Sure but not everyone can get away with mutilating people.

Why spike anybody? Buying breath would be faster.

powers and limitations of an elantrian
Karger replied to king of nowhere's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
Defeating Elantris is easy if you have good lintel. Send in a small team and have them detonate an explosive that damages one of the giant Aon's that makes the city. After that all of them will be at minimal power. -
So one thing about Nightblood that has always intrigued me is his name. Night blood. A compound name like a returned. His maker Shashara almost certainly new about this convention and I believe we have a WoB that Ruin was involved in his creation. We know that it is possible to spike a breath out of someone via hemalurgy(Ruin's magic system). What if Shashara found a returned and spiked out his divine breath? She then used this breath to awaken Nightblood. This would explain how he became so powerful and possibly his intelligence.

Skyward Seattle signing (Nov. 10, 2018) #1 Share Copy Play/Pause Hoiditthroughthegrapevine The magical fish in the Purelake, is their magic part of the Old Magic paradigm? Brandon Sanderson The magical fish are not of Honor. Not of Honor not in a bad way, but there's something else going on there. To me "Not of Honor" but also not in a bad way. Says Cultivation. Cultivation's magic system is old magic. This is subjective but my it is my head cannon. BTW how do you move WoBs?

The economics of Aviars and conclusions drawn from that
Karger replied to Oltux72's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Generally speaking in the Cosmere reading minds requires gaps in your soul(like those caused by hemolurgy). Perhaps there is an Aviar that allows life sense or that can effect emotions. Generally speaking those are much easier and would also be fooled by a coppercloudlike effect. -

I believe a WoB states that those fish are part of the Old Magic.

Alternatively. Pre apocalypse Ashyn had some knowledge of median(even extremely basic like "the air around sick people makes you sick") and used this to figure out how to levitate the cities in the intervening years before the complete destruction of the ecosphere. These small groups of survivors could lean over time and eventually become more proficient with the magic that kept them alive. Also arguing about stuff that has not been canonized is not likely to be productive. I am happy to anyway.

Yes it has been a while but I believe the topic was discussed.

Are humans really the voidbringers ?
Karger replied to OneArmHerdazion's topic in Stormlight Archive
Honor told them that they would destroy Roshar the way they destroyed their old planet Ashyn. This may or may not have been true as he was dying at the time and more then a little crazy. The Dawnsingers probably went to Odium because he offered them a way to kill humans. The humans most likely turned to Honor because he claimed that he could stop the violence or protect them. This is my interpretation anyway. -

Sure it is possible to use hatred effectively and for a good cause but without anything else you will eventually turn into the Darth Maul of shards.

Will do

I do wonder what Ishar's blade does though. The bondsmith powers that come from there respective spren are amazingly powerful but the surges of tension and adhesion are fairly limited without all of the wired spiritual stuff.

Their dreams and impression often do reveal a bit about the future. Lightsong's dreams of war for example were a result of various political intrigues happening at court at the time which made war more likely. Future sight often has a stigma attached to it because of the temptation involved. The future difficult to predict and it is extremely hard even for a shard to gain any real information from it.
-
That being said. I have difficulty believing that Odium the shard could be held by anyone for long without bad things happening.

Agreement is expressed for the sentiment but Son of Honor refers to the organization on Roshar which I believe does include some women who are also called Sons.
