  1. That sounds more like your problem than theirs. XP
  2. Actor I was given: Jon HederMovies I loved: Napoleon DynamiteMovies I liked: Monster House? I guess? It was...okay...Movie I hated: Benchwarmers, sucked so hard.Like this post and I'll give you an actor!

  3. Sazed smacked him so that it went farther in, Vin pulled one out in the thirteen Inquisitor brawl. She would have pulled the other one out, but her body was zapped first.
  4. That's more muscle memory than anything else, which would be a Physical aspect, rather than a Cognitive or Spiritual one, which is what makes a Returned not dead.
  5. Right, forgot about Ironeyes being his nickname (despite rereading it only a few days ago XP). Still not sure on that one, though. The woman who says she saw her husband probably saw a Kandra. After all, she didn't mention him having spikes in him. The only ways the people across the ocean could have new metals is either: 1) The main population isn't aware of Chromium/Nicrosil, which is what they're using. or 2) We're dealing with Lerasium or Atium alloys. Brandon has said that Sazed transformed the Koloss into a species that breeds on its own.
  6. Why would Ironeyes be Marsh? He had one of his eye-spikes taken out by Vin. He would be Ironeye unless he replaced his other eye-spike.
  7. Yeah, the foreshadowing is really bad. It lends a lot of credence to the idea that she didn't actually think of the horcruxes or hallows until a couple of books beforehand. The real strength of Harry Potter is the characters, though. You latch onto them, you really care about them.
  8. I would like to announce that I now have super-short hair. ANOTHER VERY POTTER MUSICAL! ONLY CAPS CAN SHOW MY ENTHUSIASM FOR THIS!
  9. That was awesome. Some parts made me laugh so hard. A feruchemical link to the koloss. LOL
  10. He doesn't want to kill the non-magic people, he wants to rule them. And his people kill muggles for sport. As someone who has read the books, I can assure that the majority of the plot holes and deus ex machina in the movies can be attributed to lack of vital details from the books. Voldemort, in the last book, was breaking down. Everything he's done has come to nothing, and he's been soundly deceived in every way, all because of his own refusal to acknowledge those things he deems below him, like love, that has such incredible power.
  11. I'm am completely aware of your framed and signed number one poster, Chaos. And I'm not jealous at all. [/blatantlies]
  12. If our thinking about Skai's Shard name is correct, it would make a lot of sense that Odium would want to kill him, seeing as Odium uses disunity between the various of factions of Roshar to his advantage. If Skai decided to get involved in what was going on there, Odium could be in some real trouble.
  13. I would like to announce that my Table of Allomantic Metals poster is super awesome.
  14. Actually I'd say that the first three were mid-apocalyptic. It's just that the apocalypse was happening really, really slowly. The one thing I think we can safely say won't happen is a prequel to the first trilogy.
  15. It really could be handled any number of ways. I would love to see a sort of RPG/Action Platformer deal. But it would only really work if you played a full Mistborn. That's my chief concern, who you play as. The thing is that there's such a disparity between the power levels in Mistborn (my only pet peeve with the magic), and that makes certain aspects of it tricky.
  16. Looks like I'm only going to get to see him on Release Night. Then no more Brandon Sanderson for me until 2013!
  17. "I write these words in steel for anything not set in metal cannot be trusted." ~Kwaan, MB2 Epigraphs But wait, if Ruin can't affect metal, how can he mess with a Feruchemist's copperminds? Well, Ruin can affect metal in certain ways. Brandon has said that Ruin and Preservation can fuel their respective magic systems, leading to events like Vin using the mists to fight off thirteen Inquisitors at once. He also said that they can both fuel Feruchemy. That would mean that they can fill metalminds, even copperminds. So if you're a Shard who wants to manipulate a few prophecies to get yourself out of prison, how do you do it? You rewrite the prophecies by filling copperminds with different versions of the prophecies you want to change. Sound good to you guys?
