    “Oh, ok.” He wasn’t yelling anymore, that was good. She didn’t understand what he was talking about, but it still made sense. It felt like information was leaking out through holes in her brain.

    Jenny looked back at the guy, her eyes wide. People talked loudly when they were upset with someone. ”It’s just a pinball machine, please don’t yell at me!” She didn’t like how familiar the shouting felt. She backed away a few steps. Maybe this guy wasn’t actually nice.

    “Hmm?” Why did this really familiar guy know her name? He seemed trustworthy, so she walked back over. She’d been standing with him for a reason, although she couldn’t remember it. It would be mean to ditch him. ”That pinball machine looks really cool…” Jenny sadly glanced over her shoulder at the game.

    Out of the corner of her eye, Jenny noticed another game with flashy lights. A pinball machine. It looked really fun. She began to wander off in its direction, slowly forgetting about finding her friends. To her perception, Kasa and Jace became two strangers arguing. @Part Of The Narrative

    “I’m not really sure, but Jack thinks we do. He seems pretty trustworthy.” Jenny smiled brightly. ”Apparently, we’re on a quest to save the world! Oh, and my name’s Jenny.” She looked at the dart board, admiring Kasa’s aim. Maybe she used darts for fighting.

    Yep. I think the occasional bad guy will have physically adjusted limits, and there's going to be a significant plot point surrounding self metaphorical limit-changing. Do you need to have the coin under your tongue the whole time you are using it? If so, can you take it out early to avoid going over the time limit? Is there a cool down time? Moon-based.

    Luminescence has reasons for its existence in the first place, but those are secret The primary, most common usage of limit changing with it would be altering the nutrient requirements/temperature and weather resistances of crops since that is a pretty direct transfer of life force that doesn't stray too much from Luminescence's default function, although it would be used only when strictly necessary because it's not a very efficient method. You can change the limits of yourself, but that is unpredictable and will probably cause serious side effects. It's dangerous enough that it's illegal. As an example, a man tried to metaphorically raise what he could "see", but it made him go insane because he couldn't process everything that he "saw". If you're talented and careful enough, though, you might have some success, particularly with intellectual limit changing. I'd like to see the coin magic system.

    Sounds interesting! Is it the sort of thing where someone can accidentally cause some significant effect or is it a very deliberate sort of system? Does more specific wording/multiple words combined help or dilute what you are trying to do? (I can quit pestering you with questions of you’d like ) (Also, y’all please ask any questions you have about my magic system if you come up with any. Having other people ask about its specifics is really helpful for me to flesh it out.)

    Would you be able to change parts of your own identity with the magic writing? Also, if you are blanked completely, would forming a completely new personality be possible or are you blank forever?

    That’s interesting. Is it possible for a new magical bloodline/lich to be created? Depending on the lifespan of liches/if they can be completely immortal, you might wind up with powerscaling issues if their descendants all eventually cross the same bloodlines or if they wind up having an exponentially large amount of descendants and become unkillable. Also, to clarify, do the non-liches in the bloodlines get powers? That sounds cool. What are the consequences of losing soul bits?

    Do you mean something like powers only attainable through your genetics or something individual to each different family?

    There isn’t much of a difference, although it would be a bit more predictable and probably more ethical. The length of time the limit stays changed would depend on what is being changed and how much Luminescence is available. Making a permanent limit change is very expensive due to the skill necessary. As an example, someone could kill a plant and use that to completely lower the noise limit in an area. For a few seconds/minutes, they could make an area silent. If they raised the bottom limit, only loud noises could be heard (someone would need to yell to talk, but it would still sound just as loud). That would be either a strong physical change or lower metaphorical change, but if you are unskilled in metaphorical changes doing it that way could cause it to mess with any definition of “noise”.

    Jenny looked to where Jack pointed and saw a girl throwing darts. It sounded like she was supposed to know who Kasa was, so she waved at her. Hopefully Kasa was nice too. @Part Of The Narrative
