No.

I don't see why there should be a restriction on it, I think 256 combinations would be awesome!

I'd like to announce that I've got a sweet new character for my D&D game tonight. I regret to announce that my printer is being a piece of crap and fuzzing out most of the text on my character sheet so it's only partially legible.

What Are You Reading, Part 2
Silus - Shard of Flame replied to Chaos's topic in Entertainment Discussion
I couldn't bring myself to read anything I'm supposed to be reading right now, so I cheated and started rereading TFE. So happy. -
To an extent, I'll veto things if you go too far, but feel free to experiment, I probably won't contradict you. If you need any specific information about what a character knows or how they act, ask me here or shoot me a PM.
-
Feel free with the dialogue, but the thing is that not all of the characters are created. Most of the Spheremorphs are undefined at this point.

The crowd starts to move to the living quarters, new energy brought to each conversation. Jay'el Kara rolls her shoulders, stretching, there's a definite glaze in her eyes, fatigue. "Not us, me and my sister and going to sleep," says Adam. He nods to each of you then puts an arm around her sister and starts to guide her toward the door to the living quarters, joining the flow of the assembly. "Well, not me, I'm up for it." Burly grins. "As am I," says Veronica. "I'll go find us a room," says Gregory, nodding to his companions and then moving with the crowd. Burly gestures for you to follow, and the three of you move to follow the others. Ambrosius The conversation among most of the groups tends to be in the same vein: anticipation of the battles; curiosity as to what they'll entail; nerves; and a definite edge of paranoia, more than would be expected; along with eagerness for food and sleep, it is midnight after all. River Peter shrugs, a movement that is more exaggerated then necessary, especially since it kicks up some of the odor he's accrued over the evening. "No idea, apart from being thoroughly annoying, they've left us alone. I have no idea where they get off to. Odd, isn't it? They're not shy about showing off their power, but when it comes to actually talking to people, they're as evasive as rabbitghosts!" He chuckles. "Well, old boy, I'm off to see if this place has a bar with proper hellfire spirits like I'm fond of." He wanders away in the vague direction of the living quarters, humming an old Riverheart drinking song about hitting on angel women and getting sent to hell for it, then finding that they have better liquor than anyone on earth and trading your soul for it. Eerongal The surge of the crowd has swept away any trace of the man you saw. To the point where you could have imagined it, but something about those eyes tells you you didn't.

Theory: How Shardblades Work
Silus - Shard of Flame replied to FellKnight's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I'd say that it's the Spiritual Realm rather than the Cognitive, and just affects it, rather than being in it. Other than that, I'd say it's good. -
YES! I love Darths & Droids! And this phenomenon is where Anakin came from in that continuity.

Yes, 256, I did the math wrong in my head. Just because Aluminum and Duralumin are pretty useless doesn't mean they won't be part of the possible Twinborn combinations. And I really doubt that the Twinborn's metals have to be paired somehow, that would be severely limiting of what kind of Twinborn can exist. How else could he know just how to move Lessie's head before he pulled the trigger, because he would have to in order to beat a bullet.

If I'm still not on my mission at that point (doubtful, but who knows), I'll definitely be there. And with a drivers license I can not rely on my folks to get me there and stuff, but I might anyway because they'll probably want the car that day and I will be there all day. I will probably get inside the fist fifty, which'll be awesome.

My cousin and his friend got me playing League of Legends, and I suck, but it's still fun. -
What Are You Watching Right Now?

I watched Scott Pilgrim a couple of days ago, and it was pretty dang awesome. All the little video game references like the intro music to Zelda: A Link to the Past at the beginning made me smile. And I kept bursting out laughing at different things. Way fun. The ending was kind of weird though. I've seen how much people like the My Little Pony show and it's FREAKING ME OUT. I'm a little scared. -
Loved this. So much. I really needed a Brandon kick right now and this hit the spot so perfectly. I'd say that Tan was burning Atium. Though I didn't think to take his ramblings literally. I thought "Duh, of course Inquisitors would become devil figures." And remember, Marsh only has one spiked eye since his fight with Vin. The mists are representations of Preservation's power, his presence. Where they go is where Sazed happens to be exerting Preservation's power at the time. You can't Push on metal if it's stuck through the skin, not just touching it, otherwise wearing metal rings wouldn't be a sign of power, yeah? I'd say it's an instinctive thing, some kind of low level cognitive twitch that keeps him from Pushing his own stuff. EDIT: CR beat me to it. EDIT2: I would like to point out that if a chart is ever released of all of the Twinborn combination names, I will most likely memorize it. Yes, all 196 of them. It's too bad Wax is putting the guns away, he could've been Allomantic BATMAN!

