  1. “You have the his power now. You can create whatever world you want.” The boy wiped his eyes. “Could you... bring my mother back?”
  2. The boy held out the amulet to Gerald. “Take it. Please. Far away from here.” “His power was in the amulet. He... took my parents away.”
  3. The boy pointed off the edge of the tower. The magician’s broken body lay at the bottom. “I took his power away,” the boy sobbed, holding up the amulet.
  4. The child turned. Tears rolled down the boy’s face. He clutched an amulet in his fist, and it glowed with an ethereal light. ”He’s... gone.”
  5. A small child looked over the edge of the tower, hair fluttering in the wind.
  6. Jaywalk gazed at the flickering fire in a trance. He basked in its warmth, letting the heat wash over his body. The flames were rather beautiful, really. The deep purple amethyst on his ring appeared magenta in the face of the fire's red tendrils, and his Voidveins pulsed softly at the light. So many times, he'd sat alone by a fire, curled up next to it as he tried to drift to sleep--he rarely did. He smiled at the chatter across the room. He often found it hard to feel like a part of the group, but still, he wasn't alone this time. No longer chilled to the bone, he unwrapped his scarf and laid it on the arm of the chair. I'll be back, I'm sure, he thought. Then he slipped off his coat and conjured a snowball. "Snowy combat, you say?" He chucked the snowball at Granite's face.
  7. Wow, this book hit me hard. I loved Kaladin’s arc, and I was sobbing at the Tien scene. Shallan and Adolin’s plotline was probably the one I most enjoyed reading, though it was smaller, and the payoff of “We CHOSE” was absolutely incredible. (In fact, Adolin might be my favorite character.) I also loved the smaller PoVs from Dalinar, Jasnah, and Renarin, all of which I loved. I did feel very fatigued at times by the main plotline, until the end, when I got the payoff. Navani’s plotline dragged for a while, but I loved Raboniel and her interactions with the Sibling, and the anti-Investiture payoff was huge. I liked Venli’s arc, subtle as it was, and the moment at the end with Leshwi was one I really loved. And of course, Kaladin’s arc wrecked me. Other mind-blowing things: -Taravangian’s ascent to Odium -Ishar’s experiments -Thaidakar may be Kelsier (I actually kind of hate this but whatever) -Shallan killed her first spren (Very well-foreshadowed, great payoff) -ALLLLL the Book 5 setup -Szeth going crazy against Ishar -So, so many things Overall, I think this is my favorite Stormlight book.
  8. I’m an Enneagram Four. (Look it up if you don’t know what it is.)
  9. Hey, Falchion! Just wanted to say, it’s always a joy to read one of your posts. I’m consistently impressed by how much thought you put into them! Keep up the good work!

  10. Happy birthday to my favorite Three Houses girl!
  11. I have a hard time deciding between Mistborn and Stormlight, because I love both dearly. In both, I love the characters. I love the world, I love the magic, and both have stories that deeply affected me. It’s impossible to choose.
  12. “Hm, yes. Fascinating.” He gulped. “A little intimidating too.”
  13. “Did I say puppet master? I meant, uh... puppeteer!” The magician raised his hands, and a third porpoise appeared, joining the other two in a improvised dance. He handed the supposed Dark Lord a laminated copy. “Here you go, narrate it as you will.” “But surely you wouldn’t want to leave this world, would you?”
  14. “Do... you have to? Admittedly, it’s been years since I created the prophecy, I can’t remember all the details...”
  15. “Antagonist? That’s a strong word for it,” Mavilon said. “Call me a puppet master, who surely has your best interest at heart.” Another porpoise materialized, plopping on the ground. “Well then,” the magician said. “That was unexpected.”
  16. The magician snapped his fingers, and a porpoise appeared.
  17. “You’re all here for a purpose. Though I didn’t expect you to show up on in my house.”
  18. Suddenly the magician walked in. “Proxy, I’m finding it difficult to— WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE”
