I will be there! I don't leave until the 30th, so I can definitely be there. I just need to know when I'll be there. Need to ask Josh and Mi'ch.

What if he went completely metalless? He's got some hard training under his belt, would he be able to take Magneto on in hand to hand?

SO COOL. It doesn't even matter if this is the only Allomancer gunfight, it's still the best. A Koloss Allomancer. *shudder*

I know the gist of it, but the thing I was looking for was specifics. So I'll just have to be patient. ... ... ... ... *twitch* -

I believe we can call this as the first example of Online Hemalurgy. -
[Dan Wells] Favorite in the trilogy
Silus - Shard of Flame replied to Chaos's topic in Entertainment Discussion
It's SO CLOSE, but I went with the original, because the parallels between John and Crowley are just so strong. The dynamic there is much better than between John and the other demons. The others are awesome, but I felt that that first one was the best. -
Way of Kings: Kaladin and Syl
Silus - Shard of Flame replied to Sinspire's topic in Creator's Corner
I really like this. Kaladin is great, though a little different than I think of him. I love how you drew in Syl. How you can see Kaladin through her is a great bit, and she's just so adorable! -
SO. We have had three matches end so far. Two NPC ones in the Glyph Cavern, and our first player match was won brilliantly by River! That was really, really good. Plus, we now have more posts in the Story Topic than the Discussion Topic! *dances*

River Peter screams, surrounded in a flash of light as his Spheremount's safeguard kicks in, transforming him back into his baseline. It takes you a moment to recover and stand, but he still lies on the ground holding his stomach with the memory of pain, suddenly very sober. "And the victor is River!" The crowd cheers, and the bridge to one side of the arena extends, allowing you to return to the rest of the cavern. Peter scrambles to his feet, gives you a shocked look, and takes off in the other direction. Ambrosius Flip gets back on his feet just in time to dodge another barrage of fireballs and starts using his telekinesis to deflect the fire away from himself. Dan lands again, and, seeing Flip's ability to deflect his shots, rushes him. Flip seems to prepare for another round of fireballs, but at the last second Dan turns back into the red beast. All of the momentum of his flight slamming with incredible force into the armored man. The crowd gives a sympathetic "ooh!" Flip stands and you can hear the sound of struggling mechanisms, like a malfunctioning droid, coming from him. His Form appears to not be, at least, completely human. The red monster charges again, hoping to end the match with a last blow. But Flip stands his ground. He seems to radiate with energy, an icy glow building around him. With a shout he unleashes a blast of freezing power at his foe. This stops Dan in his tracks, and even though he attempts to keep going, the cold slows him, eventually stopping his progress, leaving him encased, a statue of ice. Flip, with a deep breath, lifts him off the ground, his glowing mask and his stance showing great concentration, higher and higher. The crowd is silent in anticipation. The glow fades, and, almost hesitant, the block of ice begins to fall, at least thirty feet. With a concussive crash that seems to shake the air and a blast of light, the ice shatters, leaving behind Dan, now in his baseline, unconscious. The match is over.

Could you put up an intro thread explaining what RE is to those on 17S who aren't sure how it works (like myself) and might want to participate? EDIT: There are three posts in a row where the usernames all start with Si, weird. -

This is one of my favorite bacon related things. Apart from actual bacon of course. -
[Dan Wells] Welcome, Dan!

MWAHAHAHA! Success! Today, TWG, tomorrow, GOOGLE! (which is pretty much the same as ruling the world) -
The ghoul wails and lets go, dissipating into the ether. You can also hear Peter shout from behind you. Turning to face him, you can see him start to do the same thing as before. Two ghouls appear this time, one blue and one green, on either side of you. The grab you around the wrists and pull. Ambrosius You recognize the one in the arena as the guy who threw you with telekinesis. And the female announcer confirms your thought. "Flip of Frozen Foothills!" He waves to the crowd. "Dan of the Western Plain!" His opponent acknowledges. "On my mark!" They start to shift. "Get set!" The Forms appear. "GO!" Dan seems unchanged, but you notice a green glow around one hand, some sort of device. In a flash of green light, he is replaced by a hulking giant, about ten feet tall, with red skin and four muscular arms. He rushes at Flip. Flip, now in white armor similar to Trip's, stands his ground. His mask glows and a force slams into the oncoming hulk, stopping his charge, but not for long as he soon breaks free of the force and continues to charge. His opponent dodges out of the way like a practiced rockbull tamer, and blasts his back with ice energy, long crystals forming there. It only takes a shrug of the shoulders to crack the ice, though. It goes back and forth like that for a minute or so before the red beast disappears again in a flash of green light, becoming a figure made of what seems to be fiery magma, who proceeds to throw fireballs at the ice warrior. Flip counters with blasts of ice, the equal forces cancelling each other out. He's the one charging now, rushing his opponent with a pair of what seem to be spiked clubs. He slams into the flaming form, knocking him off his feet and then shoving him with his telekinesis, forcing him off the cliff. The crowd cheers at what seems to be the end of the match, but a fireball rises out of the chasm, Dan returning to fight.

