when living plate is revealed. I definitely think reshaping it into new forms will be doable, and if it's even half as vibrant (not the word I'm looking for but it's what came to mind) as Shardblade shapeshifting, then there's probably very little to limit it other than the will of the wearer. Plus, if it's Connected to the Radiant, they can probably do stuff like bond Lightweavings to it to have a "screen" on the arm plating to display stuff.

That depends. Cosmere healing (the magically-superhealing kind) is based on Cognitive Self-Perception filtering your Spiritual Ideal self. So yes, if Kelsier had access to F-Gold during TFE, he probably would regenerate the scar tissue instead of fresh skin. In the case of OP's suggestion, Identity is part of the spiritweb, hence why F-Aluminum is a Spiritual Feruchemical metal. As is Hemalurgic Duralumin, which can steal Connection and/or Identity, so Kelsier probably could manage something wack like that. I mean he figured out Medallions, and he's one of the best Mistborn, so obviously he's very clever with the Metallic Arts.

That's a good point! But then Brass stores thermal energy (though that was meant to be Electrum, which is in the same category as Bendalloy, so...)

It would also be really interesting to discover that humans could store electrical energy in Bendalloy if they released themselves from prior expectation. Intent may play a big part in Feruchemy and we just don't know yet.

compounding I'm a bit confused on compounding
Halyo_Alex replied to That1GuySpencer's topic in Mistborn
Also important to note is that the whole process bypasses the usual issue of conflicting identity with metalminds, which is why Vin couldn't burn Sazed's Pewtermind for feruchemical strength. -
I think Identity might be an issue BUT then again if Ettmetal can do this, then just set up F-Aluminum too.

Oh I guess that would make sense. In that case, F-Pewter on a sword might make it cut supernaturally well, like a standard Shardblade.

Well yeah, but the thing I'm talking about is how as external metals, atium and malatium "didn't fit the pattern" of the external/internal pairs being different. Especially now that we know all 16 basic metals, Chromium and Nicrosil are the ONLY exceptions to this. Steel and Pewter aren't the same effect but internal/external, copper and zinc aren't the same but internal/external, and bendalloy and electrum aren't the same but internal/external. Chromium and aluminum ARE the same effect but internal/external. This is very weird, and I question it every time I think about Chromium.
-
Oh shoot, yeah, you could do that. I guess I tunnel visioned a bit too hard on replicating the basics. Maybe A-Steel/Iron would be a fun power for it. ...Hey wait, a sword that can Push or Pull metal objects, and (with the F-Iron) has mass shifting, I've heard of this before! Skallagrim's youtube video on sword enchantments (the very same video where he mentions allomancy and is the reason I know about the cosmere)! Portable Waxilium; Just add Steel! It stores "physical strength" as in, the physical size of musculature in the human body. That's really tough to translate to machinery/nonliving stuff, actually. Would it just make the sword expand when tapping it?

What really irks me about these two is that "gold but to other people instead of you" and "electrum but to other people instead of you" is EXACTLY WHY Atium and Malatium were supposed to feel like they DID NOT belong on the Allomantic chart in the sense of being the "real" external temporal metals. It feels like Chromium and Nicrosil should be like an AoE of some sort that subdues or enhances people's allomantic strength, not just being a "boop your metals are gone/superflared".
-
Okay, that's convinced me. I've struggled to explain that sort of thing for a while, and this just makes a bunch of sense. Also, do you think that this reinforces the possibility of using Ettmetal to create a Scadrian Shardblade? Perhaps with a mix of A-Pewter and F-Iron, to make it super durable and lightweight for its size. We know the F-Iron would work (see: southern airships), but the A-Pewter seems more possible to me now, as a way of making the sword more durable. Plus if you make the cutting edge out of allomantic-grade Steel, you can pack it full of Physical Speed with feruchemy to make it immune to Pushes and Pulls (and other Invested things that could break it).

I remember a theory that Yixli was some sort of Void-Honorspren (Odiumspren?) based on how she was somewhat of an opposite to Syl in visuals (whitish gold, odium's color instead of blue, Honor's color) and behaviors (lifting "pillars of translucent golden stone" from the ground to meet her to walk on instead of floating in the air, being short-tempered instead of caring). Heck, even her name sort of is, phonetically. Yixli ("yickslee" is roughly how i pronounce that in my head. it looks worse in text.) Xiiyl (something sort of like "seal" or "seeyl"?) I know this isn't truly "backwards Yixli" but rather an anagram of it, but still. Syl ("Sill", approximately)
-
Well, Windspren are much more physical than Cognitive by default (the Honorspren in Shadesmar are in awe of Kaladin attracting them in the CR), so it could be that Odium based those Voidspren's presence in the realms on the Windspren.

Why Radiants are incredibly overpowered, and Mistborn aren't.
Halyo_Alex replied to Frustration's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Yep. Shallan even remarks how Soulcaster fabrials aren't supposed to allow ranged Soulcasting. -
I worry that I can't be a good person. I've had plenty of arguments with close friends that boil over into actual anger and fighting... And it keeps happening occasionally, like a cycle.

Well, there you go.
