  1. “Order a hit on a rival? I’ll provide my services... for a price.”
  2. Kelsier and Jasnah mourned the loss of their adopted daughter as well.
  3. Database? the voice in Max’s head said. This is useful information... “Where is this database?” Max asked, eyeing Sophie carefully. The girl asked far too many questions that he desperately wished he could answer. The force holding him pushed that wish down, replacing it with feelings of fear and skepticism.
  4. “Until you guys showed up... not really.” Max scratched his head. “Mind filling me in? Or... getting us out of this wasteland?”
  5. Unfortunately for the muffin and the ant, their particles coming into contact caused a cataclysmic event.
  6. "Yeah," Max said. "Good to meet you too." "I remember..." The Cognitive Realm, he thought. I remember being taken away. But the force constrained him. "I don't remember anything."
  7. I'm rather intrigued by the High Republic. It's nice to see Star Wars in the Disney era trying something new--that isn't just incorporating everything into live-action tv shows. I think I might pick up the first book, if only to watch the property I love so much grow in a new direction. I also have to say, I'm glad they actually had a plan for this series, unlike the sequel trilogy.
  8. “Good question,” Max said, folding his arms. “I’m, ah, afraid I don’t know how to answer it.” Take care in your response, the voice said again. Or I will intervene. ”Uh... there was... miscommunication. I’m sure of it. I’m fine, see? Just look at me!” Panic rose in Max’s chest. “Oh, there’s no need for that. Here, let’s all go somewhere else, somewhere nicer than this place.” As Dad would say, he thought, there’s always another secret. Your secrets are ones still brewing, the voice said, sending chills down Max’s spine. Their revelations shall come with time.
  9. “Who would I be to turn down a hug?” Max said. He hadn’t had one since... before he’d left his parents. Jay, his mentor, had never expressed affection in such a way.
  10. “I... don’t know,” Max said. In truth, he did know, but a ghostly force held his tongue. He grinned back at Granite. “It’s been a while, hasn’t it? Not since Jay was training us.” Watch your words, a voice said in his mind. We must step carefully in this realm, lest they find out... and kill you all over again.
  11. I might be disappointed, but I doubt it would turn me off Sanderson completely. I highly doubt it’ll be a bad book. That said, I think we’re in for an emotional ride in Book 5. I think many people will lose their favorite character—Kaladin and Dalinar are both very likely to die, IMO. It’s gonna be a heavy book, which might turn some people off (not me though). Whatever happens, I eagerly await the fruits of Brandon’s labors.
  12. Benjamin Francis Leftwich’s Into The Rain album.
  13. I’ll join in on this! Best songs I discovered this year (which may or may not have come out this year): And the best artists I discovered this year(defined as if I’ve delved into their music or not):
