  1. We have a WoB that says that is it possible for one shard to have multiple perpendicularities.
  2. Kel could have cheated or bargained his way there.
  3. I think that Kel just got together a bunch of Investiture and crafted a body for himself that way.
  4. Try Jasnah (I actually love her) but her recourse to assassins, poor leadership, and lack of empathy make a good start.
  5. Welcome! What Sanderson have you read?
  6. If you have a set of specific questions then posting them here will get you answers in a few hours. The coppermind is also a great source for this. Rereads and annotations are both good as they explain how things are put together and many of Brandon Sanderson's best fans work on them. Also double cheack and make sure you have read everything Cosmere did not come togeather for me until I had read the Arcanum Unbound short stories collection. If you want a cosmere history crash course just say so and plenty of people will be happy to help.
  7. Ardents are not permitted to serve in any military or government capacity although those rules are somewhat bent sometimes. Ardents are also in charge of helping individuals achieve their calling and so they act as educators so that citizens can exercise their divine right to learn and improve themselves. Because many Alethi train for war many Ardents serve as coaches or trainers although they are neutral in military conflicts.
  8. Shadesmar is the cognitive realm it is the dimension of thought. How things see themselves and how they are seen by others. You are also confusing Wheel of time with Cosmere they are vary different universes.
  9. In other words a fully realized lightweaver of the 5th ideal would have to be aware of their failings as a sibling, parent, child, friend, radiant, spouse, etc and be OK WITH IT!!! Or at least manage to deal with it without lying to themselves or avoiding thinking about it. Does anyone on this form think that they are realy capable of this?
  10. Only Amaram knows and he was told by Odium I doubt that their leadership knows or has reacted. We don't know much about the Set, the sleepless or the ghostbloods. Silverlight and the Ire are both primarily research institutions and we have a Wob that compares the 17th shard to starfleet.
  11. According to the religion that Sazed preaches Trell was associated with stars his many eyes. If Trell is Autonomy then Hoid has a grudge against her much the way he has one with Odium
  12. Proof: no one an Roshar thinks of chickens as birds capable of flight Theory: Lift is actually a splinter of Cultivation.
  13. I think that each radiant's oaths have something to do with the way that certain radiants avoid the tough parts of their lives. Lightweavers as liars risk loosing their ability to be honest with themselves. Windrunners can loose perspective and respect for their power and how it should be used. Edgedancers risk forgetting about individuals who do not share their advantages. Bondsmiths have a hard time recognizing and dealing with their errors. Shallahn's oaths may not seem restrictive but as an individual whose main coping mechanism is escapism admitting my own limitations and fears is incredibly difficult.
  14. I believe she mentions the pain of "an ideal spoken but not overcome" in reference to this ideal.
  15. Her real problem is actually that stopping a nuke might expose her to an attack by Odium.
  16. I am pretty sure she can being a god and all but whatever. Actually I think that watching from the cognitive realm would be interesting as the lights of life would go instantly but the objects and landscape would remain the same until they forgot who they used to be. I wonder if in the future people will use the cognitive realm for archaeology as items with a strong presences in the minds of the individuals would stay themselves for a time.
  17. The sibling could be the 4th ones cognitive shadow. Also Hoid takes great pains to interfere only in limited ways so I don't think he would want to handle something as sensitive as the identity of the next Bondsmith.
  18. Stick am I/ Phase is holy/ to say phase holy / Holy is phase/ I am Stick
  19. What about a shard of fear?
  20. As of when? We also have a death rattle that says "Three of the 16 ruled but now the broken one reigns" Which implies that at some point 3 shards were cooperating on Roshar Something I do not see Odium doing.
  21. The real question is what antidepressants and other mind affecting substances do to a person's cognitive and physical selves.
  22. Kaladin may not recognize his depression as an illness but he almost certainly identifies himself with the feelings we call depression.
  23. Somewhat although I think that she wheres that for a different reason(secret identity and she is not human). Also what is your theory?
  24. I think Jasnah would appreciate some socks instead of all the books she normally gets.
