  1. or possible attuning the way humans will remember a fond memory in order to get through a difficult time.
  2. Because the humans were terrified as their servants stole their stuff. Imagine how modern humans would react if computers rebelled against their ancient enslavement by the evil technologists and rose up stealing power plants.
  3. Then why risk sending her to the bottom of the ocean? The whole assassination of Jasnah on the ship stops making sense. I don't think that the ghostbloods tried to do that Taravangian takes credit for the attempt.
  4. Nale is the Herald of justice he scrupulously follows all laws regardless of how silly. Theft is not his MO and how and why did he steel Nightblood?
  5. I have a hard time believing that Heralan's antipathy toward his father was faked. This implies that he would never be working with his father meaning they were not on the same side. We have fairly good evidence that Lin was a ghostblood. Shallan does notice an increase in his competence during the later years of his life so it is not improbable that he attracted their attention either through skill, his position as a nobleman or because he was somehow bonded to an Unmade(that is my theory). As to the ghostbloods setting up Heralan to be killed by Kaladin. The entire idea is impractical. Kaladin barley manages it and what if Heralan does not approach from Kaladin's side of the battle? Also don't they have tones of competent assassins at their disposal? Also how do the ghostbloods know that Kaladin has bonded a spren? He has not yet sworn any ideals.
  6. I believe we have a WoB that says that their is usually no connection between the type of mistling and their parents. Your bloodline either has it or does not.
  7. My point is that their names do have a degree of logic to them.
  8. But we do know that Parshendi have a ritual first form day when they gain their first form.
  9. Alternate names Ash is a sign of destruction but also rebirth perhaps rejuvenationspren? Perhaps Lightspren bring some kind of enlightenment? I think newspren would be a good alternate name. Cultivationspren are about helping others grow that is actually pretty strait forward. Inkspren in our world would probably be called Dataspren but because Rosharans store all of their information on paper... This is my interpretation.
  10. Dalinar decides to write a (biography? philosophy?) that he entitles Oathbringer. Passages are quoted throughout the book. I imagine that this work will be finished by book 4 and we will get to see its impact.
  11. No such inspiration is mentioned in the annotations.
  12. He considers the morality of his own actions but the actual reasons as to why he is doing them seem pretty irrelevant to him. As long as he is doing something that can be considered good or at least neutral it does not matter what he feels personally.
  13. He is a storyteller who collects different kinds of investiture.
  14. Interesting theory. Shards do have physical bodies and the two of them are confirmed as a couple. A child of the two of them would be immensely invested.
  15. I don't think the Diagram has large numbers of dead blades around. Also why would they try and kill Amaram? They have shown no hostility toward the Sons of Honor even if they do know that they exist which is unclear.
  16. Illusions are crafted using imaginary numbers.
  17. I am going to say no as Eshonai resisted and perhaps even sabotaged Odium's plans.
  18. Is it unreasonable to believe that natural economic factors will cause the metallic arts to breed themselves heavily into the population over time? People with metallic arts or more economically successful then their artless counterparts and as such will be able to live longer and have more children.
  19. This is also why humans remember songs better then spoken words.
  20. Can someone translate that title please.
  21. Odium can kill Cultivation she is in hiding for a reason. A direct clash between the forces of hatread and the forces of growth hatread will win. I personally think that growth is stronger but in a fight it is of limited use. I am not sure that we want the fight to occur. Considering the forces that Odium can bring to bear the odds are going to be against almost any individual who chooses to fight Odium's champion(Remember Kaladin's fight with Amaram). So Odium might just keep this option in reserve in case Dalinar's team look like they are wining. This is of course unless Dalinar is already appointed as Odium's champion in which case he will simply throw the mach so that humans win.
  22. What would an anti-Hoid do? Hoid is an observer he changes almost exclusively by observing.
  23. They latter use gemstones to get the right one by imprisoning the correct spren ahead of time
  24. I liked the rumored Rhythm of War Title.
  25. Perhaps your concentration the more you do it the harder it is to concentrate and eventual you can't focus anymore.
