  1. Pine and Apple was a forbidden marriage, seen as dishonorable by Voidapple shippers.
  2. There was a feast of roasted pineapple. Voidus despaired. Seriously, that stuff is good.
  3. Sigh. Just, life. My church ward split today, separating me from all of my friends there, including one of my best friends that I really only see at church. I only cried for 10 minutes, surprisingly. There’s a lot of other stuff too, but most of it I don’t feel comfortable sharing, and I’m not confident that most people on here would understand it.
  4. All hail Sanderson's Laws of Magic. Especially: Always err on the side of Awesome.
  5. Sounds cool! I'm creating a fantasy world that I plan to set a lot of stories in, with one I'm writing right now. It's sort of inspired by the Cosmere, in terms of having an overarching story that spans multiple series, but other than that it's pretty different. I have my magic system, as well as a few different conflicts that I can carry from the beginning to the end. True, but there's still some very enjoyable stuff! I recommend the Longest Thread, for one.
  6. All of these are so me
  7. Just started the Valkyria Chronicles remaster! IT'S AMAZING!
  8. Welcome, welcome! I'm also a Writing Excuses fan. Do you have any writing projects in particular you're working on? Also, try to stay away from the subforums for books you haven't read yet. It's a great way to get spoiled.
  9. The king of the ghanderflaffles was named Butterflutter the Third. His lifelong goal was to break the 365th wall.
  10. I can respect all those answers.
  11. I’m the same way. Most middle-grade books just don’t do it for me anymore. I can’t really see Galloran hijacking the leopard; he’d probably just dispatch it with a Torivor blade. Patton, on the other hand...that’s totally something he would do.
  12. I can’t resist answering this, though it may be Rebecca’s AMA. I love Brandon Mull! Fablehaven is better; Beyonders was actually his first series, but it wasn’t published until Fablehaven was successful. And Patton would win.
  13. It makes sense, in a way, but I don’t remember Horneaters having the carapace-growing abilities that the singers did. There was one instance in the Era 2 broadsheets about a visitor from another world, with a picture resembling a Shardpool. I heard a theory about the visitor being a singer. It could make sense, depending on the time gap between Stormlight 5 and Mistborn Era 2, that singers could be worldhopping to Scadrial and had enough time for interbreeding for the mask melding to surface by the point where we meet them in BoM. This wouldn’t explain Iyatil, however. As far as I know, we haven’t seen any singer worldhoppers on screen. We simply don’t have enough information. They could have come through during Era 1 or before, or between the gap between Era 1 and Stormlight. That is, if they did worldhop in the first place. Those are my thoughts! Sorry if it’s disorganized; I’m a bit scatterbrained, and my mind’s always racing.
  14. The ghost of Butterflutter the Second then descended upon the brawl, silently screaming in agony.
  15. I actually discovered Mistborn through my seventh-grade English teacher, who mentioned it in a writing prompt for our class. I had previously read the Rithmatist and, I think, Steelheart, but didn’t really get into his books until Cosmere. And now I’m obsessed.
  16. But from a pure awesomeness standpoint, doesn’t Lift take the cake(pun intended)? Who is your favorite fictional character?
  17. We interrupt this program to report that, sadly, Butterflutter the Second has ascended to the Beyond. He will be sorely missed.
