Dalinar is the obvious answer. The OG title of WoR was highprince of war.
-
That seems really risky considering their importance and the fact that Navani is a civilian. That is a scary idea. Maybe. In that case he has some plan for getting out. Either a spare shard(more probably an honor)blade. Or some kind of unmade bond/power up.
-
Maybe. Maybe a squire will leave earlier. Maybe multiple Windrunners on site(I would not send just one. What if something happens to Kaladin?). I think this has all been preplaned and Kaladin his memorized what the different people are going to be doing.
-
Not really. Just that Lift and Navani will be in the same place in the immediate future. If something happens to Kaladin he probably wants to insure that Navani still gets it. Or that the two groups have been in communication(I think by secret spanreed).
-
When? I doubt Sadeas would have left a complete nobody in charge.
-
Yeah...
-
Agreed. I don't think Amaram ever got a formal promotion in rank although he might have gained more respect.
-
Dalinar tells Kaladin that the proper address for him to use is Brightlord. Given that Amaram was Sadeas's top general I think assuming he was third Dahn would make sense although I do agree if their was an unmarried highprince son of the proper age they might have made a better match(however doing so would probably weaken succession order if something happened to Elhokar).

Theory on Fabrials and the War (SDCC Reading)
Karger replied to kuiinteth of isaana's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I am surprised they tipped their hand so early. Maybe they were not sure it would work and wanted to field test? Also maybe since the radiants have no idea how to get voidlight it will just run out giving them a worthless gemstone and some metal? -
It would be work. However if it was good enough I would certainly read it. It also depends how many of those PoVs are main PoVs. I would also expect the book to be long enough to accommodate them.
-
They lost that one.

I don't think he was simply a "bad guy" all along. I think that he had a few nastier qualities that he hid either under his charisma or because he knew they would be a liability politically. His sudden change was likely less sudden then we think. It probably started because of the Stormfather's visions. I think this one is much more likely. I think they key difference here is that Adolin knows how hard it is for Shallan to be honest not just with him but with herself. Also as of OB she is clearly trying to be more open with him. I agree with all your other points although technically she and Amaram are both of the third Dahn. This makes their relationship plausible if not ideal.

Postmortal consequences of hemalurgy with respect to a emotional Allomancy
Karger replied to Oltux72's question in Cosmere Q&A
The point of a CS is that your soul is not the original. It is made from investiture that was used to copy your mind. -
I couldn't stand the series. I am sorry. I will try to be concise and rational in my explanation of why and not hate on those who do. This was for four main reasons. 1. It makes no sense to define people by one arbitrary characteristic. 2. Their names are wrong(Abnegation does not mean selfless it means a denial of self. A philosophy of self improvement based on avoiding indulgence. Erudite generally means studious not smart.) C. This is the one that really gets me a lot of the factions don't make much sense. A dauntless person without compassion or honesty is really just a psychopath. Why maintain them? What does telling the truth matter if you don't really know anything important. As to Amity. Well meaning idiots have probably done as much harm as actually evil people. 3. The Erudites are evil. Intellectuals being villains is a pet peeve of mine. 4. The lead characters(especially Four irk me). I don't want to go into detail here I have added enough negativity as is but I find him boring and kind of pointless. Beatrice seems like just another Mary Sue. YA that I do like. Brandon's Starsite and Reckoners(duh). I found Mortal Instruments surprisingly readable given the genera. Young Wizards is a personal favorite. Also I grew up on Tamora Peirce and still remember her work well.

Welcome! *Taps wrists*

We have information indicating that most of them will start together before splitting off.

Maybe but it would mess with the pacing a lot to make Syl discuss as new something that happened several hundred pages earlier.

Either that or some function of Adhesion, the surge of vacuum and pressure.

I think you are on to something. Navani and Gavilar are not really living in the same world anymore. Back when they had a shared interest in uniting the kingdom they were allies/companions. As such they had a degree of respect if not equality/love. Gavilar is now playing a new game and probably sees Navani as part of the old one. As a king he might or might not be remembered depending on how is nation does after his death. No matter how good a job he does if things he can't control or did not account for happen when he dies then what he wants(being a great man of history) will not happen. As a person who changed the course of human history he will almost certainly be remembered. I do also think some misogyny is involved however. The name the Sons of Honor chose. The fact that their ranks seem to include very few women and Amaram's attitudes all strongly point in that direction. Amaram is a member of the Sons of Honor. Interestingly Elhokar's wife probably was as well. I think he was a little worried about her(by worried I mean afraid of) and wanted to marry her off to his pet sycophant(someone he could control) as a way of both keeping an eye on her and controlling her. Also he may have promised her to Amaram as a way of securing his loyalty. As far as illegitimate Kholin theories go this one makes much more sense but stongly doubt it. Firstly I don't think anyone alive would know that he was not legitimate. Secondly Gavinor was born while Elhokar was at war. He made several trips back to Kholinar. If the times did not match up exactly Elhokar and everyone else would know so she would have to have had him with a lover at a very specific time probably with someone unimportant considering anyone who was anyone was with the war effort. Lastly everyone who conceivably would know is dead.

I don't think we have enough single heroes. This is a much bigger problem with female characters but still.

Important characters who are not noticed
Karger replied to Adolinalsium's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I mean Hoid is the obvious one but we all notice him. He is not always subtle. Felt is a good one. An important worldhopper from scadrial who shows up during OB. All of the rosharan sleepless. The guys from the 17th shard in WoKs interlude. Those are the ones I usually think of. -
City.

No. The Inkspren have taken an antihuman hard line.
