  1. I'm definitely speechless.
  2. That write up is hilarious. Definitely my favorite of the Vin write ups so far. It helps that they aren't making the assumption that atium lets you read minds.
  3. I would like to announce that my dad just got a new turntable. It's wonderful.
  4. If you want to assume that a Shard can't Splinter Shards from the same world, then Odium would have another way to keep anyone else from holding Honor. What do you think that might be? Unless you think that he found someone to hold Honor that he trusts, and just kills the holder off every time the Shard's nature took over and finds another replacement.
  5. Your name makes this Jekyll and Hyde fan very, very happy. Welcome!
  6. I thought the reason Preservation and Ruin couldn't defeat each other had to do with the nature of their shards. Ruin didn't want to die, and Preservation couldn't harm anything, even for the sake of preserving life. Going off what you said about the manipulation of the Shadesmar... do you think manipulating the Shadesmar could change the Physical Realm? Like, do they mirror each other, or does one mirror the other?
  7. So we know going to the Shadesmar in general is dangerous. Maybe something about the Shards keeps the Shadesmar under control enough so humans can enter it. Also, from the map in the back of Way of Kings, we see the Shadesmar seems to mirror the landscape. Maybe that has something to do with it? If the Dor comes through Elantris from the Shadesmar (just an assumption), then at the very least you wouldn't want to enter it anywhere near the city, and possibly not anywhere. Maybe I'm rambling nonsense. Or maybe killing Aona and Skai did something cognitively to the realm. Like, infinite dying screams or something like that. Dying screams that are deadly in some way.
  8. Harry Potter is the first fantasy that I read, but Chronicles of Narnia are what introduced me to it as a genre. Before that, I only read HP.
  9. I figured that the reason that cosmere isn't capitalized is because it's the same as universe. You don't capitalize universe.
  10. Gorammit, why does Joss Whedon hate romance so much?

  12. You know, I don't think we've had another magic system where you can instinctively sense other magic users in the cosmere. The closest is Seekers and Mistborn burning bronze. Was there any indication that use of Stormlight can be sensed? Or Breath? If not, I wonder why the Dor can be sensed that way.
  13. I definitely knew that. I just forgot. Odd that I always remember not to capitalize cosmere, but not lerasium. It would make much more sense for the cosmere to be capitalized that lerasium.
  14. Oh, and another thing. We don't know that Wyrn can see the future himself. He may not be the Splinter, but has access to something else that is one. Or maybe the Skaze can see the future. Just putting it out there, and sorry for the double post.
  15. Raoden felt Dilaf use the Dor, so the energy can't all come from their body. I think it's more that the Aons focus the Dor, and since the Dakhor can't use Aons, they have to use a sacrifice of some sort to focus it.
  16. I would like to announce that the one act I wrote for my class was chosen to be dramatically read before the class.
  17. Something I've been wondering about for a while with future Mistborn books... the old Lerasium Mistborn blood has been diluted by this point, right? It says in the synopsis that Allomancy is a big part of society, and yet without the Lerasium, it is extremely difficult to Snap people. Like, it requires the mists. Is Snapping gone now or something?
  18. I think we're at least like... 8 books away. Allow of Law, Memory of Light, 2 and 3 of Stormlight Archive, 2nd Elantris book, books 4 and 5 of Stormlight Archive, and then maybe Nightblood. If memory serves, that's his hopeful schedule for books up to and including Nightblood.
  19. Congratulations, Eer!
  20. "There's always another secret."

  21. So funny story about this. I read the first... 8 or so chapters online. It was about a week before my birthday, and I was telling my girlfriend about it, and then she said very quietly, "So um... do you think you could... stop reading it for now?" Yay for me spoiling her birthday present for me. But for the most part, I like it. I also do not particularly enjoy reading online, but I needed a book then, and I definitely did not have money. I was planning on buying it later, though. Why? The prologue of Way of Kings in the back of the book. And... because I wanted to have a full collection of cosmere books. Both reasons apply here.
  22. "You love someone, you open yourself up to suffering, that’s the sad truth. Maybe they’ll break your heart, maybe you’ll break their heart and never be able to look at yourself in the same way. Those are the risks. [You see two people and you think they belong together. But nothing happens. The thought of losing so much control over personal happiness is unbearable. That’s the burden. Like wings, they have weight. We feel that weight on our backs, but, they are a burden that lifts us. Bur...

  23. We forum grind and book grind (except we don't grind books) instead of level/EV grind! And yeah, when I play Pokemon, I really don't care enough to EV grind. The games never hold my interest long enough for it to really matter.
  24. "And crawling on the planet's face, some insects called the human race, lost in time and lost in space... and in meaning."

  25. You know, you'd think from their names that a Basic Lashing would be easier.