  18. ARGH! I came this same conclusion while rereading that conversation in TFE today. Way to beat me to it. Self Preservation, yeah? *grumble grumble*
  19. Okay, so Vasher, discussing Awakening (with Vivenna I think?), says that there are four kinds of Awakening that he is aware of. -Awakening of inanimate objects without intelligence: This is default Awakening, what we are usually referring to when we use the term. -Awakening of deceased beings without intelligence: Lifeless. -Awakening of inanimate objects WITH intelligence: The process that created Nightblood. -Awakening of deceased WITH intelligence: Returned. This is the only type of Awakening that cannot be performed by humans...right? I don't think so, for the most part. My theory is this: If you can gather enough breaths to equal the volume of a Divine Breath (enough to reach the Fifth Heightening) and use that to animate a corpse, you could create a Returned. After a fashion. The difference here is subtle, but key. You wouldn't be bringing that person back to life, restoring their memories and personality (which only Endowment can do), you would be creating a new personality, in much the same way you would create an object like Nightblood, with a Command (and whatever else went into making Nightblood). Also, the Breaths would not be a Splinter and would be unable to perform the miraculous acts that a True Returned can perform (e.g., growing back the God King's tongue). The one thing I can't make a real guess at is whether or not this Pseudo Returned would need to consume Breaths to stay alive like the True Returned. The one piece of evidence I can think of is that Nightblood requires Breath to use its power, which might reflect on how a Pseudo Returned would function. A rebuttal to this that I can think of is Arsteel, and how Brandon might use him as a potential viewpoint for the WB sequel. This, and various statements in the annontations, hint that normal Lifeless have form of intelligence on their own. But my response to that would be that what I am referring to would be something else, creating an intelligence at least as complex as Nightblood. Responses!
  20. @Eerongal However you want to approach it, go for it. Whatever you think will be most interesting. @Emeralis Transitions to baseline and back usually take the same amount of time as transitions between Forms. But with Star Power it takes the average amount of time, about ten seconds. I can see no problems, so, approved! One thing, where it says Form Description, I like there to be some description of that Form's look as it is on your character, since there is a variation to it. You don't have to, but just keep that in mind.
  21. So he didn't look at the door in the morning either? Cuz then he would know that River's name isn't Adolin.
  22. I would have thought that everyone checked everyone else's number. Le sigh.
  23. Only River has a match in the first round. Eero's is after that, then Jay, then Ambro. River and Eero are both in the Waterfall Arena, Jay and Ambro are in the Glyph Arena.
  24. The wall bulges out into the balcony as before, but the man with the red shirt is not alone with the Bronze Shadow anymore. Jezebel and Piscun are behind him to either side, just within the shadows. As before, the man's voice is magnified to fill the cavern. "Greetings, Spheremorphs! I am glad to see that you seem to have rested well, for today's activities will be most strenuous. "In this room, and in the rooms to either side-" he gestures to the doors to either side of the balcony, which is just above the door to the Living Quarters, "-is where the matches will take place. "On the lists that you will most likely have seen, you will notice that the list is broken into three sections: Red, Yellow and Blue. These are the divisions of the tournament. The champion of each of these groups will compete for the final prize. For now, though, which group you are in will determine where your matches will be held. Red matches will be held here, in the Waterfall Cavern; Yellow matches in the Glyph Cavern to my right; and Blue matches in the Mist Cavern to my left." You can remember that different parts of the list were differently colored, Position 1 through position 16 was red, 17 through 32 was yellow, and 33 through 48 was blue. "Now on to the matches themselves. Whatever-" his eyes narrow, "-conduct you may be used to observing outside of these walls, know that there are rules here. Rules that will be followed or be met with harsh consequences. First of which is this: we do not kill here. We are not barbarians, beating each other with sticks. We are warriors, comfortable with our power, and we don't need to end lives to prove it. Lethal force will be met in kind. "Matches end either in submission or unconsciousness. If you are no longer able to fight, you're done. And that should held in mind both by those who win as well as those who lose. "You start when instructed, early action will be penalized. But apart from these rules, there is very little regulation of how you fight. We are, after all, flexible beings, with many different methods of combat. "The first three matches will begin shortly. Combatants, please report to your designated arena. The rest of you may observe the matches or return to the Living Quarters as you so desire." He turns and leaves, the others following, the balcony retracting.
  25. Absolute maximum? Five. I will discourage having more than two during the tournament, though. So if you're wanting a new character, go right ahead. Just know that having more characters is making a commitment to posting more. EDIT: Goshdangit, I was hoping to get the ST to have more posts than here.
