Discovering Dustbringer ideals via Spensa(Starsight Spoilers!)
Karger replied to Karger's topic in Stormlight Archive
But she is not obedient to anyone. In fact she is perfectly willing to go her own way. At the beginning of Starsight she only questions her judgement when leaving not her authority or the necessity of carrying out her mission without any orders. So no she is loyal to a verity of peoples but obedient she is not. Jasnah is not a leader(in terms of temperament) she is a strategist They may be specialized but that does not make it true that all members of one order have the same specialty. Their specialization comes from ideology and temperament not profession or tactical approach. -
Why? And I disagreed at length. Or an acquired lifeless or a really good forgery of a corpse via bloodsealing or just an elantrian with the right Aon or a really well done fabrail...

Skybreaker oaths (explained via Lady Justice)
Karger replied to Karger's topic in Stormlight Archive
All of this is true but I don't think that anyone can really administer what you call "true justice" on anything other then an individual scale. To institute Justice on a wide scale you need to have some kind of orderly process. Paradoxically if you were to try and run a society by Windrunner ideals you would get into trouble as Windrunners would be unable to administer punishments that stop abuses of power and their rulings would be wildly inconsistent. -
Marasi is young so aging slower is not really a comfort to her. Additionally she was trained by her father to treat her abilities as useless as it embarrassed him that she would be a better mach then his legitimate daughter. Finally someone with her I want to do things take charge attitude does not spend much time waiting around. I agree that Cadmium is often useful but Marasi does not see things that way.

The Rise of Skywalker SPOILER EDITION

OK sure it served as inspiration. I don't know what JJ looked to but from what I can tell it reminds me of the popular uprisings of eastern Europe during the end of the cold war. -
Discovering Dustbringer ideals via Spensa(Starsight Spoilers!)

I suppose. Give me a few hours. Also any preferences as to witch I should do first? She does clearly respect Brade and Brade's own loyalties. However she has a job to do based on the people that she swore to fight for and in that moment she is fighting for everyone. That is because a leader's most fundamental job is to protect those who he rules. Humans figured this out in the feudal system. That seems kind of ridiculous actually(no offense is intended but think about it). A warrior must be flexible in his approach to combat he fights where he is needed. Also we have seen Stonewards come out of the walls and go to the aid of villagers in Dalinar's vissions -
I think it might just seem significant for someone like Shallan to undergo what is to her indecent exposure out of battlefield necessity.

Jasnah does and I think he relies on her for that kind of thing. Agreed. We also know that they are a worldhopping organization so it is doubtful that their headquarters is located on Roshar at all. I agree she might rise in their orginizaton but I also kind of want her to destroy it(or at least the local branch of it) Cool!

Sips coco and eagerly watches as for the next tweet.

The real question is why did the mice decide have Brandon write a fantasy novel?

It is a medium hard PG book.

Ren when they fight the midnight mother is wearing his plate. The only difference is that he has to take it off to heal people because it is not his plate.

That is a Windrunner. However it is an interesting point. -
The Rise of Skywalker SPOILER EDITION

You must be one of the only fans asking for my advertising in your movies. As to the DNA of star wars. A farm boy working hard to do the right thing is the DNA of star wars. Having new ships is not. That is you reading things in. A causal view could still say no politics and be correct. This I somewhat agree with but TLJ was so bad I kind of am glad they decided to get rid of it. I would have preferred a total remake of both movies but if that has to wait so be it. I like that. I want star wars to be star wars. Has worked hard on Mandolorian. By rating the best TV show ever in star wars. George produced the prequels. Why does this matter? -
They were not. As far as we know all of the shards were of the 3 species of Yolen. Human, Dragon or Sho Del. Yeah and that Ambition was Sho Del.

Plate is "less dead" as you put it.

The horneaters might disagree. They call inanimate objects by gendered pronouns for a reason.

Nicki's story in the broadsheats when she is fighting Nahz.

The progress is not quite instantaneous so you would probably get a mixed reading that approaches the new one.

He does. Remember the coachmen who traveled with Wit and Taln? Also employing spies is a women thing(intelligence gathering usually requires someone writing reports). Shallan is good. I have no idea if she is that good. Also we have no idea how promotion works in their organization.

The fire is also not fire. It does not consume fuel and it can be moved as we see in Mistborn Secret History. We still have no indication of different physics.

The Rise of Skywalker SPOILER EDITION
Karger replied to Truthless of Shinovar's topic in Entertainment Discussion
We got Ren's new class of TIE and some awesome call outs to older ships but honestly I don't know why you want Disney to work so hard to sell more toys. It was unique to George's Star Wars. After the prequels I well... Anyway as far as it goes from a director's stand point I do not really think they are objectively a good choice stylistically. This I almost entirely agree with. Luke walking out and afterward no one dies except Luke. I think to myself. Why could we have not gotten THIS Luke a good hour ago. This guy is Boss! The original series contained no politics. Most people think this is where Star Wars was at its best. So they get an A for effort? I agree that what they were trying to do might have been interesting but when it comes to a movie I have payed to watch I have to set a higher bar. TLJ did not deliver the product I payed for(emotion). The fact that they tried to do so really does not help much. I still do not get why Lucas gets to decide what is and is not Star Wars. Star Wars belongs to the fans not the man who created the first movies and especially not to the man who created the prequels. His vision does not really matter to me if it is one I do not connect with. I do not give him credit for the awesomeness that is Clone Wars Animated Series. This is an excellent example of something that fell flat. Luke's cave adventure makes sense. It can be interpreted and the force trying to tell him about Vader as an indication that he is really fighting himself not an external threat or that his fear and anger are ultimately self defeating. On the other hand Rey's experiences don't inform the viewer, the plot, or even Rey's own character development. -
OK. The strange "sun" of shadesmar does not produce anything with the same properties as light.

Fortune is not like luck. In fact using it might make it easier for our team to win as everything in the SR notices and some may object to such a use of it.