I only mentioned that they're there! I gave absolutely no detail about them! Whatever interest you have in them is purely of your own invention!

If you haven't seen Death Note, you have no idea how dangerous this guy is. If you have seen Death Note...you STILL don't know how dangerous this guy is. *evilgrin*

Goshdangit, guys! Stop making me actually have to come up with more Spheremorphs! Going around trying to interact with random people. grumble grumble [/stupidwhining]

Or it could be like the Wii, bombing AND successful at the same time, due to massive system sales and no third party games worth looking at. But it's already got some decent third party support, like Batman Arkham City, so we'll see.

What Are You Reading, Part 2
Silus - Shard of Flame replied to Chaos's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Currently reading: Time of the Twins, Dragonlance Legends Volume 1, by Tracky Hickman and Margaret Weis. I got the third one, Test of the Twins, from Tracy at the Killer Breakfast at CONduit, so I have to add these to my already bleak goal. It's pretty good so far even though I'm only like five chapters in. Eldest, by Christopher Paolini. Not much to say here. Not enjoying Roran's storyline quite like I remembered, then again, the same can by said for the whole book. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Really liking this one, of course. It's probably my second favorite HP book after Deathly Hallows, you can see all the plotlines weaving together. She's very good at that. Thing she's not so good at? Adverbs. The Golem's Eye. This one is probably the one I'm taking the slowest, not sure why, it's really good. -
Before anything else can be said, a rumble, slow but building, comes from one side of the room. Looking in that direction you can see the wall over one of the doors start to swell like a bubble before opening to become a balcony overlooking the cavern you are in. A figure emerges from the shade of the balcony, and comes to stand at its edge, hands rested on the railing. He is wearing a red silk shirt with the top two buttons undone over black slacks. His dark hair is neatly trimmed and his brown eyes seem to burn with energy over his bright grin. But two details attract attention. First, witnessed by any Bronze Misting in the room, is a ripple of power just above and to the side of the man, almost a silhouette, hovering in the air. The other is more distinct, and perhaps more terrifying. A night black notebook sticking out of his breast pocket. "Friends, honored guests, Spheremorphs! Lend me your attention for a few moments," he says, his voice seems magnified, whether by magic or just good acoustics is hard to tell. "I am thrilled by your presence, that so many of you have deemed to join my little gathering. I hope my invitations weren't too...invasive." He smirks, showing his jest. He knows perfectly well how invasive some of his "invitations" were. "I would hate to interrupt your no doubt important conversations, but there a few things that you should know at this time. "Living quarters are through the door beneath me, for those of you who have only just arrived. I hope you find the conditions to your liking. The other arenas are to either side of this room. "For those of you who are wondering, yes, this is a dungeon, but rest assured that no monster will crawl out of the walls to kill you while you sleep. Not unless I want them to." He smiles again, but the threat does not seem to be idle. "The first round of the tournament will be held tomorrow at noon, the bracket will be posted in the main room of the living quarters at dawn tomorrow. I hope they are to your liking. Now, goodnight! This is an occasion of merriment! A joyous celebration of our - your - strength! May you eat well, sleep well, and fight well!" He turns and walks back into the shadows, the presence following him. The balcony dissolves back into the wall.

Dollhouse is amazing, but be warned, asking just the wrong question about how things work can collapse the immersion for you. I've come to the conclusion because of this, and other things in Joss's other shows, that Joss Whedon is a great writer, but he can't keep a phlebotinum consistent to save his life. And his team coined the term! -
Yay for more Eero!