What about the cloth boon? The guy who got his vision turned upside asked for cloth and got it. My thinking is that the Nightwatcher is hardly a passive entity, simply cranking out boons and curses based on a certain formula. I get the feeling is that she is either Cultivation directly, a herald, or something else. But there is most definitely an intelligence behind this. I find this extremely funny. And yes, Musicspren, those are epic keteks.

What are you playing right now?
Silus - Shard of Flame replied to Link Von Kelsier Harvey's topic in Entertainment Discussion
I had a golf club and a spiked tetherball for weapons. LOVE that game! Did you just start? I kinda feel the same way. Though mainly because of the Brandon fans I know who play Magic (like Mi'ch and Josh). We hung out a while back with a couple of other guys and played magic. It was a blast. One of the guys there, who's actually really good at it, had an (I think) 11/11 creature with Flying and Trample (I think), the best part? It was a GOAT TOKEN. -
The other three are easily spotted at the end of the bridge, waiting for their comrade, who high fives one of them. That one then walks down the bridge himself. He seems to be the one in the next match.

Cool stuff, but maybe this should be moved to Fan Art?

Theory: What happened to Honor
Silus - Shard of Flame replied to Spook's topic in Stormlight Archive
Except that there's a precedence for this. -
I'd actually I'd say it's the other way. That he asked to have his memories of his wife taken from him. And the idea that his curse was son's illness has some interesting ideas behind it. It makes a great curse, but if we assume that the Nightwatcher is a force of Cultivation (like I do), it begs the question of what this is supposed to cultivate in Dalinar. Family loyalty? Fatherly attributes?

River - Waterfall Cavern Peter looks frustrated. The alcohol is still fuzzing his mind, but now it doesn't work in his favor. But his appearance is intimidating enough that that might not matter. He's grown about a foot taller, even with how stooped he now is. His skin is green and sickly, like a rotting corpse, marking him as an undead Form. The weapon he carries is a large shovel, with a deadly sharp edge, and it glows with an eerie light. He holds up a hand, which pulses with the same light as his shovel. A bronze pulse and an odd noise from behind you alert you to his move. You twist to face it, but not before a pair of slimy, orange hands grabs you around the throat. A maw breathing a heavy scent of death and full of sharp yellow teeth is coming toward your face. Ambrosius - Glyph Cavern Bizarre, colorful monsters surround a figure in white, robotic looking armor, who stands composed. The monsters leap at him, and he responds ferociously, tearing them asunder with his sword, bashing them to pieces with his shielding, and flash freezing them with a wave of his hand. Once they're gone he approaches a quivering figure on the edge of the arena, who holds his sketchpad between him and his opponent. The white figure lifts the cartoonist off the ground with ease, tossing back into the middle of the arena. The scrawny figure scrambles to his feet, trying to run with nowhere to go. He gets a shielded backhand for his trouble, knocking him out of his Form. The white figure walks up to him and holds his sword over his throat. A female voice echoes through the room. "And the winner is Trip of Frozen Foothills!" The crowd cheers as the man shifts back to baseline, the mask remaining on his face as he walks to the now extended bridge.

So if you're currenly espousing this, stop it, because it's not a theory anymore, it's a fact.

Awakening Can Make Returned...Sort Of
Silus - Shard of Flame replied to Silus - Shard of Flame's topic in Warbreaker
That could actually explain what's up with Clod/Arsteel. I can hardly see it happening on purpose, though, unless that's another awesome thing that Vasher knows that we don't. -
What Are You Reading, Part 2
Silus - Shard of Flame replied to Chaos's topic in Entertainment Discussion
My uncle got me The Storyteller in Zion by Orson Scott Card, and I've been reading that some. Mostly been reading Hero of Ages. I've also been rereading the printed draft of my NaNoWriMo story from last year. Yes, it's pretty broken, lots of things to be fixed, but there's a lot that I really like too. Yay! I've also finally got Bossypants by Tina Fey from the library, which I put a hold on after reading the dust jacket and back cover and cracking up every other sentence. Can't wait to start! Still got Steelheart, though that's fallen to the back burner right now. -
I wasn't going to read that post because it's long, but your avatar convinced me to. (LOVE Doctor Who! Can't wait for next week!) Don't worry about the fanfiction, the first million words you write don't count. Twilight...I'll let DW pass you on that one, but it's a one time thing! How'd you get onto a panel at LTUE!? Jealous! And I also really liked Ella Enchanted.
