  1. Brandon Sanderson is signing at Jordan Landing RIGHT NOW. AND I'M IN ARIZONA.

  2. And then there's that you have to four GBAs and four GBA to GC cords. PAIN IN THE BUTT.
  3. ARGH! The ONE time I'm not in Utah and EVERYTHING seems to happen!
  4. There's a bunch that I want to read, but only ten that I've read to date. And that's kind of a stretch. I haven't read all of the Temeraire books, and only part of an Elric book. And some books I don't know if they would make my top ten if I had read others, like Brave New World.
  5. There's only ten things on that list that I've actually read.
  6. So they assign the usernames? Weird.
  7. I. LOVE. YOU. GUYS. If being ridiculously cute is an evolutionary trait, then the kitten in Chaos's post is the most advanced creature on the planet. HOLY CRAP, IT'S A PIECE OF PAPER. RESPONSE!
  8. You and me both, FFCC was one of very first games and I still haven't beat it.
  9. Mention of Allomancy in this article. It doesn't talk a lot about it, so I figure it belongs here rather than getting its own topic.
  10. You're the one who decided to settle in and have him watch the match. And I believe you have a character to introduce.
  11. I would like to announce that this is the first 17th Shard post made from over 10,000 feet.
  12. I don't want to ruin this moment...and yet I do, because I don't want to be murdered. UPVOTES FOR EVERYONE! I would like to announce that in an hour I will be on my way to Arizona to be spoiled by my grandmother for two weeks. XD
  13. I like it a lot. And I have a thought as to why emotions could have spren, an alternative to your idea that emotions change nearby spren. I think that the emotion spren are the cognitive aspect of the chemicals firing in your brain when you experience certain intense emotions. This is why certain spren are hard to identify because only one person can see them. Because those things are only viable to you, like the intoxicationspren in the Axies interlude, where things like gloryspren tend to be more of a communal feeling or something very easy to see. There are, of course, other realmatic things to take into account here, but that's the gist of my idea, anyway.
  14. Ooh! Because of Syl's reaction to the Shardblade the theory has been tossed around that the Blades are of Odium. By itself it doesn't seem to make a lot of sense, but when combined with this one a picture starts to emerge. It's a trade, Odium made swords for Honor's champions in exchange for an army. Why? I don't know, maybe it has to do with the rules that Shards have to follow that Honor mentions in Dalinar's last vision. Maybe they put armies against each other so that they don't wipe each other out like But it makes sense, yeah?
  15. That was genuinely awesome. *upvotes*
  16. Heck, it comes out in November, right? Someone should bring it to Alloy of Law!
  17. I picked up Silverheart by Micheal Moorcock from the library, because I read it a few years ago and remember enjoying it immensely. It's pretty good so far. A little infodumpy in places, but really good. I can't help but think of Allomancy A LOT while reading this, though.
  18. I have the FFCC theme on my ipod. Also: Yeah. And everything from the second season of the Sing Off. Especially the Backbeats and On The Rocks, because they are AWESOME.
  19. We'll cross that bridge if we come to it. But really, with a little ingenuity, you'll just breeze through this first round. It's the later stuff you need to be worried about. > PS We need more posts in the Story Topic than the Discussion Topic, dangit!
  20. If it wasn't coming out in November, I'd be ready to pre-order it RIGHT NOW. That said, this'll be on my list of things to get once I get off my mission. Hopefully I'd be able to wrangle enough people from my current D&D group to play it with me. Some of them have read Mistborn. But like Chaos, I'd probably get it just for the sake of getting all that information. Also, the cover art is GORGEOUS.
  21. The problem with raising steam is that it obscures your own vision as well as your foe's, making it difficult to sense where Peter is once he stops his radical spin. "As much as I enjoy this Form, and I really enjoy this Form," he slurs, giggling every few words, "I get the feeling it's time for a change in pace." A glow starts to spread through the steam. You should have about ten seconds to do something. Faster than you thought possible, the glow fades, and a figure rushes at you out of the mist. He's bigger than he was a second ago, thicker, taller, but also kind of stooped. You barely have time to register is a foul smell before he swings something that resembles an axe at your head.
  22. I don't know if I can call what side they'll be on, but I get the feeling that the Parshendi and the Parshmen will be on opposite sides of the conflict.
  23. But I like seeing characters come back from the dead! It's super awesome! And if anyone can do it right, it's Brandon.
