  1. Either that or it is another version of shapeshifter/illusion that we have not seen yet.
  2. Scheduled for execution in any decent society? In desperate need of professional help? Yeah those are both more then 1 word.
  3. You were correct. I was wrong.
  4. They do work for outsiders or at least with them.
  5. If that were the case staying out in the mists long enough would make everyone a mistborn. Saze would probably not walk to make any as that would unbalance him farther. Lerasium seems like brazing where as normal snapping is like hooking in the power. I don't think it makes sense for Saze to braze on the power to each allomancer manually if my solution is possible.
  6. Welcome! What Sanderson have you read? Also what are some of your favorites(characters, magic, systems...)?
  7. If he could do literally anything he wanted in regards to the three metallic arts then he probably would have made some significant hemalurgy alterations considering his disapproval of it. OK. How do they do that considering mist sickness is not a thing(I am pretty sure)?
  8. "I was bonded before and this never happened" is pretty clearly a reference to Dalinar's opening of the perpendicularity. Jasnah is the obvious one as far as the fandom is concerned. She seems to have thrown some soldiers and then dismissed her plate.
  9. Don't think so. Remember how Kaladin summons a lot of power when he speaks ideals? Dalinar summons a lot more which is why he had enough power to open a perpendicularity. However I do not think he can do that whenever he wants to. Yes Odium's forces hold the major perpendicularity but remember shadesmar is inhabited and hostile to his forces.
  10. Welcome!
  11. Exactly so he must have done something. Alomancy requires cracked souls. The other powers might be a toss up but that has always been made clear. OK. So how do you think he is going to explain the removal of this particular plot device. He has had years to think about it.
  12. The often sighted quote by anti homosexual preachers is Leviticus 18:22. "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination." HOWEVER. A friend of mine who was both gay and a biblical scholar double checked the Hebrew word translated as "to lie with" and discovered that it was only used to describe illicit or unhealthy relationships so it actually might have been a mistranslation with the bible actually saying something more along the lines of "also don't have illicit relationships with other men/women those are wrong as well."
  13. MMMMMM. These sunglasses alter the physical appearance by refracting and preventing some of the light. However by compensating any scene viewed through them is clearly the same without them. However humans where them specifically to prevent a truth that injures them.
  14. I don't think Sazed would be comfortable doing something that could potentially kill children to give them powers they don't really need. They are but snapping is necessary relmatically not just for plot reasons. Even if that is true Brandon would still find a way to make it make sense. He is basically famous for that.
  15. Sure and vice versa but the actual worth of gold varied greatly depending on who had reserves of it. This was actually an underlying weakness of the gold standard as after the first world war the US had about half of all gold reserves and a bunch of nations wanted to leave the gold standard thus making gold less valuable. Untrue. Commodity prices stayed relatively fixed throughout Tudor England for a good couple centuries. The only fluctuations were in grain markets Which makes sense. Roshar has been more or less always at war since the humans showed up there. Roshar is a fecund and heavily wooded landmass. I don't think wood is going to be particularly expensive for the wage earners who buy glass. Also because of soulcasting. The larger the gem the less likely it is to break. It would be more accurate to say that when people soulcast gems get broken. Actually this is no different from government issued bills. Roshar is constantly wet. Torching things may not be practical. Also using a soulcaster grants a larger degree of control on the speed and shape of the fire..
  16. Welcome! Online libraries will generally have it.
  17. Wait what? Did anyone else get a picture of Pattern on a beach with sunglasses?
  18. Yes. I read the comics as well.
  19. If that were the case many children might still die regularly by going out into the mists.
  20. I don't thinks so. Remember (Scadrail spoiler)
  21. I am hopping that that Nalthis plot gets concluded there with Vasher, Azur, Nightblood, all finally hashing things out.
  22. He actually swore the second ideal some time ago. We learn this during his interlude.
  23. Hm. Wonder what that might look like?
  24. Apparently. He swore the second ideal right at the end when talking to a man who was now missing an arm.
  25. Cryptics. Pattern for the Win! No Mating!
